    Received my SE yesterday. I love straight razors and old time shaving with a single blade. I used to use a single Gillette blade called "Metal" and they were great ,but years ago they stopped the line. So....I used my SE blade this morning and at first as I shaved down my cheek, I "felt nothing". I thought..."Oh I must have the angle wrong"? No!! The stroke was so smooth I felt "nothing". FANTASTIC!! Man, this is the greatest single blade I have ever used!! My cheek was baby smooth on one stroke. I still cannot believe it but its for real. LOVE THIS!!

    Been pretty intrigued after seeing an ad on Instagram, the biggest pull I think was that it's a single blade (I have been using an old adjustable Gillette because I noticed my fusion was destroying my neck) but it has the ergonomics of a cartridge style razor which is more what I'm used to. Got the Pro and I'm really liking it so far. It's like a nice middle ground between that adjustable Gillette and the Fusion.

    You should mention that people who would be best suited for the SE can also use the pro. They get the benefits of the SE but can also make the transition to all the adjustability of the pro without having to shell out more money for another razor or shaving experience vessel.

    Great vid and greetings from Aotearoa. Two and a half years ago I was looking at your website wondering if I could ever justify spending so much money on a razor - now I own TWO Supply razors. One is already converted to an SE (the ability to ‘upgrade’ a 2.0 is a bloody marvellous feature!) with a second SE setting in the mail - along with a sleeve and some black label blades. And I have no doubt that I’ll get the Pro eventually. I’m a fan! You should also be proud of Supply’s customer service - it has been excellent every time I’ve in contact.

    Just got the SE a few days ago, and shaved once. I knicked myself a couple of times and I find it difficult to reach under my nose to get those small hairs that end up on the high lip. Still use the other side of my Harry's to get to those. I get it, there's a learning curve so I'll keep at it and see where it gets me. The one other suggestion is to make the handle a bit bigger, or at least give us a choice? I'm not a big dude, with big hands by any means, but even for me (5'10") the handle seems tiny and it's sometimes hard to control it when wet. I'm hopeful about this razor as I haven't found a perfect one yet.

    How much do you shave per session? Do you go down to the bare skin or leave a bit of stubble? I am new to safety razors and have been using your SE and I’m trying to shave like my old razor which might be too deep. I’ve gotten better at the technique and nicks and cuts are rare events. I find it takes me longer to shave with the safety razor compared to my old Mach 3, as I feel it requires multiple swipes unless I’m being too overly OCD. I use a shaving oil. I am 100% impressed how well it mows down a beard that hasn’t been shaven in multiple days. It’s like a lawn mower for the face!

    I’m so frustrated. I’ve read all of the documentation, I’ve watched all of the videos, I’ve looked everywhere I can, but what the F is the little red piece of metal sitting inside of the SE? I’m assuming it’s just a placeholder for shipping and it should be removed before injecting the first blade, but it’s not even mentioned, anywhere on the website that I can find.
    Also, the SE has a screw so you can take off the comb to clean it out. But I can’t find anything that says how hard to tighten it, or if the comb might shift while putting it back together. D😮o you tighten it all the way down do you take it to a certain level. Should it be turned as hard as you can so nothing moves?
    What am I missing? Is there information out there and I’m just not finding it, or are you not providing it?

    • @Awesome7Man
      @Awesome7Man 7 месяцев назад +1

      I just got mine a few days and had a similar experience. However, I think I figured it out.
      The red strip is actually mentioned on the little paper that came in the package. It’s the placeholder for the blade during shipping. When you use the injector and your first blade goes in, it will come out and you can toss it.
      Regarding the dial, tighten it up until it’s snug. Do not go beyond that. I did and getting it undone is very difficult and won’t allow you to inject a new blade.
      Hope you figured it out already, but maybe this will help others.

    • @davesampieri
      @davesampieri 7 месяцев назад

      @Awesome7Man Thanks for replying. I couldn't find the specifics in the instructions or on their website. I figured it was a placeholder, but it wouldn't come out when I used the injector. I loosened the screw to get it out but then didn't know how hard to tighten it.
      Having said all that, I did get it set up and have now tried it three times. I haven't been able to get a close shave, and I did cut myself pretty deeply one time. I haven't cut myself in over 10 years with my 3-blade or 5-blade razors. I use an Amazon razor or a Gillette razor and both give me a very close shave with no cuts or nicks.
      Anyway, I'm going to try it a few more times, to see if it's a matter of getting used to it and learning how to use it correctly, but it's too expensive to keep if the shave isn't close enough.
