It’s so powering how he talks about his life and keeps pushing forward even with his downs he finds the ups when we don’t makes me realize how hard it could be for some people and how easy it can be with out thinking about it I hope to see more talks with him in it..
I along with a few of my neighbors who live in a disabled housing complex had an issue with the sidewalks in our town a few years ago, so we went to the town council to petition them to get the sidewalks fixed, we showed them just how bad the sidewalks were and that not only were they dangerous to us who use wheelchairs but also to cyclists, runners, walkers, ect. Not only they they replace the sidewalks, they made them wider too, and we have been working with the town and state reps to improve access to public places in our state.
Great example of what "grass-roots" disability advocacy is all about -- nice job, Liam! Hopefully, by now, if you are living in the same community that sidewalks and curbcuts are now ADA compliant!
In life there are many times no choice but you are forced. Lots of us don't value our independent able people. Great great talk n pray more n more amazing souls like you change humanity. Thank you, bless you. All your dreams come true.
People use door openers meant for the disabled sometimes even kicking them. Do they realize that that door opener breaks disabled people won't be able to enter inside and be forced to wait for someone to open the door for them?
This is an excellent talk. Thank you for sharing your story. I am a student pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy and I am always interested in hearing different people's take on advocacy. What was the Facebook page that you initially started?

Those same cracks in the sidewalk catch the top of my white cane If I use a ball top it is all right. But if I use a marshmallow tip.which is yes the shape of a marshmallow like when you roast over a campfire. The tip catches if you aren't holding your long cane away from your belly you get a self inflicted punch in the gut. Not fun. OI have broke a long white cane going too fast in a parking lot dotted with potholes enough to be like the holes in a crimpet. It broke it in two. Snapped in half. Yes the side walks being narrow makes it too hard to sight guide my spouse. We watch for cars in our complex. The bushes have thorns and poke holes in our clothes if one of us gets too close to a bush. I have had to deal with construction and bus drivers letting us off in the wrong place. This is bad when on the way to a job interview. So as a casually impaired person despite different conditions we face the same obsticles. We we're born premature also. Two pounds two ounces too. Retinopathy of prematurity. Keep advocating. I am doing it as a thesis.

I think bike lanes should be up on the same level as the sidewalk not the cars.
