At least the remake of Samus Returns was really good and the fact that they admitted that they didn't like where Prime 4 was going gives me hope for Metroid.
Samus Returns wasn't that good compared to the 2D games that came before it. The world is huge, empty, and forgettable, the controls leave a lot to be desired, and the new mechanics aren't implemented very well. For example, every enemy is a damage sponge unless melee countered, which constantly forces you to wait or waste resources. All in all the game features a lot of mild inconveniences that add up to a rather frustrating experience.
I loved the older Metroid games from NES all the way to NGC/DS, but the 3ds remake feels like a lesser version... Other M was just terrible on so many levels, and federation force was competently made, well I say that even though I only played a dozen or so of the missions, the controls didn't do it for me and it as many have stated: "It's not a Metroid game," this game is a great metaphor for transgenders, born into the wrong game/body. 'The NGC games were gloomy, both in story and aesthetics, the heroine was stoic, she can unlock new abilities like mega man, those new abilities serve as keys to go to new areas, you're all alone, countless fearless creatures have caught your scent, one of those creatures has to be a Metroid that somehow still exists or is cloned, out wit or outright shoot till the enemy says *boom* then find your ship before the planet/base says *boom* as well' and there you have it, Metroid. 📝 It really isn't that hard a formula to nail down, yet somehow it is... It's like how they turned the Xenoblade Chronicles series into an anime, it's way too cutesy looking for a story and world this dark. Though that only concerns the aesthetical aspects of what's lost in the new Metroid games... Definitely hope Metroid Prime 4 can obliterate my lowered expectations with something incredible. 👍 At least that's my take on this, perhaps what I long for really isn't your vision at all...

I like Metroid: Other M as a game, but as a Metroid game, it was mediocre at best. And judging from the teaser at the end of the Samus Returns remake, do you expect a Metroid Fusion remake at some point?
If it were a new IP or something, and not Metroid it would have been okay. Would probably have taken out some of the inconsistencies and other stuff Other M even had because it was trying to build off of the Metroid lore. Even then I really like Metroid Other M and still play it to this day. Though I did get it for $5 so yeah.
@@MrChaotic4 I think we might get a Super or Fusion remake at some point only because of the fact that SR was supposed to be a Fusion remake, but they opted for Metroid 2 since Fusion still holds up and that one not so much.
It's pretty clear that by 2015 Nintendo had largely given up on the Wii U. And with the exception of Star Fox Zero and Guard, which were borne out of Miyamoto trying to make something...anything out of the gamepad, they had committed to sitting out until the Switch arrived and basically told their devs to not sink too much time and effort into the failed console.
Jake Voronkov I definitely expect a Metroid Fusion remake soon tbh, especially with the rumors of us either getting a sequel or remake of Fusion for Switch. One would think Super Metroid would be their priority, but since it’s considered a masterpiece by plenty of people while Fusion, while great, can be improved in a few aspects, I guess it’d make sense why they’d do so for it instead. Besides it being teased in Samus Returns, at least, and a remake could possibly tease a Fusion sequel as well.

Love this new list, can't wait to see what's #1, may I suggest a mirror-list? "Great Games from Terrible Franchises!" surely there are enough for a Top 5 List? Thanks for another great vid and stay safe RabbidLuigi 💙🐱💙
In regards to the advert- The wallet Ive used since I first needed to start carrying a wallet is literally older than most subscriber's parents. My great grandpa made it out of cowhide in the 40's before being deployed for WW2. And not only has it held up perfectly, it's a damn sexy wallet. I'll never need another one, let alone that absolute eyesore of a Ridge Wallet.
Sticker Star change the Paper Mario formula so much that it almost feels like a game from a totally different series. Plus a lot of what it sets out to do is... lackluster to say the least
I'm a person who has no adblock on, the ridge wallet in video ad ended at 2.12 and I got an ad at 4.02, not to mention the ad I saw before the video started, ads every 2 minutes is just absurd, I feel inclined to put my adblock back on youtube!
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen II is my personal vote for a list like this. But sadly, the world seems to be actively trying to forget the entire Legacy of Kain.
