I have a question? if you HAVE to incude the song title in the chorus, there are songs such as bohemian rapcity and a couple others that dont do that. why is that?

You may not know this, but what you are doing is absolutely amazing, there are not many people out there willing to make tutorials on Christian music, and not to mention beautiful and fun ones. I've had my ukulele for a month and all I did was making covers but when I thought about making my own song, I had no creativity with writing the lyrics at all 😅 but with this tutorial I got the idea of how to make my own song. So thank you so much for this tutorial! I finally got the hang of making my own songs with the help of this video 😄

10 steps 1) song topic and title 2) song form (sections like verses choruses bridges) 3)F G C Am for verse 4) Re-arrange those chords for chorus 5) Choose strum(s) 6) Chorus lyrics that feature Title at least 3 times 7) Verse section w/ subtopic lyrics (?) 8) Melody - Start humming to strumming pattern & chord progression. Find what you like. Write chorus a little higher than verse. 9) Repeat the melody in the verses 10) Practice and revise if desired.

Good advice, Dylan! Love the outtakes! They are funny and add a real sense of genuineness and playfulness. Do you ever catch yourself accidentally borrowing a few notes from another song while writing tune you really thought was entirely new? I’ve done that a time or two or 3.
Thanks! And yes, outtakes are always fun! As far as accidentally borrowing notes goes, yes I've definitely done that a time or two as well. I'm sure most songwriters can relate!

Is there a reason why you play your uke above that hole and not on the sweet spot where the... Uhm stick thing meets the corpus? It's as if you were still playing the guitar but who knows, maybe you have a reason for doing so
I have a guitar, a piano, and a ukulele. I took 2 years of piano and learned basically just what the notes are called. But I learned the ukulele in 5 days. Totally recommend learning the guitar last.

Or I jsut find myself the melody of the words in my head... My touble is to find the appropriate chords that would fit in to what I sang in my head. What should I do?
for me it’s so easy to write lyrics it just splurs out if that makes sense, i just can’t make a strumming pattern and put it all together with the ukelele and music it’s so hard

I bought my first Ukulele today and wrote my first song on it in about 20 minutes after figuring out the tuning etc. It's called Uno....you can see why. :) :)
