I have always felt old homes require a certain type of owner - a custodian who is not only sympathetic to the architecture but it's history. Charlie is the perfect person for this home. He has become its storyteller and I appreciate his enthusiasm for, concern about and involvement with all aspects of his new role. Really enjoyed listening to you both and continue to enjoy all of the home content.
DARLING JOSIE AND CHARLIE , HELLO DARLINGS , HOW DO YOU DO ? I LOVE AND ENJOY WATCHING THE TWO OF YOU LOVE BIRDS . CHARLIE YOU LOOK MANLY HOT FABULOUS . JOSIE YOU LOOK ELEGANT AND BEAUTIFUL . I USED TO PLAY " HIDE AND SEEK , " WITH MY HOUSE PET 350 LB MALE LION , HE WOULD ROAR SUPER LOUD THAT IT ECHOED THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE , A BIT SCARY , BUT HE IS A GENTLE GIANT TOWARDS ME . As a retired military spouse who has moved over 35 times🥴, I'm impressed with how organized you and Charlie were with the move. You seemingly had it nailed the first time 😊. I can't wait to see what you do with Christmas 🎄💞.
Such great tips 💖 Also, Charlie's voice is so calming, he's great at explaining things. On a side note, yes I know it's early lol, but I can't wait to see how you decorate the house for Christmas, I think it will be soo lovely!
Yes! I always think the same thing about Charlie’s voice lmao I love when they do videos together they both have such calming and sweet voices 💖 Also you aren’t the only one who is excited to see their house during Christmas ! I can’t wait!
The look on the pup's face on Charlie's lap, looking at the camera, then looking up at him is absolutely priceless!!! Hard to focus on what you're saying. Toooo cute
I just love Q&A's.....thank you for doing this! Your home is stunning and honestly no matter the style of it you can decorate the interiors how ever you want. Fill it with things you love, you can not go wrong. Decor is always a personal preference!!! Hoping you can do a "mom and you" carriage house tour....that would be amazing!❤
In watching your early post-move vlogs there was a sense that you were both (understandably) very much invested in to making your new house a home and building a country haven away from the stresses of Covid. And it has, since day one, felt very much like an adventure that has been a real joy to watch. TFS ...
Lovely chat and update, I half expected you to lean forward and offer us a cup of tea. You two are naturals at all this so relaxed, it’s special to share your life experiences.
I must say I was smiling as I listened to you both... we moved 3 years ago in mid November from Surrey to Cornwall...... I waited until we arrived for wardrobes drawers etc, as we moved to a bigger house.. with no built in storage, lucky for us it was Black Friday just after the move... I had cardboard boxes stacked as a storage wall for clothes and bought 2 rails.. for 12 weeks.. but it all worked out ok. Your house is lovely, and you are both so happy
this is one for the archives. I loved this video. So kind of both of you to share your journey with us. Very cosy by the fire. Josie, you look gorgeous in your jumper dress. This is a passion project for you both.
That was so interesting! Just loved hearing about your move and your sweet relationship with each other! 🥰. Your move and adventure has captured no only my heart but thousands of of others as well. Always look forward to your vlogs!!!😍
I totally agree with Charlie about waiting to buy things to decorate the home. My husband and I bought a $6000 sectional and $3000 mattress which we would do totally different now. It's only been 4 years and wasted all that money.
as someone who grew up in the cuntryside, you learn to really stack up errands for when you go into the city/into town to do them. In my family, we don't go out for just one thing unless it is vital, but also, if someone is going out and you need just one thing done that doesn't really need you, we ask the other person to do it for us. i love living in the country side, it's calmer, the way of life is totally different, and you always find something to do... but i do appreciate being able to walt 5 minutes down the street for a bag of milk that i am missing and so on.
Charlie is utterly charming!! You can see how connected he is with the house. It is truly meant to be for you to own this place and transform it into your home. You are looking beautiful as always Josie. Keep the video's coming!! Love them.
Lovely video...I have to say, I love the combination of fashion and vlogs with you and Charlie in them. I remember when a random snippet of a comment Charlie made sent everyone reeling in the comment section...writing some pretty unwarranted and rather mean things. We all have our days, our personalities and quibbles...so I just wanted to applaud your push on attitude Josie and tell you that Charlie is wonderful to watch and listen to. Your videos have been such a blessing this year and I wish the two of you the very very best!
