Now you NEED to see the movie. Do a livestream. edit: this might sound stupid in 2022 but make sure you watch the widescreen version. Or you lose a lot of the feel.
Wait.. You Guys have never heard of "The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly"? The original bad-a** spaghetti Western? One of Clint Eastwood's earliest epic's? Hold on to your cowboy hats! There's a reason this music was famous~
Quentin Tarantino has called The Good, the Bad and the Ugly the best directed film of all time. The soundtrack is by Ennio Morricone and Tarantino used some of it in Kill Bill 2
You never heard of the movie "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" starring Clint Eastwood? It's a Western and this music is IN the movie. Yes, there is hanging going on in the movie. No, guitars are not usually a part of an orchestra. However they are sometimes used depending on what type of piece they will be playing, especially if it is a cinematic piece (movie music) or even orchestral versions of famous rock songs, especially music by the Beatles, ELO, etc.
"The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" is the last in a trilogy of movies directed by Sergio Leone and staring Clint Eastwood. The first movie, "A Fist Full Of Dollars" was a remake of Akira Kurosawa's, "Yojimbo". In this time frame westerns popularity had waned. But, there was a resurgence of the genre in Europe, specifically Italy. Dubbed, "Spaghetti Westerns", were mostly looked down upon in the U.S. This trilogy is arguably the best of them. Leone was a real visionary and had a real romanticized view of the American frontier. Eastwood wasn't interested, until he read the script, and as he was a fan of Kurasawa's work agreed to be, "The Man With No Name". And finally the amazing score by Ennio Moricone. This scene in the movie is beautiful. Not something you would see in an American movie, especially then. The movie is silent except for the score, and it's just a guy running through a graveyard...it's operatic...
The as you say "Wa Wa" Lady, Tuva Semmingsen, is an astronomical vocalist, try some more of her both with the Danish National Symphony and with other symphonies etc.
Woaaah...are we opening a whole new area of possible requests? Is this the start of yall listening to orchestral music? Classical music? Instrumental? Jazz too? Im so excited if so
Sometimes the music is above your pay grade... being so young you have very little knowledge of the past so cannot appreciate stuff like this... no fault of your own but it is what it is...The film is legendary!!!!!!!! A SPAGHETTI WESTERN OF NOTE. The movie soundtrack is world famous....
The song you reacted to in this clip was part of a concert performed by the DNS entitled "The Duel - Morricone Draws First". It featured several other compositions by Ennio Morricone (The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, For a fist of Dollars amd A few dollars more to name a few) as well as Bernard Herrmann, Nino Rota and Sonny Bono. All the songs were writtan for particular movies. The "hanged man" was a reference the Clint Eastwood movie "Hang "em High". The concert took place in 2018 and was conducted Sarah Hicks. The vocals were performed by Tuva Semmingsen (The "Wah wah" lady) & Christine Nonbo Andersen (The blond lady in the balcony). I heard this song while watching the movie in about 1968 when I saw the "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" at a theater for the first time. 54 years is a long time for memories of a movie to stay fresh.
Pretty sure that "the hanged man" is a reference to "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" as "the hanging scam" carried out by "Blondie" and "Tuco" was a big part of the story. "The Ecstasy of Gold" theme deals with the climactic final scenes of the movie when "Tuco" is driven almost mad in his pursuit of the buried loot.
The hanged man is in reference to the plot of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", in which Blondie and Tuco ran a scam operation. Blondie turned in Tuco to the local sheriff of a town, collected the reward, waited for the day of Tuco's hanging and then helped Tuco to escape the execution. "Hang 'em High" is NOT a "spaghetti western and has nothing to do with the "Man With No Name" trilogy, "A Fist Full of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More" and "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", filmed in that order.
The Good (Clint Eastwood), The Bad (Le Van Cleef) and the Ugly (Eli Wallach) is the classic revenge driven spaghetti Western with a tense, inspired three way shootout duel at the end... very worth the watch!
It's a travesty that after decades in film & dozens of soundtracks, *Ennio Morricone only received an HONORARY Oscar(Clint Eastwood presented it to him).* This is a great movie & soundtrack!

