I was able to check them out at the Windup Watch Fair. The Marathon folks were incredibly nice. They actually mentioned that they were excited to hang out with Marc at dinner that evening. ...Hopefully they discussed another Marathon x Islander colab! 🙏😁
We’re going through a collab renaissance right now and it’s kinda exciting to see certain brands you’d never think would collaborate on a watch, do so. Great stuff!
Got my gsar automatic white dial last week and absolutely love it. Was gonna order this but it wouldn’t have came in time for my vacation. I think they did an excellent job. Great review
I already own a GSAR and tend to avoid branding where possible, but I'm glad Marathon is doing stuff like this. I've purchased their old composite and recent steel navigators as well, and I hope this does well for them, even if it's not for me.
I didn't know you made a bracelet for the GSAR/TSAR! I wanted a bracelet for mine, but didn't like the factory Marathon clasp. Guess I'll add that with the bead blasted SNK strap you announced last week.
Nice watches. I have always been a fan of Jeep vehicles, especially the ww2 models. And ok Mark are you just taunting us the Bethpage Amerigraph clock behind you? Lol
Interesting that MSAR 36 mm is so often returned. I have an arctic one I think it wears more like 37 even 38 since the bezel hangs slightly over the case. Plus the crown and guards really adds to the width. I can see people thinking the officers watch is small but in both instances once you get used to wearing a 36mm it really compliments the wrist not overpowers it
As a Wrangler owner this caught my eye, but as a life-long Seiko wearer, I don't think I want to spend quite that much on this watch, tempting as it may be. At a cheaper price point maybe... I'd also want to color match the strap to my blue Jeep :-)
I almost like it a lot, but red and green is a pet peeve of mine. The combination bears a strong Christmas or Red Army connotation, unless that's the intended association designers usually try to avoid that color combination. I love that the dial is emulating a traditional "tachometer" look and I get the "red line" detail, but in this instance yellow might have been a better accenting color instead of red; US Military ammo boxes use either yellow or white stencil on OD green cans, yellow print on OD green registers strongly as US Military.
I would wonder how long the lume of this watch last in comparison to the Seiko watches wich have one of the best and longest glow in my opinion. I own a Seiko and it last very very long. Even after five oder six hours there is still a little glow to read the time.
It's a very handsome tool watch, though i would have made it a lighter, slimmer field watch with domed sapphire and ditch the tritium for regular lume- though I'm prob in the minority.
sry but this is one of the best they did wauw i realy love it the jeep logo hmmm i dont know it big but its a jeep and Marathon colab so thats taste ...
@@stevendonovan9762No offence but it shows that you don’t know much about the cost of Swiss automatic watches or possibly watches in general. Expecting a 300m Swiss diver to be less than $500 is completely unrealistic This watch is not expensive for what it is nor is it cheap. Tritium tubes are always going to add to the price as well.
Not my piece of cake, i love my Arctic JDD a lot - but i'd never ever buy a Marathon that has a different brand, like from a car brand printed on.. but maybe there are some enthusiastic Jeep owners that always wanted a tactical watch and now see the opportunity - for me, never ever...
While Jeep & Marathon brands speak about ruggedness & toughness, i just can't help getting distracted by the 2 rubber ducks standing guard on both sides.
@islandwatch maybe some, but must are purchased. I'm in Florida, my jeep is my daily driver. Since the duck invasion, just 1 duck was left on my jeep. 2001 2 door wrangler. Ive noticed must duck people are driving 4 door jeeps priced over 80 thousand dollars. If it makes them happy, that's good I always enjoy your videos
Islander watches are brilliant (I own three). Marathon watches are brilliant. Jeep is probably the most unreliable, worst quality control, and lowest rated car brand in the world (next to Fiat). Maybe when Jeeps were made during the second world war they were reliable. I can't believe Marathon wants to be associated with such a crappy automative brand. I owned two Cherokees. Never again.

If i owned a Jeep this watch would be a must! Lockers, lift, winch and a Jeep watch.
25 years driving Jeeps, bought this watch and truly a killer collab!
Really nice watch! Very cool that they have a bunch of Easter Eggs in there!
We’re going through a collab renaissance right now and it’s kinda exciting to see certain brands you’d never think would collaborate on a watch, do so. Great stuff!
indeed, very true!
uniqlo x seiko would be so sick. eddie bauer x hamilton would be very cool to see revived.
Jeep owner here. I have a Cherokee Trailhawk. I absolutely love it. Now the question is, do I need the watch.
Yes you do
For sure.
You don't need a wrist watch...
But you WANT a wrist watch.
You NEED the watch
Do it!
Very very cool. A bit outside my price range but Marathon / Long Island Watch should have zero problem selling it. Thanks for showing it to us!
Wow, that Tritium lume with the mariglow lume looks amazing.
Very cool watch personally I have moved on to Large watches but this is a cool watch never the less
thanks for checking it out.
Got my gsar automatic white dial last week and absolutely love it. Was gonna order this but it wouldn’t have came in time for my vacation. I think they did an excellent job. Great review
Wow, actually a decent collaboration. Thanks!
Jeep...Marathon, Long Island Watch. Triple threat of greatness. Currently driving a Grand Cherokee, former owner of a Wrangler, WJ and XJ.
I already own a GSAR and tend to avoid branding where possible, but I'm glad Marathon is doing stuff like this. I've purchased their old composite and recent steel navigators as well, and I hope this does well for them, even if it's not for me.
I think this will be good for them.
Nice review Mark but the marker at 12 is aligned 😮beside that it’s a nice watch.
I didn't know you made a bracelet for the GSAR/TSAR! I wanted a bracelet for mine, but didn't like the factory Marathon clasp. Guess I'll add that with the bead blasted SNK strap you announced last week.
I love my Marathons - I have 2. I see another in my future.

