Man 113 Tanks lost with 13 tanks got captured in Battle of Cua Viet is insane because the US and South Vietnamese thought that they could use their hidden tatics against the exhausted North Vietnamese soldier but nope they lost on the battle
That’s not what happened at all. The battle took before the American ceasefire in Vietnam, so South Vietnam wanted to take the post of Cua Viet for an advantageous position on the peace table. US Marines and S. Vietnam forces attacked the port, and actually captured it because American taxpayer dollars are best used in bombs and bullets, and of course they suffered losses, because that’s how war works. After the US Marines took the port, and ceasefire commenced and only then did the North Vietnamese counterattack, encircling the U.S. Marines, disrupting their communication lines, and shelling them into oblivion. A South Korean destroyer was even destroyed trying to resupply the Marines, who eventually broke out anyways, because farmers with guns will never truly beat American manpower. TL;DR You’re wrong, American manpower won the battle, North Vietnamese fought dirty, and they lost a few tanks. Also, do you just think American tanks are indestructible? No, they’re gonna lose some because the North Vietnamese have Soviet AT missiles.