I thank you guys for the likes, but in order for Namco’s weakest games to ACTUALLY be on this list, I’m still waiting for RabbidLuigi himself to ❤️ this comment (well, even if he secretly happens to thumb up this comment, that’s at least good enough for me).
At least Nintendo gave the Animal Crossing Amiibo cards a better use in New Leaf and New Horizons. You can get what ever Villagers you want if you have their card which is a better use then just using them in a not fun party game.
I'd like to add one more: Crash Boom Bang! Despite what a lot of fans say about the series, the majority of the main series Crash games are consistently good - average at best. A lot of the spite comes from how the series changed over time... Then you get Crash Boom Bang! as a party game on the DS aaaaaaaaaaand- *shoots self in the head* Yeah. It bad.
Streets Of Rage 3. Bizarre experimental music, stupid puzzles with not even vague suggestions on what to do, insane difficulty, a stupid plot about robots, and of course the Ash controversy. Considering SOR 1+2 are undisputed classics and the recent SOR 4 did it mostly great too, 3 is the blemish on the series we'd all rather forget. And I say this as someone whose actual name is Blaze Fielding (long story). If you can't get me to like it, what hope has anyone else got?
When you said Metal Gear I thought 'Wait MGS2 wasn't that bad..' then I thought '..maybe MGS5 but it's gameplay was pretty good' I legitimately forgot about Metal Gear Survive...take that as you will
I actually really love Metroid Other M. It's legitimately my second favorite game in the franchise. I know it's a mess, but I love the gameplay. And I ironically love the B rated story.
Something I'd like to point out is that DMC2 wasn't supposed to be the way it ended up being. The team behind it were a buncha slackers that did almost nothing for months, and when someone finally notice, they tried to salvage what was done in something like 4 months before release. The rest of these terrible games on this list? Intentionally made like this afaik. It doesn't excuse DMC2, but just wanted to point this out.
It was just like a second.... but that image of the person rolling the thumbstick from the N64 controller just gave me bad chills. I think I still have the callus.
A game I think falls into this is Spyro Enter the Dragonfly. Its frustrating controls, treasure trove of irritating glitches, sometimes dodgy graphics, and short small worlds with little innovation at times really made me dislike this game. I know The legend of Spyro games aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and a hero’s tail aren’t the most fantastic games either, and the handhelds aren’t always great, but while TLoS games were really different they aren’t necessarily bad, just a bit more meh or low ok if you like the beat em up style of gameplay, A hero’s tail wasn’t super complex or interesting, but it at least controlled well and felt mostly fun to play, the same mostly applying to the handhelds. EtD has been the only game in the series (that I’ve played) that I’ve actually quit before I finished simply because it was less of a fun way to spend my time and more a chore than anything else. It’s not the worst games in the world, there are far worse things out there, but this one just really rubbed me the wrong way
Poor Metroid Samus Returns on the 3DS... not only did it not get advertised almost at all, but it also barely gets remembered when thinking of the franchise. It’s truly unfortunate because of how actually amazing it was! :/
Oh my god, Sacred 3. Sacred 3 is the biggest disappointment of my adult life. Sacred 2 was a witty and interesting ARPG that carried its weight in the market, and made several innovations of the first game. Sacred 3 was a watered mess of bugs that felt more like an arcade cabinet game, replete with microtransactions.
YEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!! Thank you for putting other m on the list. I know people shit on it all the time but it never gets old to me. I never knew the depths that hatred could run until I experienced other m, I was a naive child and that game made me a man.
Im glad banjo kazooie nuts and bolts wasn't on this list. I was waiting for it because ive heard so much negativity about it. It's not a great banjo game but it was ahead of its time as a vehicle builder. It was also really fun and you could rig up some really impressive creations. I wish so much i could have brought my 360 save file over to the xbox one. I had an impressive pirate ship that was big enough to have a lower deck, a pretty decent x wing, and a bunch of other random creations.
I Always wonder how many takes it takes Rabbid to say 'This has been RabbidLuigi…" the way he wants it to be. Is het getting better at it? Does it fluctuate, depending on how his day/week has been?
