    This bakkie puts the other bakkies to shame interior wise and spec wise and at R889 000 it's very competitive compared to its competitors. I would say that the Amarok is a close second. The Ranger Platinum is expensive but you can get demos closer to R889k which is the selling price for it so it brings in that conundrum. The Amarok Aventura is just expensive.
    But you should be able to get it for slightly cheaper than the recommended price which is still a saving. Getting a full spec luxury bakkie for less than 850k whereas the normal is mid spec at those prices. Even a top spec hilux is just midspec compared to it

    Great Review! EVERY 4 CARS YOU SEE A GWM/HAVAL IS PART OF THEM if not a Chery or any other a Chinese vehicle, that shows growth especially in a brand loyal country like ours. Jeremy Clarkson did say we will all be driving chinese cars and its happening FAST.
    Even the haters love this beast, bo I'd rather buy this and that 😂im talking of that bakkie that usually ends up in Mozambique and Zimbabwe, excellent Job GWM. One thing about the Chinese they listen, when people complain they fix stuff fast unlike the Germans who will milk consumers.
    Also its not a pavement queen check the Australian reviews they took it to its limits. 9.6 on consumption is good for such a heavy and massive bakkie.
    If you laughing at the Chinese you must be stuck in the past really. Or narrow minded. The pricing of this vehicle is spot on. The drive is excellent, the specs are unmatched, the warranty and service plan is incredible, the comfort and sound system is proper, Harman Kardon, and the build quality TOP.

    For the money and reliability I’ll go for Isuzu or Mitsubishi. But this is the pick of GWM P500 range. Solid effort and I love the tailgate, sunroof and rear window. But how I work my vehicles I need to know it will last 500k km or 10 years. But really this is the best I have seen from China and also the 18 “ gives you much more options for proper offer road tyres which I need.

      @ I’m South African… bakkies are in our DNA. ;). But if the Chinese rethink their hybrid system to utilise hybrid diesel electric system rather than petrol(stupid European and American logic), then you will see a monster of a bakkie like the hilux. Huge torque, quick enough & fuel efficient even more so. But I see BMW, Toyota and such have gone away from hybrid and going hydrogen fuel cell, so maybe they are onto something.

      @tendamudzimugoza5402 how is it high risk ? As in maintenance is expensive or resale value is non existent? Mostly for me I feel the ranger might have superior suspension but I still have to test the p500 when in comes to us plus the option of the v6 is undeniable

    My guy you don't have to be too technical on reviews, we're Africans and we don't really care about fake vents and most of us won't even notice the smallness of the tires. Most of you are inspired by the Western and European car journalists and you don't have to cos we really don't relate much with what they like and hate in cars. When reviewing a car we really don't care how you feel about it especially if you didn't tell us that you want to tell us your opinion about the product. We only want to know about the features not your likes and dislikes then that's a review. The Western and European car journalists will mostly tell you their opinions and how they feel about the product not what you supposed to know about it. Not trying to be negative but I wish our guys would come up with their own way and style of reviewing cars without sounding like foreign reviewers from the West n Europe

    • @kumbimoncars
      @kumbimoncars  2 дня назад +9

      When I’m technical, “im too technical” when I don’t mention it, it’s “he doesn’t know what he’s talking about” or “the brand is paying him”. I think I try to cater for every viewer, because some viewers also want the technicalities. 🙏🏽

      We don't want to know about features alone. We need opinions because a majority of people who watch reviews will most probably never get to drive cars let alone go view them. If we want to know about features we can go to the website and download spec sheets. Living with the car and knowing the technicalities is very important
