1. Being around lots of people drains their energy
2. Being alone is their safe place
3. They don't have many friends, but those they do have are friends for life

Many times, Introverts are seen as boring, shy, quiet or lazy because they don't want to party or they are casually hanging around the back of the club. They're not being rude, they just handle fun in bursts and would rather enjoy a nice book or watching their favorite Netflix shows. Of course, this isn't ALL introverts. Just like how every person is different, every introvert is as well. Some introverts have no issues with public speaking or meeting new people. But they will plan out their moves and think about outcomes, actions and things to say, which is opposite from their extrovert counterparts.
We wanted to create a video for Introverts out there. We feel like they don't get enough love and are overshadowed by extroverts (not that anything is wrong with extroverts :P). An introverted personality is nothing to hide behind. Let your inner Introversion shine!!

Hi! I'm an introvert. I could spend a day at school not talking to anyone, but it makes me feel crazy. It's not that I don't want to talk to anyone, it's just because I don't know how to approach them. Making friends is awkward for me.
I'm not a fan of reading, I'm into playing games. I have a group of 5 loyal friends. I do enjoy going out with them often, we always arrive late at home when we do. When new school year comes up, I really hate the 'get to know each other' portion, I'm a shy and awkward person. But on the other side of me, I was the complete opposite, I'm actually the joker in the group and in class. Weird right? I couldn't also believe that I'm humorous. Well, I'm never in between. It's either I'm super quiet or super loud. It's fun whenever we have new classmates, they'll never know until it's my turn to speak.

Its a combination of being an introvert and extrovert lol. Idk at this point im just tired of everyone putting all others into boxes, like extrovert and introvert, and i feel like being an introvert has gotten something negative to it over time. I think that along as you go out 1-2 times a week it's fine if you stay inside the other times. I think people just get too caught up in what others think of them, and most would be more happy just doing what they want :S

We introverts just like being alone,it calms us and we generally not want to be in crowded places in which you possibly won't recognize the people there(those family/relative parties)

Yes, I grew up being ridiculed and convinced that something was wrong with me because of being an Introvert. It took me many years to finally get over it and realize that I am who I am and there isn't a damn thing wrong with it.

I can actually relate, and sometimes my friends would misunderstand that I don't that like them or anything. And sometimes I'd be corner, I want to explain that I just don't like going out in the crowd or I don't enjoy socializing, but I can't or I feel like I'm not obligated to. It's just so frustrating sometimes.
I used to think 'oh I'm an introvert, wow I'm one of the rare people' but now, I really really want to enjoy going out or hanging out with friends. I do try, but when I go out I'd be just in a corner somewhere listening to their conversations. I can't really relate to what they're saying and sometimes when I do, I can't find the right moment to join in or I'd be cut off. And it maybe just nothing to some people, but being cut off makes me feel like... I don;t how to explain but Its just one of the worst feeling.

I appreciate the work that went into this but like others, this seems rather stereotyped and a misrepresentation of introverts. Introverts aren't just bookworms who don't talk to people, they usually have a social life too. And while they may not enjoy being at a party, it feels rude to portray introverts as hiding somewhere to watch cat videos. Many introverts will be social if the situation calls for it.
What Sophie seems to have is social anxiety or strong asocial inclinations. I do hope that the team would think about spreading more accurate information in future videos, as many commenters down below seem very eager to identify with Sophie.

I‘m an introvert and I can say I can‘t really talk to people I don‘t know only like to my friends or people I really trust, it‘s so awkward when you sit with someone strange and you have to talk to them (when it‘s a group work) and you don‘t know what to say and the other person don‘t know either and you both like, yeah , that‘s pretty awkward 😳 it‘s like such a (I call it) „awkward silence“ and then the group work ends and we‘re running back to our normal seats (😂) and then you both do like don‘t know each other or didn‘t even saw you... it‘s just one of my experience 😂😐....

being an introvert doesn't mean you don't want to hang out with other people or avoid places with a lot of people wtf.
it doesn't mean you don't want to talk to people or form a relationship.
It just mean that you're not chatty. You don't have to stay in your room all day to call yourself an introvert. I do it all day because I don't have anything to do.
There are times when you're an introvert because you're forced to because no one invites you to their party or talk to you at all just because of your appearance (you look gloomy, unfriendly and etc). You're forced to either change yourself or continue to live like this due to society's depiction of youth being energetic and wild. If you're out of the norm, you'll be isolated and some are very lucky because they got friends who don't care about their natural personality and expect them to change.
So this is a reminder to people on the comment section, being an introvert isn't a fun thing to do. Even if you want to, don't if you can't handle the amount of loneliness and the countless thoughts you have to think deeply about when you've been judged by someone out of your social circle that probably doesn't exist. If you start now, you don't know when you can get friends and experience joy with other people. I'm lucky I get into college this year so I can at least try to restart.
However to those who are going to say having alone time with yourself is fun. That is true but to an extent. Your parents or the people that you live with will raise some concerns and tell you to change. It's not easy to transition from the guy who doesn't talk in class a lot and only has one friend to a guy who goes outside everyday for hours with his/her pals.
My advice is try learning basic conversation skills. A sense of humor is quite appreciated nowadays so comedy can probably help you.