About Other M: I am actually making a video about how Samus as a trans girl makes everything about her even better. The sexism present in other M with terms like "Lady" and "Princess" from the two men she holds in the highest respect makes a lot more sense when you consider it a validation of her gender in a a job that is so stereotypically masculine. Also her panic attack with Ridley shows her looking much more like a cis boy than a cis girl......
RabbidLuigi seems acutely aware of how much the Thief fanbase hates the 2014 reboot. While it’s arguably mediocre at worst and good, but not great at best, the sheer dip in quality from the other games (i’m including Deadly Shadows here, for the record) is what makes it feel perfect for this list, even if it isn’t.
Very good video! There were several franchises that I don't know much about. Go on like this! Have a good afternoon and take care of yourself! I have an idea for a future video. Top five games with the wrost scenario
Games with the worst stealth sections/stealth mechanics could be good. Nothing is worse than the mandatory stealth section in an otherwise non-stealth game or having stealth as an option but it being a completely terrible option.
Dark Souls with Guns: *Bloodborne intensifies* *Half the shitty "souls-like" games intensify* *Blue hot rage at no decent way to play Bloodborne on PC intensifies*
Still amazed there's ports for Horizon, RDR2 and Death Stranding but not that masterpiece. They gonna hit us with the Remaster with no option to get the original, just like Demon's Souls...
Other games I’d have put in: Paper Mario: Sticker Star Final Fantasy 10-2 The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Wii U)
My main issues with Other M, even if I haven't played much of it, is the refusal to let me use a Nunchuk, plot points being explained to you TWICE with one from some character and a much longer and unneeded version of it through Samus's monologuing, and, despite not having too many issues with your powers being limited as that's usually been the case of the beginning of every Metroid game starring Samus since MEtroid 2 on Game Boy, the fact that you have to go through a hot as balls area without the Varia Suit active and only AFTER all of that will Adam go and give the okay to use it. Adam's a fucking sadist. Most of the gameplay, though, feels pretty enjoyable.
Top 5 Great games with horrible learning curves. I dont know what it is man. I'd no trouble with MGS 1 and 2 but I can't even get past the opening section of 3. I just suck so bad at it but maybe that's because of the new camera perspective and so many more options making it so difficult. I've tried it like 5 times now and it took me ages to just get over that bridge which even then felt like a fluke. Never even knew there was a beehive to take out the guards before it. Feel like jumping in straight after 1 and 2 with the HD legacy collection soured how I approached it and now if in ever to play it I'll need a friend to give me tips on how to play
At least the top entry on this list has the silver lining of a more recent entry that has honestly elevated its status to new heights. An optimistic ending that lists like this don't always have.
Bruh you really accepted a sponsorship from a company charging $75 to $125 for a wallet that was made for a couple of bucks? Professionals are supposed to have standard man...
Man, watching this video after Metroid Dread came out, literally right the fuck out of nowhere I might add. It's like half the pressure for Prime 4 top even come out or be good just went poof just like that and now it feels like no one really cares anymore XDXDXDXD
I'm not sure where fans stand with this one nowadays but for some time, Yakuza Dead Souls was heralded as the death of the Yakuza series and heavily killed the franchise's success for a few years, including the fact that Yakuza 5 was released in Japan, and hadn't made its way stateside yet until a few years later. Thankfully, as time has shown, Yakuza 0 and Kiwami had successfully revitalized the series in the west and while still niche, Yakuza has a very flourishing fanbase now with all of its mainline games now readily available to play, whether on Playstation 4 or PC.
