They should have go for sound effects instead of just music that's playing. That will make it more immersive.
Universum on the real ride they do, they also have someone that speaks to you like an operator telling you to “look out”. It’s a lot more immersive in real life.

ok so for someone like me who wants to go on roller coasters but has anxiety about them this is great because you wouldn't be focused on the fact that your on a roller coaster you'd be too focused on the vr

I agree, but I wish it was that easy. Whenever I go in a rollercoaster (which is almost never), the wind hits my face so hard that I can’t breathe. One of my fears is quite literally suffocating on a rollercoaster, unable to get any actual air or stop the ride. It really gets in the way of everything. If you guys know how to help with this, you should reply so other people see it too if they have this problem. Maybe I’m not the only one!

The Monster Explorers no..u ride the coaster and put on some sort of vr glasses which has an animation that syncs with the ride itself so u will feel ur in a different world

@MFD Dharma I didn't say I would get nauseous while watching this. I like roller-coaster. But there are people who are afraid of heights and they aren't weaklings for that.
The worst it does to me, you know when you was a kid and your parents went over the tiniest bridge in a car the bumped bridges and as you want down you felt yourself need a wee a little, that's what happens whenever I do vr rollercoaster normal rollercoaster are easy but the vr ones fuck my head, even the ones where you just sit in those chairs

As long as the VR video goes sync with the motion of the coaster you should be fine. The main reason why some people are feeling motion sick wile playing vr games is because their body is not moving the same like what their eyes see in the headset.
I would rather just ride the roller coaster with out the vr..

B is for budget cuts. I’m guessing something similar to what happened to Journey to Atlantis
MrDuckeyPants from what I heard, budget cuts wasnt the main reason. The tech simply had far too many issues causing far too many delays and total shutdowns.
I only did the vr once and it was a horrible experience. Sound never worked to start off and the entire unit had the desire to rip itself off my head whole time.
So I am glad Kraken is back to its origional glory.

Not even worth calling it the Kraken. Instead, call it constant stuff going towards your face but only in virtual reality (not vr bc length of the name)

Kraken was my first experience in a real roller coaster, and the vr really helped me to get familiar with that feeling without getting scared with the real view. It made me love the adrenaline more than being terrified. It makes me very sad to know that the vr is no longer a thing in Kraken. :c

they were kinda sickening to use anyways, it was a good try but on a coaster like this it doesn't work very well.
I *THINK* they sent them to Busch Gardens for a different ride.
@@marnie9452 It was supposed to occur for this year but due to the problems this ride had the entire technology initiative got scrapped (as in this ride as enough problems to chain react onto the entire chain outside of Battle for Eire (which at the time the problems came up had already had work started on it)
At this point we can assume the headsets have either been dismantled or sent to Williamsburg as extra headsets
This will be my first loop ride

I can see why the DR made people motion sick. It isn't timed correctly to to coaster as it can't adjust its speed to the coaster as there aren't any sensors on the track & trains to give an accurate speed & location point & each set on the train is the same but when your in a loop or turn would be different based on where you are on the train!
I'm glad they went with no VR, but could see them used on future coasters!

Yup I was there for the opening weekend when they brought this in... All the same problems, and the fact it took 20 minutes per run because they had to handwash all of the headsets inbetween rides.

I have tried VR coasters before and let me tell you. Its fucking horrible. Your brain and your body are not ready to have this sort of experience and it doesn't feel real at all. All it does is make you want to vomit. Not recommended at all.

Can I just be really upset that the movements don't match up 100% accurately? It's like 80% which is MORE than enough to make me and anyone else with motion sickness to spill my guta out from the lack of visual/motion connection. Just use the raw motion data from the ride to map the motion in VR, it's not that hard!
This looks interesting for those who are afraid of loops ( like me) the vr can help get over the fear to be honest nice visuals

I’m waiting for the VR where we get mauled by a orca, then blame it on our hair for cause of attack.
Going on this for the first time with the headset was so weird, because I don't have depth perception at ALL when I don't have my glasses on... except that the screen was close enough to be in focus for both eyes. It was SERIOUSLY trippy; I barely even missed being able to say 'oh look I can see my (old) house from here!'.
This looks a thousand times cooler than the Superman VR coaster at Six Flags.
Y did they have to get rid of the theming the ride had, give the ride stupid restraints and put vr on one of the best floorlesses and put it near the bottom of the pack? WHY SEAWORLD?! JUST WHY??!!!!!
