Just watched this one dont know how you kept going so Proud you Our Joe
Lots of hard work.. glad to see Dani back with you. I miss her.
Maattteeee! You are a selfless legend. Need to look after you though. It’s got to be tough managing the day to day whilst also running RUclips.
Part of me thinks, while still wet, instead of taking the bulk of the weed and crud with a scraper, you could have saved time and just used the pressure washer straight away?
No matter, looks like all your hard work will be paid off.
Lovely to see Dani
Awesome such a big job wow..great job guys .. cheers Chris & Sammy
That was the smoothest DIY blacking job I’ve seen! And the coolest way to get the boat out of the water! At least it seemed to stay level at all times! Well done crew.
Is it not a problem that there’s a section of the base plate that missed reblacking as it’s covered by the beams supporting the boat?
I always watch your videos but on my TV so I never get to comment, I've just been crying of laughter at Joe cutting his own hair 😂 when he grabs a chunk of his hair to cut and the scissors are so blunt the hair was bending! Honestly love your videos!! ❤
You both worked so hard and with such team work it's was really easy to watch. I was dreading watching cos everyone else was so disorganised (not judging, I'd be exactly the same) well done! TRULY
Good to see you Danni and well done both with the blacking luv from the oldies 👍👍🤗🤗
Well done guys! Defo worth the effort, she looks great now. '3 coats Joe' 😅
Well done guys 😊❤ that did not look like easy work bless ya both. Glad to see ya vids back 😊👍
Bless you both for all your hard work getting Lady Pennybum blacked and adding new anodes. So great to have you both back together again. How cute was your site inspector 🐶 I can see that at some point you will have your own fur baby 🤗🤗
Penny looking better after jet wash.
Job really well done. Good to see Danni back. X
Well done guys!! 👏🏻 that’s some good graft! 😮💨 she’s looking great
Great to see you both. You both worked sooo hard blacking the boat. Looks really good. Now rest and enjoy your adventures. Xx
Well done you two. Great job 🎉🎉🎉
Always an epic undertaking, well worth doing the baseplate Danni 👍and nice face washing technique there Joe.😊
Is it just me or does the bow of LPB look like the Titanic when she’s out of water. #majestic
Great vlog. As always u make it look so easy or straight forward bless u. Job well done indeed. Best wishes 🎉
Commendable if I was closer I would have given you a hand but Tenerife is a long way sorry great work well done and hope you recover soon from the hard task.
New sub, i came across your channel because it came up in my recommendations after looking at narrow boats to buy, im thinking about getting one. I've binge watched alot of your videos, and its alot more work than i initially thought. Fair play to you both, you have both worked extremely hard.
That was an epic job! Well done to you both. The boat is looking beautiful and it will be well protected for another 3 years. I need to do mine next year and I think I will go the DIY route. As Joe said, it's a right of passage.
Amazing to see you both back together and see all the ❤ between yourselves.
You definitely work better when you’re together.
At least you doing yourselves, you can be confident it has been done properly if not professionally 😂😂.
Great vlog again guys thank you ❤❤
Great ...hard working there..
Well done good job
Wow. Hard work for you both, but it looks so good now. Well done!
I would have thought the boat was more important than seeing a baby.😂
Well done. That was a big job to tackle.
Now, when you removed all that weed and algae on the bottom, I guess you will reach 4,5 mph at the same rev that you before used for 4 mph? 😇☺
Good work guys, underside of the boat and lower hull look in very good condition. Blacking is a real pain to prepare for and to apply but at least your work area was first class never seen a narrowboat raised onto stands like this, a definite back saver. Would you do this yourself again when the time comes?.
Very good job you both have done and good work done by your friend 👍👍👍👍👍
Great job guys.
Excellent blog and Congratulations 🎉on all your hard work 😓 😴👏👏
Nice job
Good and hard work, well done 👍
Hi Joe and Danni, you should get a brush for your angle grinder instead of your drill it is a lot safer and you can put some good pressure on it , keep up the good work. The boat is looking good. Cliff from Australia
They didn't have a turbo nozzle for the pressure washer? Oh. I should have waited. There's the turbo.
Doing it yersen, Chapeau🤗
Hi Joe, Danni
You guys did sooo well considering it was your first attempt and how quickly you got it done. Many boat owners do say that they would never do the blacking by themselves, second time around, due to the amount of work involved.
Joe if you guys were to buy another boat would you go for a larger one when considering the internal space?
Did you install the magnesium anodes or some other type?
Next time, if you were to have someone do the work, would you go for the 2 pack blacking even though it costs more?
Regards,
Mark

thanks guys the effort was apparent, take a break have a beer and chill after that slog
Hi when you welded on the sacrificial nodes how do you know inside your boat not going to set on fire ?
I’m in the flats just by that canal society.. welcome to Aylesbury😊
That boat has a builders bum 😂
good vid on get the boat black four you cranking it on cut keep up the good vids thanks lee
It makes me tired just watching you two ! That was an epic but somehow seemed smoother than wben you painted the upper outside a while ago.
The 3 months in Jersey must be coming up soon - maybe they will ask Danni to stay on ?
fair play doing it your self hard work
Well done you have worked so hard……..
Oh im so glad you explained that wile you were showing us what and how it happends, was it cheaper to do the work yourself then it would be if the lads who own the unit
oh my you must be done for thats hard work but fair play to ya both
Hi Joe.. love the channel.. any chance you could provide the details of the location and name of yard you used and maybe fees and costs… Or just happy to hit them up for details.. Cheers
I would have thought the pressure washer would have removed all that weed?
What about testing how thick the sides are
Hi Joe, how long is your boat and how many tins of blacking did you use?
Hey…Really found this helpful as I’m helping to black ours next month. A messing job but happy to get my hands dirty! Were tou allowed to stay on the boat while on there?
A job well done!
What a messy job that is but once it’s done you won’t have to do it for another 3 yrs .
Just a quick question Joe have you put the engine in that those lovely couple gave you .
Good to see Dani back also .
Is it expensive to use the dry dock and do they supply the heavy tools (jet wash etc) to do the work ?
How do you black the bits where the boat was resting on cross members?
Did you think of wire brushing the prop and any sharp bits off the edges?.
Where did you buy the anodes and blacking from? I'm in Aylesbury Canal Society blacking next year
👍
is there any reason for using one of them mini rollers not a 9 inch one?
Hi can tell me do you take patron on your boat for weekend stay as my husband love give your boat drive
Xx
:)
Love you guys but I'd fuzz out that logo on her t-shirt. I wouldn't want to attract the agro.
Wear it with pride. It’s a free country.
