Hope you guys enjoy this video - an amazing adventure ans a few crafty pro tips from the man himself, legendary fly fisherman and all round good guy Tony Entwistle. The weather was a bit variable hence some of the colours are off and there's a bit of wind - Apologies - that was how it was out there battling the elements 🤔😂 Tight lines, nza
How fortunate to be able to spend time on the water with Mr. Entwistle, one of the ‘Senior Hands’ of Kiwi flyfishing. (A few years ago I had a few days with Chappie Chapman, also in that league.) Their sheer wealth of experience is enough to make you marvel. Oh, nice fish too!
Great video mate, looks like there's another part coming up to this story. I shall look forward to that one. It doesn't get much better than 1 of the great kiwi Pioneers in Mr Entwistle. Such a good all round easy going bloke with a wealth of knowledge in the fly fishing arena.
Video saved in my ‘Trout Fishing Important’ folder to refer back to later - lots of little gems of knowledge - thanks for sharing - Tony appears to be a walking encyclopaedia of trout fishing lore..
As someone that’s made a living guiding my whole life; I know an old pro when I see one. Tony’s got that easy going nature that all the best have! Cheers!
This is probably one of the most informative videos I've ever watched, and it's not even a tutorial! It's great to see that I have been doing some things correctly but I also learnt a lot. I'd love to go out with Tony for a day!
what is it about us fly fisherman that want/need to put or hands on the blank of the rod, right above the cork when fighting a fish? I sent in a rod for warranty that broke during a fight, the maker told me "if i want your hand that high up, i would have put cork there". lol I still do it. Great video.
Interestingly I saw a comment on Mike Kirkpatricks channel where someone said it breaks rods bur he said it's all technique. I use it to get more leverage, basically. With a 6 pounder a 5wt is working pretty hard. Thanks for watching hope you enjoy the channel 🏞️🔥
Really great video Ainsley, you will have benefited from a masterclass with Tony, it all helps shortcut the learning and he is one of the best.
He's a real legend 💯 hopefully I can learn a lot more from him! Glad you enjoyed 👌🏞️🔥