I live in a brick house and repointing needs to be done every 10 to 15 years. Very expensive. It's coming up to 22 years for us living here so next spring we will be repointing and cleaning the bricks. YOu guys had a nicely redone house. We had to redo the electrical, heating and plumbing so thats where the majority of our money when to but then again because of those things we bought our house for a steal. Charlie is such an amazing home owner and taking so much interest in the house and it's history. In the US our 150 years old house is a baby consider your home. I love to hear Charlie talk about the house and the work and history. Stay healthy and happy always guys.💖
I’m so incredibly happy for you and Charlie on your new old home!!! It’s absolutely gorgeous and must be a dream come true for you both! I wish you both the very best! These home vlogs I’m always looking forward to watching are always such a joy to watch!!! Sending you lots of love! Have a beautiful and magical day! 💖💖💖💖
Very informative vlog Josie and Charlie for people moving and buying their first house, especially an older house. Have moved several times and it doesn’t get any easier or less stressful, you just become better prepared. You are a lovely couple and it’s great seeing the progress you are making every day on your beautiful house, thank you for sharing it with us.🥰💜
I've decorated several homes with estate furniture and furniture from consignment shops. The quality of older furniture is better and I tend to like unusual pieces.
What an absolutely delightful video. You both sound so sensible and grown up , true curators of your new home. You are doing a fantastic job making it into an amazing home. You are respectful of your home and surroundings and community. As a couple I admire the way you conducted the chat , both listening to each other and acknowledging the others opinion. All important things in a relationship and future. I’ve been a subscriber for a few years and have seen you mature and grow and it’s lovely. Your parents must be very proud. Keep up the hard work and enjoy your rewards. 😍 Hope that your mum is looking forward to being so close by in a gorgeous home of her own . ❤️ x
Josie, I am so happy for you. I have loved your content ever since COVID started. I am absolutely obsessed with you closet as well, my fav room in your entire house! Also, I want an update on the carriage house! It has been so long since we have seen it!
Great tips Josie and Charlie! I cannot believe I built my home about three years ago. I moved in a couple of weeks before Christmas and it was such a tiring day. I only got two hours of sleep and become sick the next day. Moving is so much work. I was thankful to have friends and family helping me move in all my things. Really enjoyed your Q & A!
I love seeing the two of you. You make such a beautiful couple, the one you read about in the fairytale books. Josie, please keep making these videos, and I would have loved for Charlie to start filming his too. He has so much knowledge to share. I can’t get enough of your videos and they have given me a renewed interest/love for my own house. My kids are younger, but probably in your age brackets. Congratulations and many blessings to you both!❤️
Fabulous Q&A you are blessed with such a lovely chap Josie, rarely do you find such a young man so genuinely interested, and engaged in his surroundings, you are a lovely couple for sure, and that pupper of yours is totally smitten with Charlie. ❤🍁
Your house is absolutely amazing! I loved your content even before your moved into this place, and now I am addicted to your channel! (In a good, not dangerous way!😀) Greetings to you and Charlie, and both of your fur babies from Serbia 🇷🇸❤
more than a handful Charlie is remarkable I can't say it enough but Josie you have held the wings to fly here. Both make this a couple to go far beyond. Good job!
You had so many great tips on moving! Our last movers thanked us profusely for having everything color-coded and labeled for each room! They said it made everything go so much smoother. Of course there will still be questions but posting signage certainly helps to label/color-code each room or area! One thing I would add to your list of things that go in the car with you are personal files... bank statements, insurance, investments, birth certificates, passports, legal papers, etc. If you need to put your hands on important papers quickly, you don’t want to rummage through oodles of boxes! This is especially true if you are moving quite a distance away! And I’ve also always transported fragile heirlooms in the car with me, if possible! But I worry too much, so this last one is more of a personal preference. Absolutely loving the fireside chat and would love for this to become a regular feature! I’ve loved seeing the past several years of Fashion Mumblr, but these past six months have really been exceptional! Hearing your thoughts and insights on the huge life change is really wonderful! Great video! The only thing missing was sweet Dickens! 🥰
It's always lovely when you and Charlie (and little Dexter) sit down together for a 'chat'. You two have a nice dynamic that definitely compliments one another. Your London to the Cotswolds house move journey vlogs have been a saving grace during these very trying times! As always, you are wished the best and we look forward to more! (Side Note: Could not help notice how 'parental' Charlie is with little Dexie, preparing for the future 'other' babies perhaps... ) Lots of love!