the film was from a genre known a spaghetti westerns as the director sergio leone was italian, they were mostly filmed in spain and more bloody and violent then traditional westerns. clint eastwood and lee van cleef were the biggest stars. a fistful of dollars was the first film in this genre. clint eastward was not the first choice either. henry fonda, james coburn and charles broson were being considered the someone showed sergio leone some footage of rawhide that clint eastward was staring in at the time. clint eastwood was under contract because of rawhide tv series was was ot allowed to make films in america, but because these films were filmed in europe there was not a problem.
The final scene, the cementery was rebuilt by common people, most of them from the Spanish village near that ground. When they finished, with the help even from people comming from France and other parts of Spain, the entire village watched the film there, as tribute. But before, there was a recording of many famous including Clint Eastwood saying "thank you very much" for keep the memory of the film and the grat experience for the ordinary people of that village participating in the film, their fathers and even granfathers. Tourists can visit. The village of Contreras, Burgos (Spain) - Cementerio de Sad Hill.
Note: The fictional setting of that cemetery, however, was in the U.S., specifically in Texas. The American Civil War battle ear the end of the movie was supposed to take place in Texas. Sergio Leone, erroneously, did not know that Texas was not known for big battles during the American Civil War but Leone preferred Texas to fit in with the American/Mexican desert towns settings of his other "Man With No Name" films. Eastwood later acted in "The Outlaw Josey Wales", also a story set in the American Civil War and also set largely in Texas. While these movies were filmed in Spain, the intended imagery and storylines were about the American/Mexican desert frontier region.
Yes, it's tragic that reactors usually stop with this one when the other two are so spectacular, and, frankly, their performance from "Once Upon a Time in the West" is also great.
The actual title of the song is “The Ecstacy of Gold”. It was the title song for the movie “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.” The good the bad and the ugly were the 3 main characters that were semi working to find some stolen gold. The wah-wah girl is an excellent opera singer in her own right. Gotta watch the movie starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach. The Italians loved westerns and when they started making their own they were called Spaghetti Westerns. Sergio Leone was a premier director and Ennio Morricone was the songwriter. The music was always top notch movie specific, none of that cheating out trying to wedge a popular song into the movie. This was one of a Trilogy that Eastwood did called The Man With No Name trilogy. The other two were A Fistful of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More. For a humorous Spaghetti Western watch the Trinity trilogy
Leave it to Lex to immediately notice the soprano in the upper balcony. She's not even mic'd up, and she just cuts through all of it. Epic piece, perfectly delivered. And as everyone else already said (a year ago LOL), the movie is what makes sense of the entire piece. Watch it. Please. LOL
The soprano does have a tiny microphone attached to her head. By the way; Lex went for the two first notes, jokingly, and sounded like a decent mezzo soprano.
To fully understand the grandeur of it all, you have to know the work of Ennio Morricone and Sergio Leone. A partnership that changed the Western genre forever. Italian Director American actors Filming in Spain The famous Spaghetti Western It made Clint Eastwood one of the biggest stars of the genre.

True, I'd also add the Where Eagles Dare (1968) and Zulu (1964) themes and someone else also mentioned Basil Poledouris... another legend.
Watched it when I was 10 years old. It’s still my favourite movie.
This is one of the most recognizable movie themes of all time To arguably the biggest western of all time it’s actually a mash up of the good the bad and the ugly theme and another song of his called the ecstasy of gold. Check out more by Enrico Marrone. I absolutely love your videos but sometimes I swear to God it’s like you’re from space and you just landed on this planet
I gotta go with 'The Outlaw Josey Wales' as best Western of all time . Just my opinion . 💁
LOL from space. yea Lex is adorably innocent at times :) . I like their chemistry together, I'd love to see them do the movie review now.
🤣🤣yeah
That's part of the fun of watching them listen to stuff. As an older person, I often either shake my head or laugh out loud at some of the things they say about the music they are listening to that they don't know anything about. You cannot expect younger folks to have all the same knowledge of musical things us older folks know, but it's great to see them giving it it chance and thinking about it.
