Thankyou so very much mate , It was a genuine pleasure to host you at the Hidden Valley Bushcraft (camp 1) . Looking forward to the next outing towards the end of the year 🥶😝 🤝 Nick
Impressive chap. During my brief Royal Navy career 35 years ago I worked with a fair few Royals and their quiet but competent "can do" attitude was always inspiring to an eighteen year old lad. I will have to investigate both yours and his channels.
I have been very fortunate as a UK Veteran to spend a weekend on one of Nicks Woodland Warrior Weekends. Reconnecting with the outdoors and spending time away from the daily grind has been a huge benefit and allowed me to find some inner comfort and a safe place to go when required. Thank you Nick and the team for all the amazing hard work.
Great video ex infantry here bushcraft saved my life when I was at a low teach my two youngest lads all skills i know, wouldn't be here for them if i didn't follow this pathway, the best rehabilitation for anyone with ptsd ,👍
So much to say but honestly the best way to say it is... We need more Nicks in the world. It's sad that anyone has to go through what he has gone through but it made him the person he is today.
Wow. You have just made my day. I've missed Nick and loved following him on his channel. Finding out he's started a new one is fantastic. Nick, it would be amazing to see/hear you at the next Bushcraft Show next May. Great to see Nick again. Great video.
it was so nice to connect with Nick again, I've missed him. I got the ol ptsd and he really helped me through lockdown. Thanks Mike, and Nick, you fantastic chaps!
Great video lads, The UK needs more bushcraft schools and dedicated places where people can practice their hobbies. Its becoming harder to find land owners who will give you permission to access their land. I started bushcraft/survival camping when i was about 10, using my grandfathers canvas P37 web set to store my gear and an old British Army clasp knife. the Changes to UK knife laws is also making things harder for people. I'm now living in France where the rules on wild Camping "le camping sauvage" and Knives are less strict (everybody carries at least one folding lockable 4' cheese knife) dans la campagne
Really good to see you on RUclips again Nick. Really miss your videos - they were always so informative. Your book is on my Christmas wishlist. Take care.
This was way better than most TV program... Great to see Nick again, I really liked his channel a lot. :-) You two guys are the best outdoor duo I´ve seen so far. Once again, I´ve taken a few useful tips with me. Hope from time to time we will have the joy to see more combined videos. Great cabin btw. 👍 Keep going guys! Best regards from Germany
Thanks for making this one, Mike. Great to see Nick again and to catch up with what he’s up to. Good news to hear that he might be present on the tubes again - the previous channel rapidly became an essential part of the corpus, in my view, delivering (along with the likes of yourself, and notable others) practical, realistic outdoor skills in an entertaining and calming way. And then much missed, although I recognise of course that every content maker has their own life to live, first and foremost. Good on all of you.
{{3}} Great find! I just came across the new crowdfunding project for freebeat's Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike. It's a game-changer in the e-bike industry with its outstanding features. One of the most impressive things is the indoor mode where you can recharge the bike while using it indoors. The brushless 750W motor, 80Nm torque, and top speed of 20mph make it a powerful ride. Plus, the 80mm front suspension, puncture-resistant fat tires, and IPX5 Waterproof finish ensure a smooth and reliable journey in any weather condition. And don't forget about the Smart Saddle Detection+ and the unique ability to convert your indoor fitness efforts into CO2-free miles for outdoor rides. What a brilliant way to combine fitness, technology, and sustainability!
Mike - this video has made me think that you should get into podcasting! Get survival guests on, like the chap in this video, it would be great to listen to and I am certain lot of people would be interested.
I echo all of the previous contributor's comments. I have watched all of the HVB videos and have been on the Woodland Warrior Programme weekends and outings. What an amazing experience I have had as a result. It gave me the confidence to go into the outdoors and reconnect with the countryside. All is done in a safe learning environment. What an ambassador for the veteran community to learn about mother nature through bushcraft.
Thank you for arranging this video with Nick, we watched many of his previous videos and had wondered where he had gone. Great to see him thriving in an environment that he enjoys and can pass on quality info to people that as we noted could save someone's life one day. The cabin was a winner, families must love that and we know several veterans that have put their families through challenging times on their journey to a better place, so huge respect for the Woodland Warroir work! Now subscribed to both, looking forward to reading the book.
I've heard about this awesome woodland retreat that supports injured serving and veterans in all aspects, and I am glad I've stumbled across this vlog. I am a veteran who's battling with mental health issues, i.e., GAD & PTSD after being diagnosed 02 years after covid. I am currently looking at activities that involve being in a natural environment, being from the Pacific Islands myself, and loving the earth's oven, too. Great work in the campaign, and a big thank you for your support.
This was a great collaboration! The torniquet and general first aid advice was really useful given Nicks first hand experience. I see a lot of bushcraft people adding torniquets to their first aid kits without realising they need training in able to use them safely.
definitely recommend an outdoor first aid course that covers all of this stuff in detail over the course of a weekend for anyone who is in the position to need a tourniqet
Great to see Nick back online again! I really missed his insights after he stopped creating for the old channel so very thankful to be pointed towards the new channel, subbed.
It's so very, very refreshing to see Nick and HVB back on RUclips: I, too, was a regular watcher of his channel before it went silent. In fact, I owe him a special kind of debt, because it was after conversation with him on how to pack a "brew" kit properly, that I found my favorite brand of tea! Now, we've got lots more to pore over from him, so this video will naturally get more views in the future . . .
What a great collaboration between two bastions of British bushcraft. Ive missed you Nick and have subscribed to your new channel. Im looking forward to all the new content. There were some golden nuggets of info in this video, which goes to show you never stop learning. As an NHS Paramedic, I'm fully on board with not just carrying major trauma kit but having it ready to deploy instantly. Tearing one of those foil packets open with blood-soaked hands is no easy task. Food for thought. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this and hope you guys team up again. Thank you.
Absolutely golden, as Nick said "good egg" helping those of us who missed the changing of the guard to keeping us up to speed of events. Wishing both channels success in the future.
I love watching bushcraft videos. It unlocks something deep inside me. Surviving with minimalism is something we forgot long time ago. Even if I am barely going to use these skills atleast it brings me closer to the nature.
Ah it’s good to see Nick again. I only discovered his channel a few months before he stopped. That was a great watch and as always you pick up vital tips
Thrilled to have Nick’ videos back on RUclips. Because of him I have gone out to camp, camp solo and volunteered for a conservation group here in Canada - Canada Parks And Wilderness Society
Hey there! As a fellow ebike enthusiast, I stumbled upon this new project called freebeat Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike after watching your video. I must say, I'm truly impressed by the outstanding features this bike offers. The ability to charge the bike when applying indoor mode is a game-changer! Not only does it provide an exhilarating speed and power with its brushless 750W motor, but the 80mm front suspension and puncture-resistant fat tires also ensure a smooth ride in any outdoor terrain. And the fact that it can transform indoor fitness into CO2-free miles for outdoor rides is a brilliant way to make a positive impact on the environment. Can't wait to see this product in action and support the crowdfunding campaign! Keep up the amazing work!
