    I'm not a religious person at all. I won't be going to church. However, the way you described the church services onboard, gotta say, was extremely well done. No judgment. No belittling. An honest, polite and fact filled description of what Cunard provides. I learned something from you about how to handle such a topic that can bring out a range of replies.

    I've only sailed on the QM2 from the Cunard offerings. Each of the Cunard ships have a lot of similarities and offerings while on board. It's really a class act. If you ever have a chance to travel on QM2 on a transatlantic sailing, I'd advise you to take some warm clothing for those strolls around the promenade. Even during the hottest days of August, the mid-Atlantic can be surprisingly cold, and after a few days of indulgent food and drink, you're going to need to walk that deck for some fresh air and exercise, but without a jacket or sweater/jumper, you'll be miserably cold--so take something warm regardless of the season.

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  Год назад +1

      Hey, thanks so much for watching! I actually did the Transatlantic from NYC to Southampton in December, so ‘watch this space’ for that content! I loved it - it was cold all the way over the Atlantic, then warm enough for jeans and a tshirt as we approached England - mid December - so weird!

    • @ajs11201
      @ajs11201 Год назад +1

      @@FraserAtSea Indeed, I would expect most people to expect cold weather in December and all through the winter months. I was a bit taken aback to find that I was cold in August. When we left the NYC Harbor in August, we had sweat rolling down our foreheads, but only a few days later, I was searching for layers to cope with the cold winds at sea. We managed, but I always offer that piece of advice for summertime travelers who may not expect the harsh elements of the mid-Atlantic.

    My wife and I just finished a 3-week cruise aboard the Queen Mary 2 (transatlantic both directions, plus Norway on the second week). This was my 4th time on the QM2, and my ritual is taking a photo of my first soft-serve cone each time I'm on board. Sadly for my waistline, I tend to average around 4 cones per day, with port days keeping it that low. The Queen Elizabeth is the next Cunard ship on our cruise list, so it was nice to see from this video that many familiar things from the QM2 also exist on the Elizabeth. I'm also happy to see the guest choir is there as well, which my wife (being a singer) really loved.
    On our cruise, the internet was a huge pain point among the guests, and the purser's office gave conflicting (and incorrect) information regarding cost/credits. Hopefully that gets sorted by our next cruise.

      It's actually a lot less than you'd think - plenty of the boat ia avialable in the evenings if you don't want to put on a jacket and trousers (no tie needed and you can take the jacket off once you've sat down, like my husband did!) You also don't need to participate in the gala evenings - just go to the Lido or pub those nights.

    Thanks for your report which was a sentimental visit back to the QE on which I just spent 14 days around NZ. All you said is spot on and no one provides the elegance of old world cruising like Cunard. The onboard entertainment was tops, as well.
    Shame about the lowlife that swapped their very ordinary polar fleece zip-up for my lovely Michael Korrs jacket which I left on my dining chair in the Lido, For about 5 minutes. Very disappointing. Travellers should take note.

    Thank you. So enjoyed watching your video as it’s 12 years from when I last sailed on the Queen Elizabeth. As a matter of interest are the captain cocktail parties and a bottle of bubbly in your state room a thing of the past?

      @@FraserAtSea Yes, she was all sparkly and new. I’ll be watching your full ship tour. That’s a shame about the captain’s cocktail party as they were always very popular and passengers loved getting their photo taken with the captain. That’s good about the bubbly. It’s was usually a half bottle on your first Cunard sailing and then a full bottle there after.

    So Fraser, did you make it to Bruges from Aurora? I used to choose my cruise by its itinerary and now the ship herself even calling at the same ports. This is why I choose only where I want to go because I always go to shore mostly on tour by the ship. You didn’t mention dance classes though. Anyway Elizabeth is my 1st Cunard to Zeebrugge but instead of Bruges, had a walk in Blankenburg/erge by a shuttle bus. Have booked QM2 for my belated birthday in ‘26 with a 2-night scenic cruise on the Cornish coast. June

      Hi June! I didn’t actually leave the ship - I had a ‘fake sea day’ and used it to enjoy the ship, and catch up with the other RUclipsrs who were onboard. That 2 night scenic cruise sounds wonderful - what a ship to be doing that on!

    One quick question: What drinks are included in the Britannia Restaurant when you dine there? I understand from the Cunard website that only drinks such as tea, coffee, water and juices are included *outside* the Britannia Restaurant, so there is an extra charge for any type of drink there; however, I am not sure about this.
    If drinks are not included in the Britannia Restaurant, how much is a bottle of water or a coke - just for guidance.

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  Год назад +2

      Hey! Good question, and no - drinks aren’t included in the Dining Rooms - all pay extra. I actually didn’t drink bottled water in there, as the ‘tap water’ was heavily iced from nice jugs and poured generously, so I never needed the bottle. Additionally, you can fill your own bottle up at the Lido during the day!
      Re Cokes, plan about $4 each, I’d say. Hope this helps, and thanks so much for watching!

      Hi Elizabeth, it’s funny you’re asking this question - this also caught me off guard on Cunard! Gratuities weren’t included in my fare, so I got the charge on my account a few days in.
