Tool is my favorite band and I’ve been steadily watching reactions for over a year now. I love yours for the entire album experience. Thanks. I feel lucky to be alive at the same time these guys are making music. I’m 44 now and the first time I saw them I was 18 and it quite literally changed me.
30 years after inception they release this album, it's mind boggling to me that in a world filled with music these guys still sound so unique, they sound like no one and no one sounds like them, that's incredible.....great reaction, thank you for sharing
Dude I’m so happy for you that you’re seeing them live. I saw them last year and cried during “Invincible”. That song meant a lot to me after leaving the military.
During Descending (and a few other tracks), you often wondered aloud what the "electronic/synth/percussive" sounds were: it was Danny Carey. If you're interested, I made an active drum transcription for Descending, so you can watch along with the drum part during the song: ruclips.net/p/PLeaK9tcJzll0JqQ3Mze4DMQopO8ObtVvY. I suspect you'll be surprised by how much Danny Carey is doing on the drums that you didn't even notice or realize. He is a master of combining traditional acoustic drums with electronic drum pads. ;-)
You should react to their salival album before the concert rather than after. It’ll make you even more eager for it 😂 enjoyed watching all your tool reactions!
It's haunting that this album was released in 2019, right before covid hit, which seemed to have thrown down the 'Tower' card upon clown world. It seems to get more dysfunctional and chaotic by the day. Anyways, I know like with your offspring, you shouldn't pick favorites, however.... This is my absolute favorite BELOVED Tool album. Don't get me wrong, I love their older albums too, but I'm really attached to Pneuma's album concept. This is perfectly matured and ripe Tool, and yet they've been fucking kick ass since the 90s and throughout till present (and future, if this band or its members release any public artistic expression, it'll be excellent, at the very least. Apologies if I'm writing like a robotic idiot. Hit that vape a little TOO long...
7empest won a Grammy for a reason. Definitely in my top 5, if not my favorite (because every song is my favorite). As someone with bipolar disorder and adhd, I relate to the words on another level.
That intro in fear inoculum is actually electric guitar and bass. It's sick And what u refer to as the bass in descending is actually electronic drum pads lol
It’s cool that your waiting to listen to the live album, but are you gonna listen to their first EP Opiate? It’s only 35 minutes long but it’s a banger
Oh fuck, I can't wait for this. Been waiting for this moment for a long time. They're so polished on this album, it's insane. If I still lived in Ontario then I would have seen them live this year 100%, but unfortunately I live on the other side of the country now. Oh, well.
The first time I heard Pneuma I went out and bought this album. I hadn't heard any of the other songs yet and I was blown away by how good it was. Can't wait for you to see them live. Please give us a concert review.☺️
I can assuredly say that I TRULY (sorry, I'm pure blitzed out autism right now 😭) believe Pneuma is my "favorite" musical album of all time, at least for the past 33 years I've existed in this dimension. Yeah, can't you tell I'm sucked into the Tool realm right now? 😅... Ok, I just wanted to share my mutual love for this opus dei. Not trying to sound kiss ass or dramatic either lol. This album is getting me through the hardest and most disruptive time in my life right now.
This album has grown on me in the past few years. When it dropped I was disappointed. I didn’t think it should have taken 13 years to put out. Maynard even said this was ready in 2011
It's interesting that you mentioned the desert Maynard lives in Arizona and pretty much has a fascination with aliens. He goes kind of deep into aliens with his other band. Puscifer
Chocolate Chip Trip is basically a Danny Carey drum 'solo' song you might say. I hate to use the word 'solo' because Danny's drumming is sooo much more than a solo if you know what I mean..LOL
Oh how Adam picks it on 7empest and this LP. I think I understand why people love David Gilmour. The solos were a journey. Like an elevation. It wasn't the shredding it was the playing. Low-key MVP of the album for sure💯🌀
I think TOOL army are some place else supporting other reactors they should show up soon surely. Oh well you will have to settle for an old TOOL, mate. Thanks for the reaction it warms my crazy mind.
Here's why I don't like looking at lyrics while listening to new music: 1) you delete the element of surprise that is part of music 2) you know If the song is gonna be instrumental or with vocals (again surprise) 3) you take away a big portion of focus from the song, missing out on important instrumental parts 4) you take away from vocalists ability to "confuse you" which is part of art.. if he wants you to hear the words on 1st listen, he will make it obvious and sing them with normal volume/no effect, if he wants you to find out later/never or just create atmosphere he will put a heavy effect on the voice 5) to me - reading lyrics on 1st listen is like looking at a video next to the song that tells you "a guitar riff is gonna come in at 3 2 1", just loses it's magic I feel like music lyrics are like a poem that gives you it's pieces to the puzzle over time and it's up to you to put them together. But I understand everyone likes to consume music differently

That was such a treat. Thx for sharing, You are the living embodiment of the saying “The best Tool song is the one you’re listening to right now.”
Thank you for listening!

I can't wait to watch this tomorrow evening!
Descending is my absolute favorite I have to listen to it at least once a week late at night in bed in the dark, just takes me to some other place!
I am only two songs in and this is already one of the best reviews I’ve ever seen 🤘🏼😊
I really appreciate that! Much love!
Loved listening to it with you man. I saw Tool last night in SLC and it was unbelievable!
Fuck yeah mean, awesome! I hope you had a great time. Thanks for watching bri

7empest won a Grammy for the Best Metal Song upon it's release n 2019.
By the way, the EP is one of my favorites from them ever. Very raw. Early Tool!!
7empest is exhausting in the best possible way!!

I just wondered if there's any Antonio Vivaldi reactions, he was stellar. He lived from 1678 to 1741
Tickets are expensive, but if you can, try to see them. They're on tour now.
I'm seeing them this coming monday in vancouver!
Awesome! You're in for an experience. Have fun! I've seen them 5 times since 93.@@Stonedreviews283

Thank you, I appreciate it
For this album, give us your personal order from greatest to best (because there is no worse).
Wait until he discovers A Perfect Circle and Puscifer.
You missed a song... no one is going to mention that?
