I will be 79 in October 2021, and happy I travelled on my own dime, from age 20-73. I was born, educated, and earned all my income from working.. I share most generously with non beggars. Acapulco and Singapore were the only places I wanted to retire, but the earthquakes and the expensive cost of living were the deal breakers. There is no reason for people living and dying on the streets. Replace the incomes, when you shut down incomes. My choice was to work, travel, and help where I could with both hands.

My daughter got two broken tooth fixed. Her mom entire teeth cleaned and mine also cleaned out. Everything cost $60; in Nigeria
I love your videos. They are so informative and positive also. Please keep up the good work.
Thanks Ann! 💗
Wow !
Bless you and hope you continue to live your long fulfilled life as you already have been .
@@queenb9668 You are so welcome and bless you also. I have to give credit to God and my no nonsense parents.
Happy birthday :)
You're awesome, Stephanie! You'Re in a good mood, laughing, and doesn't seem overwhelmed, stressed out or lacking anything abroad. Do you want to add the safety point in your list? How do you avoid booking in the wrong neighborhood for instance? Or using a cab and being overcharged since you don't recommmend taking your car?
I don’t know why you video came up on my page but, I’m so glad it did! Proud new subscriber ❤️
I'm glad too! Welcome Friend. 💗
Your videos give me hope and a path forward.
I just learned a painful lesson about storing belongings, especially things like computers. The outlets in the US are generally different from those in other countries. So you would need a converter, or perhaps see if you can replace those plugs with one that will work in your target country.
So machine equipment (sewing machines) bought in the United States would not function when taken abroad?
@@rukiyakitwano4822 It depends on the country. Mexico operates on 127 volts / US 120 volts so no problem. But in other countries you'd need a converter. Some electrical appliances just aren't worth taking with you elsewhere.
@@StephaniePerry Thank you 😊
Yep. I have a TEFL and Teach English online. I LOVE IT!
Thanks Stephanie......can't wait to post my video of me moving to Morocco this fall.
Can't wait to see it Sophia! 💗
Hello, Stephanie. I just found your channel and subscribed. I'm in my 60's and hoping to retire soon, so that I can travel the world. I'll be watching you! Thank you.
Welcome Michele! 💗
I have the book We Out. It is so informative and rings true
Missed the "live" but great info as always.
Thanks JW. 💗
Your videos has changed my life. Can you Talk about phone services when in and out of a country. I have found its very expensive to call and receive calls while in another country. You are changing lives one video at time. Peace and Blessings
Always a pleasure to see Lovely Stephanie, and get valuable info.
Found your website by accident, so interesting. What a beautiful person you are, love hearing your advice.
Good morning blessings 🙌from Los Angeles, Ca...I've been watching your videos and I love them, I'm a new subscriber and hope to meet up with you someday!
Accidentally stumbled on your RUclips channel, now I'm a fan. The advice, information, and guidance I was looking for were very helpful in this video. Thank you, Stephanie, 🙏
God bless you! Thank you for conquering this topic.
Use Paypal too if you run like coaching or consulting. They work in most countries. Transferwise is great- the fees are low- it's for intercountry money.
Still trying to decide on where to go. I thought Mexico, Guadalajara specifically, was going to be the place, but I’ve been having a difficult time wrapping my mind around the sanitation/plumbing issues. So I’m still looking...
Can you get to Guadalajara for a visit? Newer construction in Guadalajara has good plumbing.
@@StephaniePerry Hi Stephanie, thanks for the info. I need to ask you some questions. I think your coaching services are just for potential house sitters or for people who want to be nomadic, correct? I don’t fall into those categories, but I was wondering if I could contact you for my questions via your online site anyway.
@@melissadperkins2988 - Another expat suggested never moving to anyplace you haven’t visited at least 5 times. This way, you have a first hand experience - not rumors, bad info, other’s opinions, or outright lies. Visiting means YOU see the place for YOURSELF.
@@bumblebee4024 Thanks for your input. I don't think I can afford to visit anywhere five times (money nor timewise). When this pandemic calms down, I plan to do some onsite investigation. At this time, I'm trying to narrow down the field by gathering as much information as I can. When I move, I'm moving for good. I'm not coming back to the States, so my decision has to be one that I can live with for quite some time.

I love your story about Harriet Tubman, as I've heard many times. It reminds me of my ancestors which were famous Conductors on the Underground Railroad on the Mason-Dixon Line and in Philadelphia.

