That's exactly why I watch this Channel I want to see where mistakes can be made so I know how to adjust when I try something new outside my wheelhouse. In creating my Channel I want to show people where I make mistakes and show people how I fix my mistakes.
First of all...Those countertops turned out AWESOME Stan. Secondly, I think I can speak for at least most of us subscribers, that we love your channel because you DO share all the mistakes and imperfections on your videos. You give an honest, transparent presentation of what you do and how you do it. Finally, I like the countertop by the sink just a little bit better than the other side. You and your wife make a pretty good team. Thanks for what you do and God Bless.
Came over from The Stone Coat channel. 1st of all, both sides look great! But, the side you two did by hand is just phenomenal. This stuff is so fun to work with. My wife and I did our basement floor with Stone Coats flooring epoxy. We weren't sure what colors we wanted to do, so we bought a small countertop kit and every color we thought we'd like. I bought a sheet of 1/4" particle board that I cut into 12" x 12" squares and we just went to town making samples. It was so easy, that my young boys did a few samples. My friends were wow'd by the samples. Once we decided on colors, it was time to order and start prepping the concrete floor. 3 days of prep, 2 hours on Friday night for the prime coat, 4 hours on Saturday morning for the color coat and and hour on Sunday for final cleanup. Once the weather warms up, I'm going to do an outdoor concrete bar top with a friend and then eventually make my own kitchen countertops with epoxy. My piece of advice for this project would be 1: Run the counter to the wall, finish the epoxy and install the backsplash last. 2: Secure the top from underneath 3: Round over the front edge instead of edge banding. The epoxy will flow over and carry the veins with it. 4: I believe Stone Coat has a Top Coat now. Definitely use it.
Came over from Stone Coat..but watch your channel as well. Great demonstration to show us lay people not in the epoxy profession can do this. The mishaps were a bonus. You are such a great teacher. Down to earth always. Stay blessed. Thanks for the upload. …and show is the wood.
Yea, Mike sent me, and boy, am I glad he did. That is a fantastic pour, never would have believed it was your first time if I hadn't seen it myself. Me, I like the detail pour better, more activity, more to see, it just looks more alive. Thank you for this experience, I am impressed.
Mike from Stone coat sent your link good work on the counter tops.I did as you on the counter tops allowing like 2 ozs per sq ft. Then I seen on stone coat they used up to 4 ozs per sq ft. Now you just pour your counter tops not having to push pull move around your epoxy . Simply pouring takes out my art and crafts effect which I don't have any. The pour does all the magic for me.
I've watched Stone Coat many, many times, and I've admired what he does there. It's really nice stuff! Your countertop looks awesome, I really like the teal color!
Came here from Stonecoat Countertops to see how you did your counters. LOVE THEM!!! Great work!!! Subbed. Fixin to start on my countertops in a week. Hoping for the best.
You could have put the screws in from the inside of the cabinets pointing up into the plywood, that way you will always have access to the screws to remove the counter top if you want to replace it
The shower is sick looking I love it. The countertops turned out looking amazing simply loved everything you've done to that cabin keep up the great content thank you for taking us along for the ride
Cool video Stan, Those bench tops look spot on. When I was a younger man, I worked with a similar product that was for spraying over bare concrete floors. A great way to be apart of your home by letting your creativity take over. Best of luck with your Bathroom next.
Stan, you guys never cease to amaze. THAT looks frikkin AWESOME, Brother! We did our kitchen over a couple of years ago and now, seeing this, I wish we had at least tried it! Thanks so much for sharing this. Yet another great video. Stay warm and have a great day! God bless.
The coolest thing is you can repour over existing countertops and have a brand new look in a few hours. No cutting, drilling, just playing with thick paints.
It’s funny I had watched your channel and stone Coat Countertops as well before and now he referred you to me. I also watched Matt’s channel and you referenced him.
I like the left side. It looks like ocean waves on a stormy day. I also like the right side just as much. They are beautiful. It was great seeing your wife working with you. She is stunning. I love the walnut piece too. I need to update my 1960s kitchen. I am going to check out that process. Thanks. Loved this. ☺🙏
Looks great like the right side the most with the time consuming detail best. The Black Walnut looks amazing also. The cave shower looks really cool also, think the epoxy resin would go great in the cave. Looking forward to the next video's. My house is full of learning from my mistakes. Rather it be on my house than a customer that would sue me if it didn't come out perfect!
I was going to do this with my dad but didn't. We were in menards and saw some small nice glass tiles. We glued the tiles on the existing countertop. Got some glitter grout to go with it. I like how it looks.
Blacktail studios is another mean channel for epoxy work. If you're interested. Love the green popping thru. Looks great. Hope your happy with how it came out
great job on your countertops, I got hooked on mikes videos a few years ago when it was just him and his wife in his little shop. probably 30 or 40 gallons of epoxy later, bartops and river tables and countless small projects.
You can epoxy your shower floor but you’ll need to add texture to it so that it is slip resistant. A lot of shower areas in RV parks, community pools and water parks use an aggregate dense epoxy fill.
Mike from Stone Coat counter tops! Im a Newby! So I'm watching you two close!! Im going to do my kitchen too!! YAY! *Show me the wood!* Its gorgeous! Love the colors!! Just beautiful!!
~~Really like the depth the hands on has&think essentially is/could call it nature? Being that it's what the wife&you created? You can make such better looking art/countertops if you play around with this epoxy and make it into your own where mistakes become beloved areas (Happy mistakes). I did my countertops about a year ago (Black Metallic + White Metallic veins). Good job seeing as this was your first time. Playing with Epoxy is fun fun fun!
It’s all very pretty but….. I truly like what you did by hand MUCH more than the dirty pour. You home is amazing also. Truly appreciate anyone who shares the screw ups because in the end it’s just more educational because fixing mistakes is a reality for us all!

Mike sent us over. You got THIS.👏👏👏👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Great channel watched you before. Personally I don’t want to see your wood. But the countertop would be nice.
I have done a lot of wood working but never using epoxy, might give it a try. That being said I can honestly state that I have never wanted to see another guys wood. Good job
I always wanted to try this. It's almost as if you can't go wrong with that stuff, it always looks amazing. I'd love to see a video of that aquarium too someday Stan, looks great from what I can see.
Awesome job you two ! It looks beautiful. I am hoping to attempt this soon . Im on Kauai and the real granite is so freaking expensive and this is way more exotic and so much more exciting , and to say you did it yourself even cooler . The colors you chose are perfect :) thanks for sharing .
The process is a lot of fun! Mike is actually living in Hawaii on the big island. and my daughter lived where you are now and just came home from there a few weeks ago! someday I want to move out there. Save me a spot haha

Same reason you use silicone instead of construction adhesive to install a solid surface.
So awesome seeing you do this. I’ve been watching stone coat epoxy videos for months to learn to do this and now you do it. Great job btw.
