Does one get any benefits from the negative ions and IR emitted by the *mat* portion if you cover up the mat with a towel in order to make cleanup super easy? In other words, would a towel block negative ions? What about the IR waves?
Negative ions are so small they easily pass through most fabric materials which are highly porous by comparison so no worries there. The infrared rays also can easily travel through a towel...if you feel warmth...that means there are plenty of rays getting through. Visible light on the other hand like lets say Red light...that absolutely would be blocked by fabric.

I set mine to 70 (all 3 sections) The settings go as low as 25 and go as high as 90 on the dome. It goes as high as 80 on the mat.
Does this actually make you sweat? I don't sweat very easily, so I'm concerned that these don't get hot enough.
