Wonderful explanation and roadmap to start "noodling" in different keys and creating original music. I will start with the chords and add the melody and see where that takes me. Thank you, Matt!

Thanks Matt! This covers a lot of what I've been doing when noodling led me to tunes I wrote. What I still struggle with when doing that is making the tune sound more interesting throughout. Often I have a good idea as a starting point, but fail at constructing different parts (like Verse and Chorus) which sound really distinct from one another. My biggest issue though are bridge parts with key changes, I have no clue how to systematically approach these. I recently wrote something which still has room for improvement, but with which I am quite satisfied for the time being, still it happened more or less 'by accident'. Are there any lessons yet which cover this or migt there be one down the road?