Rabbidluigi: "You should always fear franchise reboots." SEGA: "Nah, you don't know what you're talking about! Everybody LOVES how much we rebooted Sonic!" Seriously, count the number of times Sonic's been rebooted. I know that Mario dabbles a lot in loose canon, but that's because Mario's meant to be an every-man...Sonic is not. Sonic might owe his existence to the plucky Italian plumber, but it shouldn't be understated just how important it is to distance yourself from your legacy whilst simultaneously respecting it: moving forward whilst looking backward. That's the key. It's why Sonic Mania is infinitely (heheh >:3) better than Sonic Forces: it's celebrating its legacy, rather than pretending it doesn't exist. I know Forces is the most recent reboot, but trust me, Sonic has been rebooted more times than a Windows 98 BSoD, and that's a shame, too, 'cause I honestly think that Sonic can hold down a continuous narrative; I've only scratched the surface of the Archie comics thanks to the Sonic Mega Collection on the Gamecube, but from what I've been able to gather, the comics manage to do so quite well. Hell, the first 3 Sonic Genesis titles are a continuous story, so it's not like it can't be done in video game format! Honestly, I feel the main problem is with SEGA themselves, simultaneously venerating & neglecting (seriously, how do you manage to do that? that's like mixing fire & ice!) Sonic, meanwhile outright forgetting many of their oldies-but-goodies. Sonic is not Final Fantasy, SEGA, kindly stick to ONE story rather than telling a million alternate universe versions of the character and the life & times of him and his friends...and please don't ever do a Sonic RPG ever again, speaking of which. :/
DMC2 is just so bad. I’m amazed Itsuno made something even functional with how everything was rushed. He has definitely redeemed himself with 3,4, and especially 5

Love this new list, can't wait to see what's #1, may I suggest a mirror-list?
"Great Games from Terrible Franchises!" surely there are enough for a Top 5 List?
Thanks for another great vid and stay safe RabbidLuigi 💙🐱💙
Are there?
What really counts as a terrible franchise? All I can think of is Bubsy. And THAT ain't got any great games.
What does it say when Konami recently put out Bomber Girl of all things, and that STILL looks like a step up from Act Zero?
Yeah I just searched this and oh boy it's different.
Top 5 Non-Horror RPG Maker games (To the Moon, Rakuen, Heartbeat, etc.).
Last dream.
Lisa the painful (it's disturbing but not really horror)
How about the Top Games in the wrong genre? As in, what games would work better in an entirely different genre?
Top 5 Best Games in Bad Franchises. Let's do a reversal of this countdown and see the diamond in the pile of dust.
The HELL is that game in the number 5-1 bumpers?
I'm a person who has no adblock on, the ridge wallet in video ad ended at 2.12 and I got an ad at 4.02, not to mention the ad I saw before the video started, ads every 2 minutes is just absurd, I feel inclined to put my adblock back on youtube!
okay but please consider: Top 5 Good Games from Terrible Franchises
8:21 *ahem*
BOONTY PLAEY DEEEMCEE TOO EES BESD DONTEE EES BESD IN GAEM

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen II is my personal vote for a list like this. But sadly, the world seems to be actively trying to forget the entire Legacy of Kain.
Top 5 weirdest games made by legendary creators
"we're about to embark on a very exciting, deeply disappointing adventure"
Sounds like the synopsis for my life...
Honorable Mention: Pac-Man (Atari 2600) and the Pac-Man World handheld trilogy
Then you get Crash Boom Bang! as a party game on the DS aaaaaaaaaaand- *shoots self in the head*
Yeah.
It bad.
I played it from a friend, I lost a few brain cells playing it.
Top 10 RPG party members more popular than the main character of the same game

Top Five Character Creators in Video Games
You covered this one in the past, but I think there’s enough new material for a revisit:
Top Five Games With Wasted Potential.
Thank God Animal Crossing New Horizons because I can’t imagine how the franchise would recover from that god awful Amibo Festival.
When you said Metal Gear I thought 'Wait MGS2 wasn't that bad..' then I thought '..maybe MGS5 but it's gameplay was pretty good' I legitimately forgot about Metal Gear Survive...take that as you will
I forgot about it myself.
Really goes to show how forgettable it is; it's that bad.
While I certainly see why many dislike Other M and I have some of the problems many others do, I honestly still enjoy it as a guilty pleasure.
Top Five Terrible Decisions from Great RUclipsrs:
Number 1: Deciding to discontinue rabbid2igi - rabbidluigi
It was just like a second.... but that image of the person rolling the thumbstick from the N64 controller just gave me bad chills. I think I still have the callus.