It is good. Nothing is going to be a plate of apple pie everytime in your whole life, you know. I was trying to discourage the isolation of introverts from social circles that are willing to actually try to socialize but have difficulties to. But just because one party does something, it doesn't mean the other party doesn't have anything to do. They should try to better themselves which is what I advice by learning basic conversation skills. It's a give-and-take scenario. It would be beneficial for both parties as we as humans can learn to cooperate with one another.

I literally relate to this feeling so much. Like, this is why i chose to stay at my room spending time with myself during weekends and my mom would scold me for not going out and that there’s something wrong with me or sometimes if im with my friends, when i dont talk, they think i hate them when in fact i just sometimes cant relate to what theyre saying and if i do relate, idk when to join their conversation. Idk i feel like i just want to tell everyone that im just an introverted person and not actually some depressed teenager. Also, this literally happened to me once when my friend invited me to a party but when we arrived there, she just left me there by myself and so i had to figure out how to not look like im alone and awkwardly standing by myself while thinking how to approach people and make small talks even thought i hate them but LIKE WHY BRING ME IF YOURE JUSR GONNA LEAVE ME ANYWAY

I think the creator is just trying to put something to the character so that she actually has a reason to stay home like all the other introverts. Introverts have different reasons to stay home and maybe the character is representing that one introvert who would stay home to read her favorite book or watch her favorite show.

But we do shine when we’re one on one with people. That’s when we make true connections-when we can focus on just one person and give them our due diligence.Being an introvert isn’t the easiest thing in the world.Those who are introverted do not necessarily want to be alone all the time. However, they do tend to be more comfortable with their own thoughts than others. Ha, yeah! I dunno, when I was her age as an introvert, I didn't have friends in school trying to force me to go out and socialize. I would have loved to have that. I didn't seem to have any kind of social life until I graduated a gained a little more self esteem. But that's my point. People aren't like that because they 'choose' to be like that and don't want to be bothered with these 'people', like she's a fucking queen or something. People don't socialize because they're afraid of what to say, they don't want to look like an idiot. They can still be with a group, they can still be very good listeners, and at times they can actually be comfortable being with other people. This girl they described just seemed rude.

I can relate to this so much. I have always been a really shy and quiet person. When someone calls me on my phone, I don’t want to answer, unless it’s mom or dad. I didn’t know there was such thing called “introvert”, but now I’m sure I have it! I relate to everything in this video and all of the comments. Sometimes, I don’t even want to hang out with my friends. Or friend... I don’t really have that much friends since I’m bad at making new friends bc I’m so shy. I’m an introvert and when I FaceTime my friends I secretly want to hang up to get in some anime episodes or RUclips videos not to be mean but I get drained. I also like being alone at school at times bc it’s refreshing, and I try to avoid conversations around me. I also avoided a whole conversation my parents were having with their friends by reading, watching anime, and RUclips.

I am a social introvert. I love to socialize but after some time I get easily drained out of energy. I need to excuse myself to go to the washroom when I am in a large social gathering. I do love to read books but I am not a book worm. I'm like when I do something I just forget about everything. When I watch RUclips videos, I forget about books. When I study, I forget about phones. I love to notice and observe my surroundings. I love to know about people belonging to different cultures and traditions. I love to know about different views of different people. Yeah I'm a keen observer. But I am sensitive. I get hurt easily and overthink a lot. I hate small talks and gossips. I literally can't tolerate gossip-mongers. I love to discuss about this universe, big bang theory, parallel universes, species of plants and animals, their habits, the existence of human beings, about Gods and Goddesses, extra-terrestrial beings, about different religions and cultures, different languages, history of this planet and history of different cultures. Sometimes I do act a little bit weird and crazy in front of the people I love. But most of time, I live in my own 1000th dimensional world. That's me. A social, sensitive introvert.

YES!!!! I am an introvert and am most proud of it. I'm not afraid to be alone and I don't need friends I only want them...which in my opinion wanting friends is much better than NEEDING them. I keep my loyalty to my person or friend without the games and manipulation. And yes some of my friends think just because I keep to myself I seem more mysterious to others when really I cannot stand the feeling of being vulnerable. Others find me stuck up but in reality I am not and I care more than many would think and listen more along with understanding...in my opinion introverts are a gem to be friends with and for those that are be proud of it🤗💕
