Thanks A1! I'm a single woman taking care of my granddaughter so money is tight...thanks to your video I put in a new hub assembly and rotor and brakes myself and saves alot of money.. you rock!
Excellent video, pro tip for anyone having trouble removing the old hub try threading in the bolt so there's at least 4 threads in and hammering it with a socket and extension, lots of PB blaster and patience
"though you probably won't ever have to replace it again" if those new bearings are made in C H Y N A don't be too sure about that. Thumbs up for being the first vid on this that showed breaking the axle nut loose with wheel still on ground.
Thank you 1A AUTO both my wheel hubs came today and both were replaced today now let’s just hope I don’t run into any further problems anytime soon not only are they priced very good but as it was sad it’s a direct fit and exactly what I needed to get us back on the road safely
1A Auto Parts Thank you I will most Definitely look for parts through you guys for future projects And already told my brother-in-law I will fix his will hubs And have him ordering for you guys as well
+Justin Haycook Thank you for the great reply. We love to empower our customers by showing you how-to perform your own auto repairs while installing our high quality auto parts. Have a great day! 1aauto.com
Video helped me out tremendously! One note that I messed up. Make sure your ball joint nut is completely off before you hit the knuckle with a maul. The center post kept spinning and would not break free. I had to cut the post off and install a new upper ball joint.
The video never mentions this, but this is a 4WD Explorer. While the procedure is mostly the same for a 2WD Explorer, there is no axle or hub nut on the 2WD. I could have saved the cost of a 32MM socket and a high range torque wrench.
Good video, only thing I would never recommend is greasing the shims. The grease attracts the brake dust and can actually seize up the pads from sliding as intended. You should only grease the glide pins.
Looks like brand new compared to mine. Replaced mine the other day and the whole underneath is covered in rust. I had scale coming off everything, so I just replaced compete brake and hub, but never considered taking the center cap off for spindle nut. I used an impact
Hi, I was wonering what the toqrue spc for Hub bearing bolt, axle Nut (13mm), Brake caliper bracket, caliper and wheel Nut 2003 ord expedition 5.4l? thank you
Just finished! Took about 2 hours total. The only thing I would recommend doing differently is the following: 1. Wait to run the wiring harness until after you bolt everything (but the tire) on 2. If you are having trouble with removing the brake rotor then remove the three 15mm bolts for the gun and place the entire rotor/hub assembly on the ground. It's very easy to remove with the help of gravity
People seem to always challenge the Professionals that do these procedures daily. Always nice for the Novice to tell me how to preform my job better. Though I have been doing my profession for 20 yrs or better
I replaced my hub assembly on my 06 Ford Explorer. But when I brake. I get that pulsing feedback when I apply the brakes. I got pressure and everything. What did I do wrong. Please help

+dabosman43 Thank you for letting us know! If your sensor failed due to manufacturer's defect, you are entitled to a warranty replacement for these hubs. To find out if we sell the sensors by themselves, we would need more information about your vehicle in order to browse on your behalf.
+BancroftOutdoors We don't have a how-to video for your vehicle right now, but the basic steps in this video should be enough to do this task. Buy this part for your vehicle on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Nice how to vid! From a 58 year old grumpy guy that’s been wrenching for 45 years. Looks like the lower A frame was replaced. Hmm...... could that be why the hub was so easy to remove?
+Steven Triplett Thank you for checking us out. We do not currently have this type of video available, but we're constantly adding to our library. Keep checking us out! 1aauto.com
+Dieter Howe Cedeño Tighten the caliper bracket bolts to 122 foot-pounds Torque the caliper bolts to 53 foot-pounds Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
I went with a pair of Amazon front bearing assembly's for 120$. I really wanted the Moog's but ironically, the el cheapo's had less bad reviews. We'll see how long they last. If they go out "pre-maturely" on me, I'll just replace with Moog's. But yeah, can't beat the prices on some of the Amazon parts. Just have to make sure you buying a good part. I got some Amazon el cheapo coil packs last year, and they're still going strong, even though some reviews said they'd die on me in 3 months.
Remember that 184 foot pounds is most important you will need a torque wrench that torques over 200 foot pounds. Standard torque wrench only torque 160 you can rent one from Harvard Frate Auto zone dose not have them that torques over 200 foot pounds. One more thing Amazon part price is $54 for one side 120 for both sides free shipping.
+keyser soze You may want to check the front wheel for play. Usually you can do this by lifting the tire off of the ground, then grabbing the sides of the wheel to see if it moves back and fourth. If the wheel has play in it, then the wheel bearings may be bad. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com
Grease the caliper pad slide points when you had the caliper bracket off the car, not after you put the caliper bracket back on. This way you wont get grease on the Rotor.
+doug drefus Thank you for checking us out, as well as the information. This will assist other viewers complete the job and not get grease on the rotor! 1aauto.com
It's correct for the 4WD models. It doesn't show the process for a 2WD model, but to my knowledge the only difference is the hub nut removal and axle alignment with the hub.

