I just hate they've done this. Call quality with Jabra has always been amazing. Now i have to look for a 2nd best call quality..
That really bums me out. I've been a Jabra fan since my first pair of earbuds. Thanks for covering this.
No problem :)
We need a video hilightimg the best alternatives for Jabra fabs. AKA the next best company that doesn't do anything the best, but has a great all around earbud.
Jabra was one of the brands where they had a product for every price bracket. But what affected them negatively is there were too many models like the active. Hopefully they'll see some profits and get back on track because this is really sad
The Elite products were great when they worked, but I bought 3 of them, all 3 stopped working, they didn't want to support them because they were imports, so I stopped buying from them.
That's super unlucky dude. I've had my elite 75t for 3.5 years and still going strong
Oh man I was really looking to import one of the Elite 10 gen2s. Idk if I want to do it anymore because if they wouldn't support imports then 280$ would be wasted
Sigh, bought Jabra elite 8 and 10 for Black Friday, the best earbuds I’ve even owned, and the best fit no doubt. I dunno if anyone else is worthy to wear their crown. Nothing else feels like them. It would be like Porsche leaving the sports car market, nothing would be the same afterwards.
While I think all their recent buds were still great in terms of functionality, for me buying Jabra buds ended with the 75t for the sound. I didn't like the sound of any successor after the 75t, it just couldn't keep up and I had zero reason to replace them with other Jabras, so I ended up with other brands to get good anc AND punching sound.
Yeah sad times for sure, I feel like they came out with too many products in the elite series
They were launching products very frequently for a while :/
I had all the same feelings and emotional roller coaster. Really want them to atleast retain their top Elite line and as you mentioned I was introduced through work only and my main use case was work.😢
This happened to me years ago with Jabra. I had a phone bud that had awesome ANC and call clarity. Night and day to anything else at the time. Out of the blue they just quit offering support of any kind. Not going to make that same mistake twice. Thanks for the heads-up!
Thanks for the important info. I wanted to buy the Elite 10 Gen 2, but I wanted to wait for your test. But now I prefer to wait for other devices. Jabra is out with that, unfortunately. I am still very satisfied with my Jabra T85.
Well, Im going to wait your review about the second gen. Im really considering to buy one of those.
I just bought 4 active. Price and quality sweet spot.
Well that sucks 😢 i went from the Jaybird earphones to Jabra because where i am they stopped selling Jaybird products
I used the 85t from Jabra for the last 3 years and just got the Elite 10 and besides the ANC they're great
I was actually contemplating on buying a pair of elite earbuds after my xm4’s starting giving me problem .. just as a back up to use in bed since elite4 is only $74-78
Those are good earbuds actually. GN says will continue to support the products for a few more years. I’m expecting warranty support at least.
Will there be others to follow.? The amount & quick releases for example like soundpeats & soundcore. Thank you for update!
No problem :) Not sure. The chinese brands have state subsidies though, and cheap locally-sourced manufacturers. They have more financial stamina.
I have jabra 10, gen 1. I like them. I very curios to see, how the samsung buds 3 pro will be. I will switch probably to samsung or denon perl pro. Anyway 2 years, at least will be ok, but no high res codecs.
I previously owned the 65T and 75T when Jabra was at the frontier of TWS during that era. Since then the later generations have been showing progressive improvements in call quality, ANC, and hifi audio, perhaps at a slower pace compared to the peers. The market profits have a near M-shaped distribution with the top end (USD 300+) dominated by players like Sony and Bose etc. while the lower/mid low end (USD 100) shared by highly cost effective brands like EarFun, Soundcore etc... The Jabra range being perceived as mid tier (USD 100 - 300) seems not able to climb to the top nor being competitive at the low end and therefore continue to be struggling going forward. For instance, it is unlikely to beat Sony and Bose (who have long proven records in hifi audio area)via double or triple R&D investment. It is not happy ending, though the decision made seems to be rational in the business world.
Make video of Jabra elite 10 gen 2.
No way. I just bought the Jabra Elite 10 after returning the Sony wf-1000xm5. Way better product, and was looking to return the elite 10 for getting the elite 10 2.0. I thought I've finally found a brand to stick to for the next years, they are so good! :((
This is ridiculous. Most people I know that wanted good earbuds went to Jabra, they definitely are ones of the best and people know it so I can't believe it wasn't profitable for them. I don't understand this at all.
Still waiting for that video of the gen 2🙏. Btw, have a question. I'm interested in Jabra but also the Nothing ears. So.. when you can, can you give me your comparison on them? (An opinion might help🤷♂️)
Just get the Nothing buds. They are way more comfortable and also more feature rich, in my opinion.
@ZotmundSzele not sure🤷♂️, many says the comfort on the jabras are also amazing.
Nothing earbuds don't stay in my ears but the Jabra Elite 10s fit amazingly so comfort is always subjective. What works for me may not work for you.
I'm wondering if it's worth getting the Elite 8 Gen 2 if it's not something they will be updating for more than a couple of years. I have the 75t now.
