This was a fun camp, military gear is robust but heavy! What other MRE do you recommend from other countries militaries. If you liked this one, here’s another of my stealth camping series ruclips.net/video/9hnDDCuUbAg/видео.html
That was a great overnighter, I've just got into stealth camping, i have an OEX tent, British army Basha and Bivvi, and a Hammock to try out. cant wait for the godamn rain to stop ( Manchester area )... I've just subscribed and learning stuff.
Great video and a nice stealthy setup - though having a fire might be a bit of a giveaway 😂. I’d be more worried about dogs being walked nearby - would need another level of stealth to evade them!
Spot on vid Matt, great little spot in Laxey yessa 👍 Those fungus on the tree are known as Daldinia Concentrica, easily ID'd by the concentric rings inside. Also known as King Alfred's Cake or Cramp Balls as it's supposed to help with night cramps when made into a tea, but I wouldn't advise it. Look forward to seeing more 👍
@@AirbornePirates it was only yesterday i think that i realised that you were on Island when i recognised Niarbyl . Keep up the good work and @ IOMFS 👏👍
Those black balls on the tree are King Aflred’s Cakes. A fungus that is fantastic for fire starting... should of collected them lol! By the way I could totally be wrong about all this lol!
Also called Coal Fungus or Cramp Ball. Excellent ember for fire starting. Gives off an acrid smoke which repels insects. Has to be black (brown coloured are to young) and dry to work well. You can store dry ones in an airtight jar and take some with you on a trip. Need to cut them into pieces before lighting and light their insides - not the outer surface
Fairplay Matt another awesome video loved all the dpm gear. Great content as always buddy thanks for taking the time to make this video for us all to enjoy. Stay safe my friend 🏴🏴 👍
I’ve always known them black funguses as “cramp balls” they take a spark well. You find them on Ash trees a lot. Another good vid enjoyed, but you can’t tell me you didn’t roll down that hill at night? 🤣🤣🤣 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Just subscribed I’m leaving where I lived on Tuesday and have 300 quid and have got nowhere to live so am camping the summer in the British woodland Thanks for the Help I’m going to the army and navy stores on Monday Cheers :)
As you have American viewers is that why your hat's on the wrong way around?...lol. Pretty stealthy, but would have put the opening 30 degrees to the left so the opening is opposite the path.
Had to put the hat other way round as the autofocus on my camera wouldn’t focus with the peak. I agree. The opening would have been better and I wouldn’t have been rolling down hill in the night either
Not a bad effort but the fire, are you sure about that. Banging away with the Axe is also a no no, noise and sign. Put your pack next to the tree behind to your right and roll out the bivvy bag down hill with the sleep mat and sleeping bag inside. chuck the cammo net over the lot. Chuck some leaves on top and bed down. Stuff the ratios down your shirt whilst on the move to warm them up and eat them sort of cold or use a zestotherm to warm them up they don't need cooking. Only when tucked up nice and warm in the bivvy can you put a light on to check orders or text the family

Watched your shark stuff first and ended up binging loads of your content these past few days must say it keeps me thoroughly entertained
Cheers Richie! I can’t wait to get back out wild camping, I’ve had 6 weeks of courses in Uk in last few months so struggled to get out as much

Cheers mate, Dragon outdoors is a legend! Appreciate you watching my stuff! Nice one 🤘
Way I see it stealth rules are go quiet go quick be aware of your situation and camouflage your site a very good video and a good time 👍 😀
That's very true but if you go to quick and leave too fast there's almost no point lol
And in general no fire or flame……
cool video,+1 sub,
my fav tarp setup is a low profile one, camping is ilegal on my country, you are not allowed to do shit here, grettings from spain!

Different levels of stealth, I will always have a fire of some sort. It’s good for morale 👍
If going Covert you go Hard Routine, no light or fire.
No noise etc.
Hi Matt please could you tell me which basha that is and what size, also the netting size? Cheers 👍
It’s the DPM British army basha and the Mk7 4x2m woodland camo net mate
