Facts. I have the MT6 Snowman version in my ITX pc rig, and it’s done a reliable and superb job in maintaining good temps of my Ryzen 3 3100 up until now. 😊
Many thanks that you have introduced the Snowman tower cooler a few years ago and now I have bought the MT6S version of Snowman for my i7 4790 which runs cooler now (delid + liquid metal)
My 12th gen cooler performs really well! I was using a fairly well reviewed gammaxx cooler that I had to order a new bracket for, long story short there was no need to bother fitting it.
I have the same cpu, it runs to 150watts max, a quick undervolt of 0.1 volt, dropped 20-30watts and 10c temps. I suggest everyone having locked cpus to perform a undervolt. It benefits it greatly, i am already using a giant ak620 cooler to begin with.
Even if thermals are acceptable on a stock cooler, I would still prefer a bigger aftermarket cooler for a more quiet PC. I 3d printed a bracket to get my old 212 Hyper Plus to fit on AM4, and it works great.
I have an i7 gen12 and it's cooling is inadequate and noisy. Went back to get an extra case air extraction fan and it's still inadequate. Hope to get an different CPU fan ( Noctua ) when stock comes in.
You should try (if available where you live) the Thermalright Peerless Assassin. That thing is ridiculously cheap (in the US, at least) and keeps my i7 13700 under control. However, I agree, the stock cooler is laughably inadequate for an i7. Even at 65W it sounds like freaking jet engine.
PWM isn't control via voltage up/down. That's DC. PWM is pulse width modulation. The device is constantly getting a series of pulsed voltage at a fixed/full value. As the name implies, speed is adjusted by modulating how long those pulses are. Think of it like driving by only standing on the gas pedal or being completely off the gas pedal. But you have to switch between them really really fast and choose your speed by how long each gas pedal stand is. Terrible for cars/driving but great for electric motors and actually allows finer control.
I agree the 5600 is the “better deal” over the 5700x for gaming, especially when they had the sales. The 5700x is marginally better performing, so it’s an upgrade, but it is worse “value”
Could u make a video on how to build an low budget PC? Im not sure if i should rather buy an Xeon or an i5 2500k. Which Xeon would be best on a low budget?
Just dusted off the Intel socket 775 stock cooler to use on my spare i7-2600k and Z77 Extreme6 board, which has 775 mlunt holes. The cooler's as beefy as AMD Wraith Max, and has copper core instead of just the aluminum block. Intel seriously cheaped out on their cooler with newer chipsets.
@@Olav_Hansen Clock stretching, maybe? There is no way the little stock cooler should be able to keep the 12400F under 80 degrees in R23. That's an AVX2 workload. Maaaaaybe in a single run where you're not reaching sustained power limits and not throttling yet. If you unlock power limits properly in your BIOS, you should see the difference.
I wish Aigo still made the icy k4. I bought 2 of them, years ago, and they work great for lga 2011 systems. They looked way better than what is on offer now as well, with an all matte black finish and breathing red LEDs on the fan and surrounding the heatsink, which was much beefier than that ICE400SA at about the same size as the snowman MT4. I still have one, although I removed the heatsink LEDs after I accidentally broke the wire off 😅 There was supposedly an RGB version as well but I never found it.
Do a video on something like the Gelid GPU cooler, because I replaced the inner fan with a high RPM Noctua and both my CPU and GPU temperatures went down a lot. My poorly cooled 6600xt now is always cool.

I'm genuinely happy the 13th gen stock cooler is perfectly usable, even as an AMD user. AMD has gone backwards by only including the Wraith Stealth on the 5600/X and 7600 while completely abandoning their wonderful Spire cooler (used on R5 1600/2600X/3600X). Hopefully competition heats up on this front and future mainstream CPUs can be used with the stock cooling without any worries and/or hassles. I built a PS5 equivalent PC late last year for myself and my brother using a R5 5600, and initially it was hitting 80C even in lightly-threaded games. Luckily, mid-2022 and later runs of this CPU are apparently great bins, and after using Curve optimizer (it ended up applying a -0.3V undervolt to the CPU at stock speeds, and months later no side effects are in sight) and tuning the system fans a bit it quite simply refuses to cross the 80C threshold, even in demanding games like Death Stranding. But I doubt the average user has the time to research all these aspects (many don't even bother to check the built-in Windows HW monitor), so yeah, good stock cooling should definitely be praised.
I didn't hear a volume difference between the two Intel fans as much as I heard a difference in pitch. The newer one is higher pitched, so I think its running faster.
The best box cooler is the old amd 125watt box cooler. Yes the one with the optron 64 from amd. And yes it still can be use on a amd am4 and am5 socket today . And work great than the last amd box cooler for a Ryzen serie. (All Ryzen box coolers)
