some total genuine LOL moments in that show. the bit where Orm stroked Freya when she was sleeping had me literally crying, was so sudden and unexpected.
I rate this a one of the best satirical commodities ever. Nice nods to Monty Python, Spinal Tap and the continual juxtaposition between modern management speak and violent barbarians is the gift that keeps giving. A faultless production in every aspect. I heard the cast did two scenes for each take one in English and one in Norwegian. It only makes me wonder which versions were funnier. I love the accent as it created another level of comedy for English speakers. The violence of the men was only surpassed by the women’s politics. Passive aggression of mass destruction, terrifying! Freya’s cock necklace.... what a hero arc.
Still hate Netflix for cancelling this show while it had good ratings, great reviews, strong community fandom. Just so stupid to kill something with long term potential for legacy. Whatever did they make before and after it? It's been many years since Netflix made anything worth while. I wish they had lost the streaming wars.
@@The_KJ8 yeah the 3 seasons. Same as on Netflix. But there could have been more. I don't think you understood my comment. Your answered a question: where to find the seasons to watch. I never asked that question. Also, the NRK TV demands both geolocation (to bypass with vpn), but also requires "bank ID" which is only for Norwegians, whilst most viewers of Norsemen (instead of Vikingane) are, like myself, not Norwegian.
Look. It wasn't netflix that cancelled the show. The show was paid for and originally aired by NRK (The Norwegian Broadcasting Company). Netflix just bought the rights to air it. So stop blaming Netflix for it. The very first season was aired on Norwegian tv in 2016, then in 2017 that same season was aired in english to anyone who bought the rights for it. If anything, you should thank Netflix for atleast giving you all that was available at the time. Now, why NRK cancelled the show is the right question and one that deserves an answer. That answer is money. It always comes down to money.
@@Nephilim2001 whaaatt? Of course! How foolish of me. Thank you. Sorry for your frustration.Sorry and my thanks to Netflix. ..... so but wasn't the Norwegian show a big hit on Norwegian networks? Was it just too costly? Couldnt Netflix have coinvested in a new season? Why did english media not mention that the Norwegian network didnt re-engage? Netflix is corporate and did the promotion. Don't they like to spin the narrative? ... no, actually nevermind. You might have sort of cured my frustration. And with it, the need of the quest, offers closure. Establishes the lore of a rabbit hole. Because somebody finally said something insightful about it. I mean, i would still love another season. But thanks!
@@Nephilim2001 wait are you saying there is a 4th season, but it was in Norwegian?? The preseason. So not only were some or all of the 3 generally known seasons filmed in both English and Norwegian, but also there was an even earlier preseason in Norwegian? There's more storylines?
The entire show was amazing. We need more of this type of humor, it sucks that NRK (Norwegian broadcasting dept.) didn't continue even if the Netflix deal ended.
Well, yeah, exactly my thought too. Why not make more Norsemen for Norwegian TV. On the other hand new comedy shows and movies will come. There are countless shows and movies produced in Norway with different plots and themes
This show is beautiful, bring it back
