I'm a complete novice and have to paint an entire house which is intimidating. These videos and tips give me the confidence to do a quality job and not waste time. Thanks!
These videos are incredible. Thank you for showing off your knowledge and experience.
Thanks, I'm glad you find the videos helpful!
Showing Off lol....or teaching:)
I've only painted the rookie way (a pan and a ton of tape). I'm on the 2nd coat in my baby's room and it's taking me forever. I decided to put my male ego aside and look up some tips. This is a HUGE help. I constantly had to refill the paint can, and I taped up the edges at the top of the room (when doing the ceiling), then taped up the ceiling when doing the top edges. This is a huge relief and time saver. Thanks man. Very informative and understandable. Keep up what you do!
I love it when people know their game, but also have a good attitude when teaching.
WOW my dad sold paint for 50 years so I have an idea of color and design. But he wasn't a painter. Golden stir stick to you. What a great tutorial!
Watched several tutorials and this was the MOST helpful by far! Thank you!
you did a great job explaining how to paint, I love watching your videos. Really enjoy them.
I had no plans on painting but now I'm going to find something to paint, thanks John
10 yr old video series standing the test of time. Love it.
We are painting our entire home and keep coming back to your videos to check in on the process. Thank you so much!
I've just finished painting my room. I wish I'd watched this video first! I'll know for next time. Thanks for taking the time to make this.
Thank you ever so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. It is really appreciated. At the moment we are in the process of attempting to paint a high ceiling which is over a stairwell and which is giving us a great amount of food for thought. Will try and use some of your ideas for the experience.
John you are amazing. Non-patronizing and caring for the viewer to get the details right. I salute you, sir!
Been watching RUclips videos on how to paint and cut and this is by far the best one. Thank you and God bless you.

SIMPLE & AWESOME INSTRUCTIONS FOR A NEW BEGINNER. BRAVO BRO !!!
As others have noted - your videos are the best I have seen - from the picture of the paint brush...holding the brush, directions of stokes, working in sections etc, lay on lay off etc....In the past I have used some of those techniques but not consistently. ...The best thing was the tip about what sound I should hear...because yesterday, I asked myself that exact question....now I know!!!! .....Hopefully I can correct the lap marks I have on my ceiling .... and then I'll move on to the walls with a lot more confidence....
If you haven't ..please consider doing video on removing popcorn .....with suggestions on how to finish the ceilings? Since I decided not to use the spray/hopper method, I watched ALOT of you tube videos using compound and trowel. I found it interesting that only one professional manually applied texture to an actual ceiling. They chose slanted ceilings and/or walls. Not one demonstrated how to hold the trowel, mixing different consistencies of "mud" and the varying results of each. .............However, through trial and error I am pleased with the result.
I did a big job and i really used my Purdy brush hard. I abused it, and it held up like a Champ. Thanks for your advice it really helped me.
Thanks for the video, one of the best I've seen on wall painting!
Thanks for these easy to understand, and apply tutorials John. I love the "lay on, lay off" techniques -reminded me of Karate Kid: "wax on, wax off" :-) Thanks again!
Awesome job! Thank you very much for this whole series! With that color the owner must be a Dolphin's fan!
Very helpful and carefully thought out. Thanks for being a great teacher
I'm truly loving this series.
Your prepping and painting videos are the best I've seen and really informative. Gives me confidence to try it my self. Thank you.
Love your work John.
Excellent. Best painting videos on RUclips!!!
Love these videos. I just finished removing a popcorn ceiling than painted the ceiling and walls. Used most of the tips in the video and they worked great. I did end up using the 2 1/2in. paintbrush. I think it's because my hands are small and upper body strength is not very good.
Another good video. Painting pro here, love the axe to the cheap brush! Like the music too.
nice color. very informative and you're a likeable guy so I learned all I needed too. awesome

Really good stuff and explained very well, Thank You very much for your time and work into making these great videos!
Very interesting tip also at the end regarding removal of the helpful masking tape, so often I have used the stuff for obvious protection & then when removed it takes half your work & paint with it??? AARGGHHH! Then have do again and re cut-in manually to the door architrave frames and scurtain or baseboards particularly, so annoying! Hands up anyone been there before.....????
Indeed the best painting videos.
