Hi guys I forgot to put in the title for riff number #68 its Holiday by The Scorpions :) Also Born to be wild came out in 1968, good tiems bad tiems 1969 and twilight zone was 1982, This is is what I get for trusting a sight that said 200 songs from the 70's lol my bad homies :( Annnnd 80 riffs from the 80's is already in the works woohooo.
My favorite thing about these videos is that Rob is such an unassuming, cool guy. He's an excellent player, but he doesn't come at it with a "look at what I can do" attitude. He's just a laid back guy having some fun with his friends on a Friday night. You see other guys do videos like this and they're titled "20 riffs that nobody can play right!" and stuff like that. Rob Baker's a breath of fresh air.
I grew up in the 70's... Music was the BEST! There were a handful of songs I didn't get but I got most of them. I'll have to say it was the best decade of music (closely followed by the 60's).
MONTROOOOSEEE! BLESS YOUR HEART FOR ACKNOWLEDING THAT THEY ACTUALLY EXIST! Ronnie is probably my favorite guitarists of all time and I love his work with Montrose, Gamma, and his solo shit. Awesome to see you recognize somebody who pioneered the metal industry.
got my first kiss to Alice Cooper's 18. i told her i had been waiting a year to tell her she was the only reason i was still hanging out with the crowd. she had just turned 18, i was 22. I will never forget that night, and i wish she was still around.
We heard you like sevens so we put sevens in your sevens so you can seven whilst you're sevening out to your sevens. Also, I got 20. I'm just gonna go ahead and play the "Born in the 90s" card as my excuse. I did also know a couple of songs that I just didn't recognize, I'm going to blame those on Roberto's playing. :)
You gotta do 2000 riffs from the 2000's and do every style from nu metal to metalcore to post hardcore to alternate rock to country to pop and everything
Robert great job! Loved seeing all the guitars and hearing all the different tones in the mix. One reason why some people have multiple guitars - "Tone". Thank you for doing what you do! A majority of what you played is what I was learning and jamming to back in those years. Those were some great times for all types of music!
Joe Walsh is criminally underrated. Thanks for including him. Love your channel man. Great quality videos with interesting ideas. Very inspiring. Cheers
A few things. 1st. Thank you 2nd. That crackle Orange/Black paint guitar is Awesome. 3rd. Were the guitars chosen for the songs? Like do they go better on one type of guitar than another? E.g. The ZZTop songs played on the Les Paul, is the Les Paul better to get them right. Or doesn't it matter?
No matter if some were from late 60's or early 80's it is still classic rock...THE BEST music of any generation....mid to late 60's to 80's is when music was real music. Yes even some of the hair metal is quite good...ok it is awesome too... but you did a great job.
i like your dirty style of playing. most people play riffs as clean as possible but then you just copy it, don't know if it's on purpose or not but music doesn't ask perfection, it asks style and personality. keep it up!

Robert Baker I actually knew more of those than I thought I would
i got 30 out of 70 is it good?
i think brass in pocket was 1980.
Chum Buck If we go by a grading system, that's a 43.
Trent Stines aww man so I failed
2000 riffs on 2000 guitars on songs from the 2000s
Shop Hacks yes lol
In 2000 seconds
Only Joe Bonamassa has enough guitars to do that...
Lol

>not playing Sultans of Swing on a Stratocaster
I can't believe you've done this
Based Knopfler at least it was a fender???
Havic Gaming a tele isnt good enough!
And not finger picking.
When all of these could be zeppelin and the video would still be good
True!!
yep very true
wrong
This video could realistically just be Jimmy Page and Tony Iommi riffs.
Don't forget zz top and the eagles 🤘
*stops video to play The Ocean riff for about 20 minutes*
Dom B thank you for describing exactly what I did
that riff is wonderful :D
well done man. you've really been killing it the last couple of months

This video just got me out of one of those "don't know what to play" moods. now I have so many songs I need to learn
NO STAIRWAY. THERES A SIGN FOR THAT. 😂😂😂

It is in the video tho
I wish you had some Rush in there, some of their best stuff was in the 70s (that's debatable tho)
Workin Man

so glad to see someone addressing the song sultans of swing. That song is BAD ASS
Pink Floyd?
Barracuda and Slow Ride one after the other? Someone enjoyed really cool dogfights with the Hydra I see...
Manuel Terrian There is hold the line, songs from GTA iv and v
True, I was just stating the fact that it's a werid coincidence one was after the other tho.
I was about to say "the 70s? The prime of Prog rock and not a single Prog riff?" But then Kansas came up and I guess that counts lol
Carry On Wayward Son is considered prog?
Riff from 10's 🤔
Gopesh Rock Channel pantera
Gopesh Rock Channel 000 00 00000
Jake Hughes so true
Do I Wanna Know? has a great riff.
1910's best year for Metal, if you ask me !!!
We heard you like sevens so we put sevens in your sevens so you can seven whilst you're sevening out to your sevens. Also, I got 20. You gotta do 2000 riffs from the 2000's and do every style from nu metal to metalcore to post hardcore to alternate rock to country to pop and everything
Great playing man !
Robert great job! Loved seeing all the guitars and hearing all the different tones in the mix. One reason why some people have multiple guitars - "Tone". Thank you for doing what you do!
A majority of what you played is what I was learning and jamming to back in those years. Those were some great times for all types of music!

2nd.
I at least recognized MOST of them. I didnt know the names of a lot, but they (almost) all sounded familiar.
I love that purple guitar. real straty tone to it

Excellent video as always, Robert 👌
That guitar you have for the first ten riffs has such an amazing tone and is so damn pretty.
No matter if some were from late 60's or early 80's it is still classic rock...THE BEST music of any generation....mid to late 60's to 80's is when music was real music. Yes even some of the hair metal is quite good...ok it is awesome too... but you did a great job.
You rock, man. Motivates me to practice more.
i like your dirty style of playing. most people play riffs as clean as possible but then you just copy it, don't know if it's on purpose or not but music doesn't ask perfection, it asks style and personality. keep it up!

im jealous of your guitar collection
Beautiful LP
thank you :)
Love this video! The Les Paul ruled on tone! All guitars sounded great except the second one, purple and gold which was just ok.
Rob Baker is like Mark Morton’s happier twin
I was hoping for vintage guitars for vintage tones for vintage riffs.
That purple guitar is smooth as fuq!!!
I never saw that lava Finnish before thats the best one
Not sure what happened on my last post. There were some extra characters. Was just supposed to say '82.
Great video. Thanks!!! I enjoyed it. Next time take a vote and let us choose one song for a lesson.
