I thought the same thing, but I can listen to VM *if* it was received before I went out of cell service. Since her phone was off when she got the VM - no way she would have gotten them without cell service. Totally agree.
@@palaemon There is nothing that dictates that voice mail can only be streamed. There isnt a technical limitation. It is just that people rather stream it because they usually have less storage space on their phone and since it is a GSM phone they need to be connected both ways regardless. It is kinda pointless to download voice mails, but it doesnt mean one technically can not do it...
I was so excited to see this movie. I love a strange sci-fi like being john malkovich or even vivarium which a lot of people disliked. This movie had potential but fell flat on its face at the end.
Anybody have a working theory on what the end is supposed to mean? I realize the saved or dead thing is purposefully left ambiguous but the thematic meaning seemed a little up in the air too. Are they hapless humans stuck in bubbles of their own making? Are they now pets because they could not fend for themselves?
I didn’t really like this movie. It did have a good message, but overall pretty bad at being a comedy. Practically the only two jokes in this movie are the main characters being pretty incompetent, and the fact that the aliens that are invading Earth are hairballs. The main characters being incompetent is at first kind of funny, but it just gets old at the end. The aliens being hairballs is.... funny? I guess? I don’t know it was just a pretty weak joke. The middle is unbearably slow. It was only around 7: 30 and I was starting to fall asleep. At the end the movie seems to forget that it’s a comedy, with the one main characters being incompetent joke being an exception. At that point it’s just old anyways. The ending is pretty weak as well. It feels as if the director just got lazy and ended the movie there. Also they were so lazy that they didn’t even show the news program on the phone. In around the end Jack says “What the hell is that?!” whole looking at his girlfriend’s phone. They are just leaving us at that? It’s just such an unsatisfying end. What even happens to everyone when they are abducted in those crystal capsule things? Do they just die? Do they get sent to another planet? What about the people who didn’t go near the crystals? This movie is just plain lazy in the end! Really all they could do was send voicemails to the actress’ phone? Also this movie made me more sad then it made me laugh. We see a baby’s parents get killed in the end for christ sake. Anyways, that’s all I can really rant about the movie. It is kind of funny in the beginning I guess. I’d give it around a 5/10.
I enjoyed it mostly but it certainly wasn't hilarious and yeah to me the ending made 0 fucking sense. Why would they kill all humans, drink gas and randomly fly humans of to space. Ending killed it. Jack was cool and chick

Oh- I just realized the losing of the contact lens signified one eye symbolism, so able to see truth/past the veil finally

I just finished watching the movie. I was feeling like this movie should have been a series, but I really like the chemistry.
Saving yourself from technology/traps of fake society, but ending was just soooo hmmmm, so meh
Sounds like a very tame version of Critters and the creatures look like popples from the 80's. I'll give it a go, always willing to give movies a try.