Very informative and entertaining. I have been researching travelling abroad for the long term for the last year and a half; unfortunately, the quarantines have put a damper on my starting out. I love the detail in the info that you put out. Something for me to include in my plans.

Glad you mentioned about the internet in Johannesburg. I went 5 years ago and the wifi was practically nonexistent! They rip off foreigners with Vodacom sim cards that cost ridiculous amount for data.
Also Dominican Republican no wifi at my 5 star Wyndham resort, not even in their business center (it was down the whole trip). That led to one of the worst solo travel experiences ever! I forgot to bring my printed transfers, driver refused me transport me without it. Had to pay a taxi $100 usd additional.
Thank you for sharing this
I hope you know how valuable your info is to us...many blessings to you. I have to figure out how to make a change and you my lady are sent straight from Yaweh❤

Hey Steph, seen some of your videos here and there randomly and I'm half-way through this one and really interested to see it through and perhaps go watch some of your other ones. I'm neither a woman, nor am I African diaspora, nor am I American, but the stuff you say really resonates nonetheless. I'm in Canada, in the middle of a career sabbatical (think I'd watched your other video last year and it was part of the research I did) and I'm soon going to be fulfilling my life dream of moving to Japan and I'm lucky enough to do it with my beautiful amazing partner.
Keep making amazing stuff and stay safe.
Thanks so much Ash! I hope you both enjoy Japan! 💗
Elderly father with COPD and CHF is keeping me in the states... but if I could go, I would. Will definitely continue to watch your videos for a future exit. Very valuable information. 💕👌🏾
Take your father with you. If you go to a low cost country you can afford to hire in home help for your Dad. Just a suggestion.

@@ready2travel226 I want to take my mom on some of my travels. She had a stroke four years ago and is now ready to get back into some activities. When I asked her recently if she would like to go to Mexico, her face lit up! I was surprised. So I googled handicap beach access in Mexico and discovered a beach that caters to disabled people. They have sand chairs, water chairs and helpers to take people into the water. My mom loves the water (Pisces, go figure). I can’t wait to take her there. Your dad may want to travel too. There are options, we just have to think out of the box.
What is a long range plan for getting older? What happens when we are older and not travelling so much?

HI. I need advice. I have been traveling and looking for "the place" for years. I had even bought property in Costa Rica and ended up selling it. I lived in Panama for three years. While in the Army, and after, I found countries that I liked where the people were warm and friendly but I found the poverty, stray dogs, corrupt police, substandard infrastructure, etc, distressing. On the other hand, in the the places that where I could see myself living (Europe), the people I encountered were cold and aloof. I'm looking for a middle ground. Any suggestions?

One of my main concerns regarding house sitting is that a weirdo may have undetectable cameras in the bedroom and bathrooms. Is that a crazy fear?
It's not but there are devices you can buy that will scan rooms for hidden cameras

How does social security income work or does it?
Your social security money will still be deposited into your account, and you access it from wherever you are. As long as you aren't in a country with an economic embargo. Here's a post from AARP: www.aarp.org/retirement/social-security/questions-answers/collecting-social-security-abroad.html

I'm so glad you put this video out. What a coincidence. I was just telling my son that it is time to pack it up and get out of dodge. I love Mexico but love the greenery of the UK so its a toss up between Mexico and the UK because its getting extra out of control in the USA.
I hope you follow the news. It's very out of control in UK.
Portugal is very green...
I was born in the USA, this is where my struggle is for my people that lives in the USA. There is no place safe and I do not require safe to fulfill my purpose here in the USA where God placed me. The only people I would trust in Africa are the mountain people, the mystics spiritual and hill people, mabe one day I will visit. Wishing nothing but the best for Africa.
I'm with you. To make a short story long: After many years of world travel, I am ready to return home to the USA. With all its thorns and sores (too numerous to name), I have not found a better place for me. When I told friends and family that I wanted to leave the U.S. permanently, they told me to stay and fight. I told them that I have been fighting all my life and at my age I am tired and that all I want is peace. But now as I wrap up my stay in Spain, I realize that at 65 I still have a lot of fight in me. I am happy for sisters who have found peace elsewhere. It is a beautiful thing. As for me, I have some unresolved issues with the USA.
I'm soo sorry I missed this chat. Can't wait until the next one! You are a wonderful resource!