Good work babe !! How is it holding up 1 year later?
4:58-5:12 you make that look so easy. I've been hammer bashing and prying on mine for about 3hr now. It's absolutely rust welded together.
Same here.
I hammered on on side and then once I got a small gap, squirted some marvel mystery oil in there. Everything broke free shortly after
All the bolts came out but it’s rust welded
Nice. Didn't see the hammer on the tool list 😱 in description.
Gonna look up the rear assembly now.

wow I have never seen a bearing hub that just falls out, lucky you

Great video! Clear and concise instructions and even torque specs! Thank you! :-)
Big help this video was. Got my job done a lot easier than I anticipated..

too bad you dont ship to Canada. great videos. the guy in this one did a great job even though you made him put those horrid brake parts back on

This looks like it will be a good time!
And I was wrong... it was a rust breaking exercise... it’s done...
Done these on a few cars this one seems pretty easy
Than you so much, a sport trac is a little different but this helped

thank you
Would you happen to know the original equipment part number for that hub assembly?
Those brake pads and rotors look ruffff
My truck doesn't have 32mm hub nut... kinda confused now.... this applies to an 09 too right?
It's probably not 4wd then. That is the axel nut
Hopefully you guys also changed those rotors. 🤔 Good video. Thanks.
If they spec’d out why replace? Just turn em.
Thanks Save me a lots of money. Great video.

5:00 lol "for some reason our hub comes out easily"
4:55 *sees like new subframe and lower control arms*
Thank you for the video! What grease do you use?
Does the new hub come with a new abs sensor as well???
Doorway to Heaven church of Jesus Christ yeah
Bought these and the abs sensor went bad ..... and an OEM Ford sensor won't fit into the trq hub.....do you sell sensors on website?

I take it bearings are pre greased ?

Nice how to vid!

I've always put the nut back on the axle if I have to hit it with a hammer. You won't mushroom your axle that way.
Is it the same install on a 07 Explorer 2WD?
Even easier don’t have to loose and tide the Axel nut
Sir, I need to see video of 1992 GMC truck about how remove crossmember before change transmission filter.

Remember this is a 4x4, you don't have a hub nut to worry about if it's a two wheel drive.
Amazon has front and rear full assembly for $145.

No play, but once I got the Bearing Hub Assembly off and turned it by hand , I could definately feel the grinding in the bearing. Thank You.
it sounds like you draqgging a dumpster sound..
Amazing how that HUB fell out, Let me think when that happened to me, NEVER
I'm soaking the shaft bolt with liquid wrench I'll tell you hit it goes.
I have never have one fall out or pull out with my hands.
Careful when hitting it from the back
Or u could use a dewalt impact

That's one crusty rotor😬
Sludge hammer 😆
Wimps. Just replace the bearing.
Jk
didn't show removal of that top hub bolt. its in a super odd position and tough to remove. Show the hard stuff for us newbies please.