The first Drawing Room fireside chat! Loved it. You both looked so cozy and happy :) Charlie is so nice to listen to and he is very serious but with a fun inclusive personality. He should host more of your vids
Josie- I finally figured out who you remind me of- The legendary actress Tippi Hedren.!! Love watching your videos. You, Charlie and the boys are just so sweet.
Interesting chat I have great memories of your first summer in your new house. The weather was so hot and you both had to dig over your borders to make the best time for planting your veg.so many beautiful plants then came the stove and the beautiful armoire in your bathroom. Will be looking forward to some cooking videos for the colder winter nights.👌👌👌
My husband and I are moving from Surrey to Devon next month ( we are old enough to be your parents so probably our last move 😊) our motivation was being furloughed during the pandemic and having time to reflect on our stage of life but mainly the stamp duty holiday which has saved us over 20k on the house we are buying! Have been a fan of yours for the past couple of years x
Wow!!! We started watching your vlogs just when you guys were moving... it's been such a joy to watch you .. and all the projects you tackled... painting the chairs in the garden when it was so very hot... all the lovely unboxing... the Sunday roasts.. the pond....you've really worked so hard.. and look at it now!! What a beautiful transformation!! We wish you many many years of happiness and pure bliss!! With lots of love from South Africa!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Hi Josie and Charlie l enjoyed this emensfully, l truly love the way Charlie explains everything so clearly, and over the months you have both done an amazing job of decorating and furnishing your beautiful home. Both of you have put so much love and care into everything you do. Great tips for moving house. Thanks so much for sharing. Much lovexxxx
Hi Josie and Charlie I enjoy look at the home renovation videos. Your dress look amazing. I think the chair you are sitting in look amazing in front that fire place.
Brilliant video. I am old enough to be your mum, but love your content and wish that we had this sort of advice available to us when we were embarking on purchasing our first properties. Well done on everything you have achieved. Attitude is everything and you both have tons of the right sort of attitude. Thank you for sharing x
I was 8.5 months pregnant and had 18 month old when we moved house. My neighbour took us in for the day and my husband and a couple of friends moved the furniture. They did a fabulous job and everything was put away. The family we bought the house from had the house professionally cleaned so I didn’t have to do anything. I did pack all the boxes on my own. We also paid for professional movers. I went into labour the week after we moved.
Great video Josie! You can tell the love with both of you talk about your gorgeous house and your plans! Cant wait to see your Christmas decor in that lovely home! 💕
Charlie needs to become a host of some sort. He's so good at expressing his ideas, and is very easy to listen to. We enjoyed this discussion, but I must say of course, that Dicky played a perfect part also.
Well, I really enjoyed that video. Very interesting especially about the history of the house and your journey ( adventure) so far. I am so pleased for you and you seem so happy together which is lovely. And how much does dexter love his dad😍😍😍
Josie, you look stunning!! I was going to comment on the last vlog when you said that dress showed every bit and say that I think the opposite. It fits you like a dream and I’m so jealous of it! This was a beautiful setup with the fire and Charlie & you looked so elegant in your dress❤️
Ok I’m SO glad to hear you say that about finding good ethic cuisine in the countryside😂 I lived in Atlanta for years and just did not appreciate all the incredible international flavors that were so convenient to me. Now we live far north of Atlanta in the countryside and I crave good Indian and Chinese or African food. My husband just shakes his head when I come back from Atlanta and I’ve picked up several orders of my favorite takeouts😂 Such a helpful video! We’re getting ready to build our “forever home” and the videos and Instagram have been incredibly helpful and inspiring!