I think it's the initial size shock
30 atm? Does it have a screwdown crown? The standard automatic is 10 atm waterproof. Cheers, Frank
Are these LE or in the collection permanently? Any idea?
I love the combination of tritium and maraglow and I would buy one if Marathon would make this also with a black housing.
I like the watch
it looks nice!
Some time ago I saw many Smith & Wesson watches, some were interesting

thank you love this watch
Long Island Watch and Long Island Ducks baseball? Next collab? That would be great lol
Can you make a video on the field watch? I already have a GSAR, so I’m tempted to get the mechanical field watch.
yeah, when I get them

no worries, thanks for watching.
Can you do a video on your GSAR bracelet?
I would wonder how long the lume of this watch last in comparison to the Seiko watches wich have one of the best and longest glow in my opinion. I own a Seiko and it last very very long. Even after five oder six hours there is still a little glow to read the time.
I gotta have this watch!!!!!
and you shall have it!
@@islandwatch that will make 3 from your boutique
Cool watch 👍
Gotta be must for a Jeep owner.
When are they going to put a ceramic bezel as an option? Maybe Marc can finally convince them.
Love this 👋
:)
Does it come with a check engine light? If you drive a Jeep, like I do, you’ll understand.
😂
Lmao.. i have a jeep and habe never seen a CEL. But eventually all vehicles will throw a CEL .
A tritium check engine light would be pretty awesome 😂
Yes! A tritium check engine light on the quartz version to let you know when to change the battery.
It's a very handsome tool watch, though i would have made it a lighter, slimmer field watch with domed sapphire and ditch the tritium for regular lume- though I'm prob in the minority.
there are more versions coming.
@@islandwatch when are the other versions coming?
Hmm.. what's that wall clock?
Wanted a GSAR for a while, I’ll be consulting my financial advisor.
LOL
I wonder why the decision was made to go with a 41mm bezel? I would like it to have been bigger, like their popular watches.
Pretty cool, but that date window placement.. 😱😱😱😱😱😱
sry but this is one of the best they did wauw i realy love it the jeep logo hmmm i dont know it big but its a jeep and Marathon colab so thats taste ...
👍🏻
@@islandwatch maybe i need to buy a jeep makes the circle round lol
The long strap is for over a wetsuit while diving.
I don’t know… for me the colours combo is weird. Yet it looks like a man’s tool💪🏻
it sure does!
$1350.00? OH MY, MY...
Same price as a regular GSAR. There are lower cost options coming.
It's about 3 times what I was thinking but I guess that shows what do I know.
I also had stickershock but then realized if you payinh 60-70+ for a new Jeep 1350 isnt much for a branded mechanical watch.

C'est en anglais et en français. J'apprécie 🟦⬜🟥 👍Je suppose parce que c'est canadien. I guess because it is Canadian🙂

Sentries!
Jeep owner here...
I NEED THIS WATCH!!!
Glad to hear it.
The JeepSAR
Wow, I thought Jeeps were over priced. The watch looks great, but Marathon is asking way too much for this one.
It's the same price as the GSAR they've been selling for decades.
@@islandwatch True. It’s like everything else, people see values in different things.
I like the idea but if I did not own a Jeep, I would feel weird wearing a Jeep branded watch
Also $1350, yikes.
True jeep people hate the duck thing, most people with ducks on their dash buy them.
I know people that have ducks left on their jeeps in parking lots!
@islandwatch maybe some, but must are purchased. I'm in Florida, my jeep is my daily driver. Since the duck invasion, just 1 duck was left on my jeep. 2001 2 door wrangler. Good to see Marathon is behind this, because Jeep fuc*ed up really bad with their cheap boots made by Merrell.
interesting.
I own a Jeep, I think I might need one!
Ehh...at that price I'll have to pass. I have other hobbies that I can use that money on.
Ha! Got it. But it is the same price as every other GSAR model.
Years ago i paid $3.500 for a rubber Duckie it came with a free Hot tub 😗
Ba$$ t-shirt.
:)
Jeep guy and Marathon owner... hate these brandings
Sorry!
You lost me at $1500. I’m not buying a watch that says Jeep on it for that much. I have a Jeep though and I know they will sell a few.

Won’t wear anything that says jeep on it. Bad mistake. Exudes cheapness and unreliability
Sorry to hear!
Also sorry. Love my Rubicon 392. But you probably don’t know anything that specific about Jeep.