@@cpprcrk1833 Two Mules for Sister Sarah was just as good.
Guys! It’s from the most famous spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood
Can we also mention "The Ecstasy of Gold", which is a masterpiece in itself! Plus.... anyone that has ever attended a METALLICA concert, knows the significance of that Song! Literal chills!
I know! I wasn’t expecting that and I got chills. I’m like oh man Metallica!
OH its so haunting but so beautiful at the same time!
One of the greatest masterpieces of music!
Now you NEED to see the movie. Do a livestream. edit: this might sound stupid in 2022 but make sure you watch the widescreen version. Or you lose a lot of the feel.
When Lex started imitating the sopran, Brad's gaze was priceless. Like, more confusion added. 😀
Greatest soundtrack for a movie ever.
Wait.. You Guys have never heard of "The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly"? The original bad-a** spaghetti Western? One of Clint Eastwood's earliest epic's?
Hold on to your cowboy hats! There's a reason this music was famous~
It's spelled 'badass', you're welcome ; )
The original badass spaghetti western would be A Fistfull of Dollars.
@@JasonCone Followed by A Few Dollars More and the 3rd one was The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
ENNIO MORRICONE:ONE OF THE GREATEST COMPOSERS EVER...ANY GENRE
The most iconic spaghetti western theme period,,,"sounds kind of western to me".
Quentin Tarantino has called The Good, the Bad and the Ugly the best directed film of all time. The soundtrack is by Ennio Morricone and Tarantino used some of it in Kill Bill 2
He has, and in some later interviews, he has called it the greatest film of all time.
No matter what's your favorite genre of music, there's nothing more beautiful and hypnotic to see than an orchestra.
It's the story of Tuco, Blondie and Angel Eyes !
Yeah, with Blondie and Tuco having some kind of rope bondage thing going on ... that's why there's a puppet hanging from the ceiling.
Some of the best soundtrack music ever created, by the legendary Ennio Morricone.
Probably the best Western ever made in the 60s. CLASSIC. CLINT EASTWOOD. WATCH IT. AWESOME.
MetallicA been opening their shows with the second part of this killer symphony (the extasy of gold) for 40 years! yeah!! 😎🤘
🤘🤘
Watch the movie this piece is from. It'll all make sense. One of the best western films ever made!
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly has dialogue…
@@WorldwideWyatt meh... I meant the graveyard scene was without dialogue, not the whole movie... My bad...
Great movie with great actors
The as you say "Wa Wa" Lady, Tuva Semmingsen, is an astronomical vocalist, try some more of her both with the Danish National Symphony and with other symphonies etc.
"You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig."
Notice that Tuco is given a punishment worse than death in the end. He gets all the gold he could ever dream of but he had no way to take it with him.
Woaaah...are we opening a whole new area of possible requests? Is this the start of yall listening to orchestral music? Classical music? Instrumental? Jazz too? Im so excited if so
one of the greatest movies ever made
RIP ennico. It's a Clint Eastwood Movie I seen this movie I don't know how many times and it's a classic
You got to catch all of Clint Eastwood’s spaghetti westerns from the 60s. Can’t be well rounded people missing them.
This movie has the greatest ending gunfight ever filmed.
If you haven't seen the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, you have to watch it! Its a masterpiece!
THE BEST ITALIAN MOVIE EVER MADE!!!
Its for the movie. Very western cowboy vibes. Also Metallica live shows opened with this.
This really makes you appreciate the sound tracks that are playing while you are watching a movie!
A timeless masterpiece. ZERO errors. Flawless. Brad ALMOST couldn’t pause…
Spaghetti western...Sergio leone director and Ennio Morricone composer !!! Italian style!!!
I cannot believe you guys have never seen a gr8 American classic such as "The good, the bad,and the ugly"
American?
It ain't American.
Even if you haven't seen the movie I've heard it all over TV. Even current Modelo beer commercials use it.
the hanging man is Tuco, this is a legendary performance of the greatest western ever
The Good (Clint Eastwood), The Bad (Le Van Cleef) and the Ugly (Eli Wallach) is the classic revenge driven spaghetti Western with a tense, inspired three way shootout duel at the end... very worth the watch!