Josie n Charlie... What a wonderful video. I just loved it. You are a most gorgeous couple. So happy for you both ....all that you are doing n the life you share. God bless .stay safe n well. ❤️🥰
I've moved a lot in my life (21 times in total thus far) . Your tips on purging are right and for items that you're not sure if you'll need them, put in a box marked with the room location as well as a question mark somewhere on the box and set it aside to unpack at a later time. That way when you do get to unpack that box you will know by then really if you need the items or not. I'm currently planning on a major move overseas and to facilitate packing, as well to keep moving/shipping costs down is what I can't replace will be packed and the rest will be re-homed elsewhere (sold, given away or donated). Also with such a big move I'm purging my clothes so I'm only taking what I can take on the plane and stay within airline luggage limits as I can't drive to the new country destination. But the current world situation has slowed down the time of the move as well as giving me more time to get rid of things. I love Christmas and I'm looking forward to seeing how you'll decorate this year.
Such a great video! The previous owner of the house must be so happy and at peace that you and Charlie are taking such great care of it! Also, I love your dress, it looks fantastic on you!
When you get your faux mantle made if you get it made to the top inside of fireplace before wood molding it will slide right underneath the molding and look built in.
Hi Josie and Charlie..... absolutely loved your fireside chat ,it’s a great way of catching up on all you’ve achieved over the last few months ,I never miss a vlog by the way either... I also live in the Cotswolds born and bred and I said before and I’ll say again WELCOME ❤️💞🌹🥰🌻💖😘👍💜😉
Thanks for the tips. Love all of your videos, been watching for about a year. I do agree with saving ,using all of the old boxes, I did see ,on someone's video, moving boxes used for clothing..clothes are hung inside the boxes !! Great idea !
I cannot wait to see the drawing room at Christmas time. Oh my goodness the tree in their would just look so beautiful, what a great place for evening got chocolates and games with family, if we can that is
I recently moved to a new rental and I found boxes for free that people in the community listed. Once I got settled on my place I relisted the boxes for free and quickly someone came and picked them all up. So a great tip is to check community posts and the give them away for free after you unpacked.
Thank you so much for answering my question in so much detail, I’ve started to follow different Instagram accounts and have already found such wonderful pieces and brands I never would have discovered!
Last time we moved was 1993, so this is dated. For clothing. I grabbed like items on hangers, zip tied together at top of hangers. Then I took a large trash bag and cut a hole at bottom, turned it upside down and brought it down around clothes; essentially it's now a cheap garment bag that can be left open or tied at what is now the new bottom. For longer dresses, etc., I started with the "garment bag" and then placed the bottom of the dresses into a second garbage bag. Bring its handles up around the hangers and items are fully covered. At new home you can hang these bags and they act as garment protection until you get around to permanent placement. :)
Best way to move clothes; self assembly cardboard wardrobe boxes. Hang clothes on the rails provided, easy peasy. After move. flatten them out and repurpose to protect floors when decorating. (also in my case, cut to fit bedroom windows for use at night!) Every stacking box I bought, was re-used, or passed on to other people. they make the best use of space on the van, rather than loading odd shapes and sizes.
Great tips. You have already achieved so much and I can see that it might be a challenge to furnish auctions in the Cotswolds' and older homes in England might also be helpful.
Would really like to know provenance of the dress you are wearing. Wonderful presentation by Charlie - he has really taken his new house to heart - really enjoyed the history.
I have always felt old homes require a certain type of owner - a custodian who is not only sympathetic to the architecture but it's history. Charlie is the perfect person for this home. He has become its storyteller and I appreciate his enthusiasm for, concern about and involvement with all aspects of his new role. The way that you two interact with one another is very cute to watch!
Josie! You look like a Duchess in this video with Prince during an interview to the press ! :D Love it xx

Your fireside chat is so delightful! Love the chair you are sitting in Josie.
You look so unbelievably elegant in this video 💖💖
What a great informative video. Such fun. I hope you vlog all about Christmas decorating.

Hi Josie and Charlie I enjoy look at the home renovation videos. Your dress look amazing. I think the chair you are sitting in look amazing in front that fire place.
Literally moved today and so happy to watch this !!!
Brilliant video. I am old enough to be your mum, but love your content and wish that we had this sort of advice available to us when we were embarking on purchasing our first properties. Well done on everything you have achieved. Attitude is everything and you both have tons of the right sort of attitude.
