    welcome to my channel if your new here remember to like and subscribe👍in this episode we will be testing different ways of stopping the oil cap from bouncing and being under some sort of vacuum unlike the first vid when we added a pcv valve in the system with a catch can. but will it make any difference this time ??

    Put the T piece with the PCV valve in its original spot under the intake manifold, near the spot where the original elbow comes out of the crankcase, before the catchcan with shorter hose. This how i set it up and its working fine.

    Luv it mate, another great video. So, after watching this pt2, I stand by my comment on pt1. You can also try a weaker spring in the valve which would account for the extra pressure caused by the addition of the catch can.

    Hi Chris ! Old video, I know.
    I have done exactly the same install as yours , BAM 225 2001.
    I found the same catch can on ebay or something ( chinese I guess )
    What I did yesterday was to bypass the catch can, direct to the pcv, and then no more bouncing.
    Seems to be a simplified install than the OEM one.
    So , probably, the can is the culprit.
    Why ? Don’t know yet. Maybe too small, maybe to far.
    Next will be to replug the can without the grill inside.

    My old 225 used to have its cap bounce with the catch can, but then that block had blow by and lots of other issues! 😁 Interesting to see that even with the PCV valve in you still get the bounce - I reckon you're right though that the idle vacuum from the manifold isn't strong enough - is there a better place to maybe pull the vacuum from?

    • @CarChris82

      Some just do it mate, every engine seems different must be how worn things are

  • @stevenharpervw
    @stevenharpervw Год назад +1

    Chis it really makes no difference . At idle the turbo is generating so little pressure the excess back pressure is able to escape around the turbo blades, Also in your system the spring in the one way valve isn’t weak enough to open, so what’s happening is pressure builds- valve opens - pressure drops valve closes and the cycle keeps repeating. Really at ideal does the engine really care about the pcv or pressure in the rocker cover as it’s so low. Maybe a better setup is just vent straight to atmosphere. So any blowby can just be expelled under the car.

    • @CarChris82
      @CarChris82  Год назад

      Your right mate I don't think it really matters that much as when your driving it all gets pulled through.this was more of a test to see what happens and if you need a pcv valve in or not with a catch can set up