I think to remember that Clint knows, that Eli haven't got any bullets in his, given gun, so he only has to look for Le to react!
Notice that this same circle was used for a duel in "For A few Dollars More" but Clint and Lee were on the same side as "business partners".
Theres two kind of spurs my friend. Those coming by the door, and those coming by the window....
It's a travesty that after decades in film & dozens of soundtracks, *Ennio Morricone only received an HONORARY Oscar(Clint Eastwood presented it to him).* This is a great movie & soundtrack!
Well the intelligencia class of hollywood really looked down their noses at spaghetti western. So not that surprising.
He got an oscar for The Hateful Eight too, but yeah...way, way, way over due.
He got so many great moviethemes.
@@AjaxTotaalnl - Really? I guess the honorary Oscar shamed them into giving him a real one. Better than nothing I guess.
@@CARTOONIVERSE1 Yeah, he should have had at least between 6 or 10 Oscars.
@@AjaxTotaalnl - He definitely should have gotten one for The Mission soundtrack. Beautiful score.
Classic movie with Clint Eastwood!!!
A classic of the soundracks from one of the GOATs, Ennio Morricone, superbly executed.
Find the "Modelo Beer" commerical and you will hear them use a piece of this music, you have hearrd this before. Not to mention thatt the moive is one of the greatest everr made!!
Muse
People have pointed this out, including Brad, Lex has a good singing voice. Maybe untrained - I don’t know, but it’s there. Anyway, nice reaction y’all.
The best theme to any western movie ever.
Good grief. I didn’t know there was anyone alive who didn’t know this was the theme of a western.
Thank you for helping me get through lockdown!!! I love, love, love you guys. One of my Bro's favorites!!!
From the Clint Eastwood western movie of the same name.
the film was from a genre known a spaghetti westerns as the director sergio leone was italian, they were mostly filmed in spain and more bloody and violent then traditional westerns. clint eastwood and lee van cleef were the biggest stars. a fistful of dollars was the first film in this genre. clint eastward was not the first choice either. henry fonda, james coburn and charles broson were being considered the someone showed sergio leone some footage of rawhide that clint eastward was staring in at the time. clint eastwood was under contract because of rawhide tv series was was ot allowed to make films in america, but because these films were filmed in europe there was not a problem.
The woman singing the "wah-wahs" did it along with the harmonica, as it was done in the original recording.
Two more of these by the same orchestra to fill out the Trilogy: A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More. All three amazingly done 👍.
Yes, it's tragic that reactors usually stop with this one when the other two are so spectacular, and, frankly, their performance from "Once Upon a Time in the West" is also great.
This movie is like my most favorite movie
The man hanging is the theme for the movie.
Ennio Morricone is one of the greatest musical composers of the 20th century- end of, and the best soundtrack composer of all time.
Great trilogy of movies.
Ecstasy of Gold (the second half of this video) is one of my all time favorite tunes. The Danish Symphony are superb but nobody sings it like Susanna Rigacci. Also, Metallica do a great cover.
Metallica did a cover?
I know it's always been their intro song, but they don't really play any of it themselves ...or do they?!

Hey what's up guys! Greetings from South Florida! That was so good! I love theatrical scores, and movie soundtracks. The Sound of Music, the King & I, South Pacific, Song of the South, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and so many other great soundtracks. My mom love this stuff, and it's what I listened to as a kid. You guys rock! God bless you! Peace!
Just watch the movie and it all will make sense.
this is chilling
a soundtrack that becomes a piece of art
Gives me chills...every freaking time...sending me straight back to the movie.
Even though this version is too "clean" a sound. The original "dusty" sound is better, like listening to an LP you heard many times
I envy Brad & Lex for getting to see this for the first time together. It's an extraordinary example of one of the many ways music can be made by talented people!
Posted 4 minutes ago, comment 2 minutes ago, "Great reaction guys!" the reaction however is over 9 minutes long.. seems legit buddy!
A lot of their reactions are recorded during their live streams. there is a good chance they watched it then.
