About the guy who Scanlan flirted with in season 1 and appears again as a spectator in Grog's dream: He's the animated version of Phil Bourassa. He's the guy who does the final designs of all the main characters. He's a very well known artist who works on DC cartoons a lot. Like on Young Justice.

Intense episode. The ballad between Scanlan and Osysa is really quite beautiful. There was a line you cut about the staring at the hourglass that was a little reference to a timed challenge in the corresponding campaign episode.

      What was the challenge?

    • @hhylobates4098
      @hhylobates4098 3 месяца назад

@@AstroReacts1 There were a number of puzzles and riddles to work through to obtain the sphinxs knowledge; the one with a 5 minute timer was a room that begun to fill with sand when they successfully solved the puzzle and they had to get everyone to the hole in the ceiling.
The main challenge was still against the sphinx himself, but they had to figure out his name through clues in the lair, while being hassled by magical effects and psy spiders

@@AstroReacts1 The episode is 49 "A Named is Earned", you can skip to the midway point after the break when they first enter the Sphinxs mountain, before all the puzzles

The “70 Death Gorgons” thing was likely meant to be a very inside D&D joke. Because “Gorgons” in D&D have been confusing new players for decades.
In classical Greek Mythology, the Gorgons were three sisters, humanoid above the waist, but snake-like below the waist, with snake tendrils for hair. If you looked at one, she would turn you to stone. The most famous of the sisters was named Medusa, and you’ve probably heard of her, or seen a depiction of her in movies or video games.
In Lybian mythology however, the Gorgon takes the form of a bull-like creature whosepowerful breath can turn you to stone. This is a less-known mythology than the Greek version in the mainstream media world, but also quite old.
The man who invented D&D, Gary Gygax, combined the petrifying bull description of the mythological monster with the metallic bull from the classic tale Jason of the Argonauts to create his version of the Gorgon in the first edition of D&D. And it’s caused interesting monster conversations around tables ever since.
Regardless of which version the Vox Machina crew could have faced, having to fight 70 of them would have been nasty.

    Hi again,
An ancient dragon does have better stats than a sphinx.
I am so glad that you are still enjoying this as much as I did. You spoke of other reactors. My three fav are pReview’d, #StruggleNation and Omn1Media
They are all fun and funny. Just like you.
You are one of the only reactors I have seen to highlight the fact that Kami let the sword fall so he could save Scanlan. It is heartbreaking.
I am sure someone else has mentioned this but all the episodes were released in three episode blocks. That is why you are finding a cliffhanger like ending every third episode. You might want to do just two or do four per recording session to avoid it. There are only six eps left though so doing it by three and three makes the most sense. Sorry. You are experiencing it like we did. The next three eps are great though.
I will be looking forward to your next reaction. Thanks for reacting and editing and all that for us. We appreciate it.

It wouldn't be the first time an evil sword owned by Travis's character was thrown into lava

Nobody feels ok after Pike gets stabbed. Almost all of what happened in this episode was original to the show and didn't happen in the game... EXCEPT Grog accidentally stabbing Pike.

That's why you can't just drop a sentient sword -- it will try to take over. I may have said this before -- in the game, Grog's Intelligence is 6 (out of 20) but his Wisdom is 10...he's not weak-minded, just uneducated. Still, a sword like that, you need some serious willpower (very high roll on the dice) to resist it if it tries to take over.
Umbrasyl was just toying with Grog; he didn't even use his acid breath. Grog would have died if they'd let them fight.

I don’t think he would win but he did do the most damage I’ve seen
