Why does an electric car sound like a fossil fuel engine?
This is because it is a hundai motors identity that has always ridiculed consumers.
They wont race against ICE vehicles, they'd do very poorly. They'd have to sell a bunch of these things to very wealthy people to get a single-make series going, too, so that's never happening. It's all marketing BS.
At a time when most manufacturers were questioning the future of EVs, Hyundai Motors invested with its future as a company and put all its efforts into technological development. Today, Hyundai's N Line EVs are clearly ahead of the curve.
Hyundai plz make the N VISION 74 mass produced and affordable with less powerful option. It is just a beautiful car to be produced in limited quantity and it will not reach to those who loved it, plz make it happen Hyundai!

현대가 포뮬러e에 별로 관심을 안 보였던 이유가 이해가 되네.... 현대가 양산형 모델로 시속 250km를 넘나드는데 레이스카로 시속 250km 간신히 넘기고 그나마도 열관리 이슈 때문에 좁디 좁은 써킷만 뱅글뱅글 도는 포뮬러e 따위에 성에 찰 리가 없지....ㄷㄷ

Apart from the simulated ICE note, this is spectacular.
Mimicking the combustion engine only symbolises cowardness as it's the patent acknowledgement of the inadequacy of the electric propulsion. But is that the case? Is there absolutely no way to flourish with the characteristics of the electric power train and radiate its own allure? I don't see the negative answer here.

Idk. The only thing more confusing is the fact that a speaker is in the race car version of this car. I get why it's in the production car, but having it in the race car just adds unnecessary weight. As a side note tho, in the production version, there's this really cool "Evolution" sound that's like a mix between an ICE and an EV that I like. Sounds way less sacrilegious than this sound, although for some reason, every person who's tried the Ioniq 5 N has actually preferred the "Ignition" sound (the one you hear in this video that sounds like an actual ICE)

If you've ever driven electric car on track, you'll know how important the fake sound is. Most of driver, even professional racer also, when they head to the corner or curve, they don’t look at the number of speed. They get response from selected gear & sound. Since most driver are used to ICE system, we still need a fake sound. Maybe not for future generations.
But we still need that, for safety on track. It is too difficult to manage speed by just looking cluster display.
Why is there engine sound for a car that doesn’t make engine sound? 🤦♂️
The gear shift during the race is very helpful for deceleration, and it is a sensuous part where you can see the degree of deceleration by sound.
There are two types of N mode, which is circuit race mode.
N mode without gear and exhaust sound.
N e shift mode with gear and exhaust sound
There's one more option.

Your opinion may be right also. But Hyundai is also planning to make different types of sound for each team so that audiences can identify each team with sound. In motor sports, records are important, but sound is also needed so that audiences can see and enjoy race.
