In the game, he is not testing patients. In the original manual it says that an experiment has gone wrong and viruses are spreading rapidly and says nothing about testing a paint. It also says that the pills were prepared for a situation like that. And before you say Mario is a bad doctor because he let the experiment go wrong, it was nurse toadstool who told Dr. Mario about it so it could not possibly be him. You can check the manual if you what. Like if you agree.

I have a plot idea for Dr. Mario:
One day, in the Mushroom Kingdom Hospital, they have a really sick toad. While trying to cure him, an outbreak occurs!
The Mushroom Kingdom catches a Flu Spread! Eventually, the viruses raid the Pharmacy of all it's pills and medicine.
When Peach and the health center find out about this, they find Mario as he's their top hero. They take him through the
basics of being a doctor and the journey begins!