In terms of ANC which earbuds are better the jlab epic lab edition or the Sony LinkBuds s? Also when will we get the review for the JBL live beam 3😅
Jabra is the only brand that stand tall in sound quality with only SBC/AAC codec. My 3.5 yr old Active 75T still going strong. Recently got the 10. Hope both last
Business gotta do what business gotta do. Hopefully those people laid off will be sorted out
That’s sad news. Jabra produces good wireless earbuds. My first TWS was elite 65T, then upgraded to elite 75T. While I’ve since changed to Sony wf1000 XM4 and now AirPods Pro 2, I’ve bought elite 5 and 7 Pro for my wife and she’s been using them daily happily. If her Jabra come to end of life, may have to get my wife an AirPod as replacement. I think Jabra current lineup has too many versions and there’s not much difference between each increment model. They should probably just have 3 tiers - budget, mid and top of the line. Right now the line up can be confusing and price differences are quite close. Hope the company bounces back and continue to make products
No wonder why JB Hifi were discounting the elite 4s by 50% recently!
Also, announcing that you are quitting tws earbuds just after you announced your latest ones is one of the worst business tactics you can ever do. Its called the Osborne effect. Nokia had the same fate when it prematurely called symbian phones obsolete in 2011
Maybe someone buys the blueprints to Jabra tws and continues to make them?
Never heard of a company that launches a product then quits the market almost immediately. Shame.
Never had a Jabra product, was going to buy the elite 10 cause of all the reviews but now im conflicted on getting gen 2 or go with the gen 1. Mainly just waiting on your reviews to see if the sound quality is better or worse then gen 1. I'm assuming the buds themselves are the same size and shape.
Hi Aaron, I hear you. End of an era to be sure. However, from a business standpoint, with the market flooded with wireless earbuds from a vast array of manufacturers these days all competing for the same space at extremely competitive prices, how does one keep the profit margin feasible? R&D costs alone to create an incremental improvement in an earbud must be huge. In order to make it a viable cost or R&D investment, a business must be able to sell huge volumes of the product otherwise its just a waste of resources. Just my two cents. J
They’ve had moderate success early on with 65T and 75T and for good reason, but something happened behind the scenes that led to new products being less attractive. Bigger case, less bass, poorer mics, and poor noise canceling. No amount of marketing dollars could have saved that. It was only with the current 10 and 8 Active when things got much better. Too bad they didnt have the financial stamina to stick it out.
Worst news ever for a Jabra loyalist (me)
Damn it I just bought the Elite 10 a few minutes ago literally.
No, don't take my buttons away 😭
I really enjoy my 75t. Very sad they are quitting.
Pity
Actually you talk about enterprise space, In my Big corporate company if i need work from home head sets , web cams or conference microphones i have to order it through a portal and they offer a lot of Jabra products , now i get to see the prices that my business unit is charged when i order these and it is much higher than what you and i pay for them at retail. This means the margins must be a lot higher in the enterprise space because "big companies" don't "shop around" like private shoppers do. Now the prices for basic headsets are in the range of high end premium Bose products without the Same level of quality. Its no surprise they are getting out of the retail space because retail is generally a race to the bottom in thier market segment. They will never be able to command a premium price tag like Sony, Apple, Bose, Sonos. They are competing with Anker, AliExpress, Temu which cannot be profitable.
I'm really sad to hear this. Jabra has always been great and one of the first to offer small earbuds with low profile that were also comfortable to wear. Physical buttons that I really like in a world of touch buttons, it's really a pity
I am a Sony fan and I tried the xm5 because my elite 85t failed. I was so disappointed with the Sony... The bass and the ANC were so poor! I returned them a.nd bought the elite 10 from Jabra e they are so good, a better sound than Sony and so comfortable! I would pay 500€ for this! Just waiting for your review on gen2 to buy them. It can be better? Please don't die Jabra, you have done an excellent job with this earphones!
Nooooooo , i use Jabra since 65T ' to 75T and finally Elite 10. Very sad.
Hopefully there would be -50% discounts
My new elite 5s weren't bad but the case was garbage and they definitely didn't offer any support...
Are there going to be 2 or 3 companies left on the market soon ? :(
Nobody else has announced yet. We’ll see
I don't like this - the Elites have always been my goto headphones ---- what next's the Evolve lineup will be discontinued...
👍
What?!!!! Is it a joke?
It is sad but most of the american companies lost their confidence after carona poor sales americas is desperate frb interest rates growing tensions around world russia Ukraine war , israeil palatine war, movies downfall 😢
Jabra elite 7 pros are trash for phone calls. Jabra knows about the issue and ignored everyone and move on to new earbuds. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Jabra reliability is garbage. I tried to get a replacement for my elite 7 pros after 2 months of owning and they said they can't help me because they were manufactured in 2021. How was I supposed to know they were made then during the purchase. Jabra is a trash company that does not back up their product.
To much competition that offer decent quality for way less. 90% of people buying ear buds do not care about specs.
