More Quest Updates, Sony Pauses PSVR2, Flat Games In VR & Tons More!

- In this video full of AR & VR news we will begin by talking about even more quest updates coming to our devices. First of all, we are getting extensions inside the Quest browser, something, that if you ask me is essential to a lot of users being able to use the device for browsing and productivity. We are also getting an update to the SSW feature inside Virtual Desktop, so if you play wireless PCVR on your Quest you should now have a smoother gameplay experience. Flat2VR Is now going to be making licensed ports of some of people's favourite Flatscreen titles and bringing them into VR. Sony is reportedly pausing PSVR2 production until the backlog is sold, the Alien VR game that was talked about a while ago is apparently still in development, there's a sequel to Myst coming into VR as well as Nvidia showcasing digital twins of real-life objects in Virtual reality. Finally, there's a Tomb Raider port out from Team Beef on their Patreon that you can play in VR! I hope you enjoy the video :D

I hope the Flat2VR team will manage to change the view most of the big games companies have about the VR space.
Probably not. Making a vr game is a lot of extra work. Lot of extra money for minimal extra income.
@nagyFerko If you have actually been paying attention the virtual reality world you would know that NONE of those are reasons why they have issues developing vr games. Ceos have literally said they refuse to make games because VR is meant to be short term experiences and not full fledged 90hour game play games. They don't want a bunch of real life obese lazy humans like in Wall-E

Clive Barker's Undying would be a Dream for me in Vr . It s a game with great atmosphere and a really good story and a lot of different enemies. And each one has a different finish if he kills U. U get 1 hand for weapons and one for magic. Perfekt for VR

I think it’s also because it’s not PCVR compatible. When the PSVR2 was announced, people got excited about cheap foveated rendering and haptic feedback triggers aaaand then saw it wasn’t for pc :)

Extention support for the browser is actually huge. MR in the Quest depends completely on the browser being fully featured.
About holding something on your hand, i cant remember the brand, but on one website with laptops you could place device in AR and estimate how it would look. If that adapted to TVs or furniture in VR that would be awesome!
I love to use the SSW feature to ease the work on my computer, but also get a bit of rainbow color snow/static on top of the "before" effect, so it became unusable when i found it was cause. Hope the update fixes this too!

I’ve been waiting on extension support on the Quest browser since I got my headset. I know I can sideload Firefox but the official browser just works a lot better. It’s also Chromium based so it could just install from the Chrome web store.
So, according to IVRy, the PSVR will need an adapter to connect to PC effectively. Maybe Sony is letting the current stock sell out so they can begin to ship a new package with the PC adapter. They would also need to update the info on the box to promote the PC compatability.
on my quest 2, i can now run sideloaded android apps in the background, and they show up as recently used apps on the universal menu. this might be a bug, because i haven't heard about it anywhere, and it seems to only have happened since the meta servers issue (and modded beat saber no longer asks to restore)
i have that aswell (modded / sideloaded apps show as a normal app)

Xreal has just released the air 2 ULTRA. xr glasses with 6dof, hand tracking and a depth sensor. I would love it, if you could do a review.

I really didn't get the part about the SSW Update :/ You used some terms I never heard about and I have to look them up. Maybe you could show more examples of what changed?

I believe Sony is doing this as they want to introduce a v2 model like they did with the original psvr headset when the PS4 PRO came out and them getting rid of stock to allow a revamped headset maybe with colour pass through and hand tracking

iv had my quest 3 for 25 days and when the battery got low i plugged it in and it crashed and the fan stopped working now its fully off and doesnt charge or turn on waiting on meta to get back to me :(

how do yall not get micro scratches on your lenses? Q2 was fine, but my Q3 got 2 scratches upon first use of a brand new microfiber cloth (literally took out of package to then use) and it was so soft it didn't even get rid of dust, Then got scratch resistant lense protectors and left 1 has like 12 scratches, avg 1-2 every time i use a cloth and im using a new cloth everytime, lol.

There is only 2 titles that I would actually geek over when it comes to flatscreen to vr. Fallout 3/NV/TTW and Stalker OG series/2/Gamma/. That is all.

People say that vanilla Fallout 4 VR is unplayable so i guess they could hire Flat2VR team to do it right.
I am excited to hear Flat2VR is hitting it off so big. I cannot for the life of me "sell" VR headlooking (i.e. flat games that bind mouse looking to your headset movement) to even the friends that are into VR but I think ports with handtracking open up so many doors to people to get into VR and I'm glad life is being breathed into the effort.
My hope for a port is Fallout 5 and Elder Scrolls 6 if this team gets enough attention for what they're capable of- hopefully these games will support both VR and flat-screen in one.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sony cuts the price of the PSVR2. It'd certainly clear up the backlog of unsold units, that's for sure.

My question on the Tomb Raider. When you say original? Do you you mean the original CD disks? As I own those from when I bought Tomb Raider when it first came out in the 90's (Yes I know I'm old) or the PC port mods over the years? I've been a fan of Tomb Raider since I was a teen in high school in the 90's. Would hate to start to have to have to repurchasing the whole series again.

I think porting flat games into VR is verry difficult. Besides the technical challenges it seems really important to also adjust the ballancing of the game if you want to make people really play through it and not just to "see what's it like in 3D". To get a wider appeal it must seem like the game was always intendet to be played in VR. Before that I think most people won't pick it up.

I don't think so, you can check out the polish channel and let me know if you think it's American :) but I guess I've spoken both for my entire life. So that's probably why. English at school, work, with friends and Polish with family and friends :)
The question I have, is which “American” accent are you referring to? Midwestern, New England, Southern, Western, North Dakotan-Minnesotan?
To me it just sounds like very well spoken English, not “American/Canadian” or British.

Sony's headset also uses a wire and I doubt Sony would give people another console if it got dragged onto the floor by someone using the headset with it.

Sony is obviously doing PC support to bleed both component and finished inventory. Bet they're bailing.
Someone suspected the Liquid and Debris problem on Quest 3 is related to overclocking and power management. Let's see if that can get my quest back to working conditions

Possible, but most people with a gaming PC and a PS5 already own the headsets they want to use or don't care about VR. Having to run both PS5 and PC to play doesn't make sense. I like standalone to not run my PC with 500+ watts heating up my room and having to run additional 200+ watts for the PS5 would be ridiculous. I guess they offer an adapter to split the PSVR2 cable into USB and DP to run it natively on PC. Other than 1k+ headsets there are only last gen native PCVR headsets and Sony could fit into a gap as long there is no Valve 2 been seen.