Thank you for sharing x
Loved this! So nice to hear more of Charlie as he often is just mumbling in the background. Love you two. ❤️
👍🏼👍🏼 Double thumbs up! Love the whole set up with the chairs next to the fire place 🤩 I swear you two should have your own home network show 😄😍😍
Fantastic video! Please please do more of you & Charlie doing Q&A’s it is so very enjoyable and informative!!!🙋🏻
Charlie needs to become a host of some sort. He's so good at expressing his ideas, and is very easy to listen to. We enjoyed this discussion, but I must say of course, that Dicky played a perfect part also.
No, that's Dexy who's the eldest little boy, the one who keeps a daily I'm having my way smile on his face.
Loved this Q&A. Lovely of you both to share so much with us. Perfect end to a long work week. Thank you!
You look so beautiful in this, Josie!
Well, I really enjoyed that video. Very interesting especially about the history of the house and your journey ( adventure) so far. I am so pleased for you and you seem so happy together which is lovely. And how much does dexter love his dad😍😍😍
Really enjoyed that! So exciting to hear the two of you discussing and sharing all about your glorious house. More like that please ❤️❤️👍👍🙏🙏🌈xxx
Josie, you look stunning!! I was going to comment on the last vlog when you said that dress showed every bit and say that I think the opposite. It fits you like a dream and I’m so jealous of it! This was a beautiful setup with the fire and Charlie & you looked so elegant in your dress❤️
Do you mabey remember witch vlog? I slightly remember but couldn't find it back.
Thank you for this Q&A. It was very informative and relaxing. I mostly enjoyed the interaction between the two of you. Many blessings to you both.
At one point I couldnt see dexy when you tickled Charlie's lap, I laughed out loud and then realised what you'd tickled. Lol what a lovely update x
Hahahahahaha
Josie Jolie and Charlie, you have outdone yourselves with this Q & A 😍 👏 🥰 ✨ thanks to you both 🙏 💐 💕💕
Ok I’m SO glad to hear you say that about finding good ethic cuisine in the countryside😂 I lived in Atlanta for years and just did not appreciate all the incredible international flavors that were so convenient to me. Now we live far north of Atlanta in the countryside and I crave good Indian and Chinese or African food. My husband just shakes his head when I come back from Atlanta and I’ve picked up several orders of my favorite takeouts😂
Such a helpful video!
So happy for you both and love any/all content. Live vicariously thru these videos. :)
When you get your faux mantle made if you get it made to the top inside of fireplace before wood molding it will slide right underneath the molding and look built in.
Time flyes when ya having fun guys, you've done so much in that time x x, ❤️
You two could be royalty lol. Love u both and great getting to know Charlie better. Hes cool xx

Loved this Josie, you are such a lovely couple and so interesting to listen to.x 😊
There will ALWAYS be a project to do on the house, in the house, the lawn, the garden. You will never run out of things to do and care for.
Evening Josie - A lovely chit chat style Q&A, very useful tips!
Very enjoyable video. You are such a nice couple. Enjoy your home.
What a charming vlog. I enjoyed it very much. You are a lovely couple. 🥰
Loved this one, I could watch you & Charlie all day xx
I recently moved to a new rental and I found boxes for free that people in the community listed. Once I got settled on my place I relisted the boxes for free and quickly someone came and picked them all up. So a great tip is to check community posts and the give them away for free after you unpacked.
Very informative Josie. Thanks alot💗
Loved the q&a. So honest. Dexy stole the show tho!! X
Oh wow! Josie you look beautiful and so ladylike and graceful 💕✨
Back at work today- watching this on the sly!😜Thank you Josie for your kind thoughts! Feeling much better😊❤️ Excited about this video!
Would love a video like this on budgetting. How do you handle all the costs for the house? Saving for future projects, ...
Thank you so much for answering my question in so much detail, I’ve started to follow different Instagram accounts and have already found such wonderful pieces and brands I never would have discovered!
Lovely set up - pleased for your success and very inspirational. xxx
Did you do a home inspection before moving in? Not sure if that’s common where you are or not, but they’re so helpful!
Happy you let Charlie talk and get his thoughts and ideas out fully in this video!
What a lovely couple you are, good luck to you both and stay safe xx
Really enjoyed this video! I discovered your channel when you started the moving vlogs and you have been a firm favourite of mine ever since! 🧡
