I'm new. Just came in from my first mean hive. I can't even make it up...I jumped in the field and crawled trying to get them off. Then I see your opening and feel a little better. How is that an instinct? So strange I just started plowing through the grass like an animal. Seriously, I was blanketed.
I'm ordering a queen know for here gentle disposition. Yet my hive is in a garden here in NYC and it's the only location is can be--so I'm stuck with it. Yet it gets sun early morning all the way to 2:30, then is in shade the rest of the day. Should this be a problem?
Good video sir I think you hit that one on the head I always as a rule of thumb if I get into honey bees that are ugly I replace the queen as you know LOL I will not tolerate ugly good video PS my friend I want to see the copy of yesterday's be meeting when you get it ready please sir
Hello ya I had a few hives that requeened there self this spring and I can tell them are a little hotter now . Probably a little hotter than they should be so after the flow I plan to requeen then . Thanks
I have a hive of saskatras bees, it was calmed the first year, after that they became nastier than killer bees. I got that hive for 4 years now haven't got rid of it because it produces the most honey, and when you make splits none of the splits are aggressive.
Why would a swarm be mean? I had a large size swarm I tried to shake, they were all over me. Had several that followed me quite a ways away when I walked off. It's the first time I'd ever had easily a couple dozen bouncing the vail at my face.
I've been in the bee's are agreesive because it's in the genetics i Love The bees a little agreesive but not to be so mean they would run a beekeeper out of his apiary

I think that means the hive is too big..their space too small..
BetterBee sells 15mil reusable nitrile gloves that bee can't sting through.

Could be weather or genetics of the bees. Or mite overload
Do we have africanized bees in texas? I watch the bee guy and aparently arizona has been consumed by them.
You betcha we do.
