Another enjoyable vlog. I think variety of work is a good thing , I found that out on my very first job no day was never the same. I definitely can relate to the bus I did a couple of Contiki tours in the U.S. and Europe and yes definitely no pooping. I hope you get some time off with your family over Christmas

hi Mia, i always like the behind the scenes stuff! it's interesting, tambourine is one of my favorite instruments to play! and as you know, the Beatles played it in many of their songs like "wait" and "day tripper" to name two. perhaps more of your own songs will include it? fun vlog!

What Ray said. Ditto for me. Your musical tastes are eclectic, like mine. Music is language. Different genres are like different dialects. Just as you are a multi instrumentalist, you are multi linguistic in the language of music. Playing different genres will make you fluent in all dialects. You took this approach when you played cover songs. Playing in front of live audiences will give you valuable stage experience. Someday, the stage will be yours. Keep on truckin'.

that's a very nice comment, thank you. I do feel pretty good about how i get to spend my time but i don't feel like i'm on the precipice of blowing up. (i do really like that word though so thanks for that.) I've never imagined myself as a, "came out of nowhere" candidate because those are generally orchestrated by labels. For whatever reason, I've always pictured myself on the slow grind that I started on at 10 yo.. maybe because that's the only way it's been for me or at least the only thing that has shown consistent meaningful progress is, the work, and I like the work so I'm not looking for some moment. It was a strange and illuminating road, but I travelled 38 consecutive Mia/Morris music & business vlogs down the Mia & Morris Music and her Dad Highway during which she learned to drive a car in West Virginia thanks to her Dad's exceptionally sage advice. It took close to 8 hours to watch and over several years to make. That documentary is in the can. I love it. It was like a movie. It all began with the very first video of Mia bashing a drum kit, age 9. I very highly recommend it. Mia's charm is as much herself as her music, and that charm is continuously on display.
Wow, just contemplating that comment makes me reflect on so much. I can't thank you enough for caring enough to dig into my work. I've come to have a very sentimental spot in my heart for the vlogs after I began to understand that I love having them if for nothing more than my own memories, regardless of where any of this goes. This means a lot Donald, thank you :)

It was quite a destructive and disturbing scene, and sometimes things happen if you know what I mean, rest in pieces you beautiful tambourine. Sorry for the lame rhyme. I've been working nonstop 12 hour days and I'm super tired and a little punchy. I'm off tomorrow though (Thank God). I've heard that before about those busses. I guess that means no going to a 🌮 Taco Bell drive thru. As always you looked like you were having fun. I appreciate how you don't seem nervous or intimidated by performing number one songs by famous people. Or perhaps you're just hiding it. lol - getting nervous is something i don't have to deal with very often, luckily, so far.. The times I've gotten butterflies were always in situations where i wasn't prepared, or didn't think i was, or something happens that i wasn't prepared for. I do a pretty thorough job anymore of not putting myself in those situations and the more surprises I experience, the fewer that are left :)

Love the vlog. Also as a professional musician, I believe it is very important for you to associate and play with as many artists in a variety of music genres that you can. Being around icons like Pam and her band is as good of a learning experience as any music school. The GRLwood thing is awesome as well! (I've about worn out my CD. Lol ) Lots of folks won't see much artistry in Rëj's music, but I think it's cool plus you get a good workout playing it. Anyway variety is the spice of life. Two weeks ago I was getting "moshed" at a four day heavy metal festival in Florida, and last night I was in the beautiful Tennessee Theater in Knoxville watching the country acapella group Home Free. Got a ticket to Rare Hare and one to Pam in Kentucky. Love all live music! So keep it real and keep it "spicy" Neighbor! You're definitely on the right road to a successful career .. even if the bus is late sometimes. 😂😂😂
Thanks Ray, I'm with ya. The GRLwood thing being under appreciated doesn't even begin to say it. Rae's songs are streamed way more than a ton of artists that are on the radio. Lots of labels are force feeding bands onto PL's & radio to get 10% of the streams that an unknown, unique punk band gets from real fans hearing something they like and looking for more. I learn something from lots of artists I work for but I'll go out of my way to help something as authentic as that.
I've always loved your vlogs, esp the "behind the scenes" ones. It was really cool to see how you prepare for gigs and how you prepare arrangements for your studio gigs. You've grown so much from that sweet young girl writing your first songs and videos. And now you're the consummate professional. I was really into her father..Mel. I had a terrible stutter as a kid. Seeing him do it on television and not caring inspired me to not care about it. I eventually broke it.
Zil is the name of that "mini cymbal". there's a lot of different zils but the general term for those metal discs used in percussion instruments is zil or zils (plural). keep inspiring us with your path and the hard work and passion that keeps u on that path!

the touring answer was about a different band. Pam books me for 1 or 2 shows at a time and I never know when they are coming. Don't get me wrong, that really works better for me. I can't fully commit to someone else's project unless i'm willing to put mine 2nd.

Thanks, and I understand that. I have more coming that may fall under that category but not most. I think our tastes in that area are more of a reflection of our age than anything we consciously select. I've grown up in a time where art, music, and entertainment are pushing the boundaries of what is shocking just like when you were growing up. The catch is, we are starting wherever the previous generation left the line. It only goes one direction and still satisfies teens need to establish independence by alienating adults. I could be wrong of course and I appreciate whatever support you are inclined to give.

Thanks, and I understand that. I have more coming that may fall under that category but not most. I think our tastes in that area are more of a reflection of our age than anything we consciously select. I've grown up in a time where art, music, and entertainment are pushing the boundaries of what is shocking just like when you were growing up. The catch is, we are starting wherever the previous generation left the line. It only goes one direction and still satisfies teens need to establish independence by alienating adults. I could be wrong of course and I appreciate whatever support you are inclined to give.