You’re now obligated to do top 5 great games from terrible franchises, lol
'Are you a Man or a BOMBERMAN!?' Not a question I thought I needed to ask myself.
When you started talking about MGS I thought you were gonna talk about Revengeance but that's because I completely forgot Survive was a thing.
It’s not the worst games in the world, there are far worse things out there, but this one just really rubbed me the wrong way
This is the second time this week I heard you criticizing Metal Gear Survive. Good.
Poor Metroid Samus Returns on the 3DS... not only did it not get advertised almost at all, but it also barely gets remembered when thinking of the franchise. It’s truly unfortunate because of how actually amazing it was! :/
How many people do you expect to know that's a Dino Crisis game on the midcards, Rabbid?
You missed an opportunity at the end to say "If it carries the name, it can carry the shame."
How did Sonic Boom not make the list...
Dave Simon Because there’s a lot of terrible Sonic games.
Thanks for getting The Karate Kid theme song stuck in my head within a minute of your video.
Glad to see your hair is growing back lmao
I've lost count of how many times you've ripped into Metal Gear Survive (someone should make a video of that) but it deserves it every time.
Dark Souls with Guns:
*Bloodborne intensifies*
*Half the shitty "souls-like" games intensify*
*Blue hot rage at no decent way to play Bloodborne on PC intensifies*
Still amazed there's ports for Horizon, RDR2 and Death Stranding but not that masterpiece.
They gonna hit us with the Remaster with no option to get the original, just like Demon's Souls...
I really enjoy playing Amiibo Festival - but yes, God. It is by no means a good game.
Its entirely luck based and you do nothing.
Top 5 games that resurfaced (like Lego The Hobbit, since for a while it vanished off online stores.)
2015 may have been a bad year for nintendo, but I'll always have fond memories of playing project zero - maiden of black water during that autumn.
Other games I’d have put in:
Paper Mario: Sticker Star
Final Fantasy 10-2
The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes
Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Wii U)
I'd probably opt for Final Fantasy 13 over X-2.
I think he avoided those because those franchises have more than 1 stand-out bad title
Lucidinstinct not played that one so cannot comment on it
My main issues with Other M, even if I haven't played much of it, is the refusal to let me use a Nunchuk, plot points being explained to you TWICE with one from some character and a much longer and unneeded version of it through Samus's monologuing, and, despite not having too many issues with your powers being limited as that's usually been the case of the beginning of every Metroid game starring Samus since MEtroid 2 on Game Boy, the fact that you have to go through a hot as balls area without the Varia Suit active and only AFTER all of that will Adam go and give the okay to use it.
Every time I see Other M on a list like this my eyes roll back in my head so fucking hard.
The only saving grace of DMC2 is that sick coat.
"Bold of them to put their MetaCritic score in the title." BRUH
Metal Gear's slow and death is as surreal and offputting as many of the scenes in the series. It's almost fitting, in the saddest way possible.
What is that game in the transition between positions?
I think he says "this is rabbidluigi" faster and faster in every video
Top 5 Light Gun Games/Rail Shooters?
One of the best parts of my sunday. That notification of a new video. Hell yes!
At least the top entry on this list has the silver lining of a more recent entry that has honestly elevated its status to new heights.
An optimistic ending that lists like this don't always have.
Rabbid: Here's our sponser, check out my wallet ass
Bruh you really accepted a sponsorship from a company charging $75 to $125 for a wallet that was made for a couple of bucks? Professionals are supposed to have standard man...
Ry Considering RUclips’s current climate, I’m not surprised Rabbidluigi is taking what he can get. Can’t afford to be picky with sponsors.
I'm surprised Sticker Star isn't here. It was shown, but didn't make the list.
The Original FFXIV! Considering they had to nuke it into 2.0 and make it inaccessible to deal with how bad it was!
I didn't know that Bomberman had so many games. 😯
I've never actually played any of them.
5 years later we getting Prime 4
Rabbidluigi: "You should always fear franchise reboots."
SEGA: "Nah, you don't know what you're talking about! Everybody LOVES how much we rebooted Sonic!"
Seriously, count the number of times Sonic's been rebooted.
Megaman X7 not being on here tells me all that I need to know
