Nike sb Shane o Neil in yellow, idk if they’re sold out not but I just love the Color. Also, I’ve been skating them 2 months with mob grip (and I do flip tricks) and they have no holes or even too much wear!
last resort ab is all i want to skate right now !! not that crazy about the new vm003 or vm002, love the vm001 mids 🤩 currently skating all black vans gilbert crockets while i wait for my shop to get more vm001 mids, when they do im stocking UP
When I was a kid there was huge pushback against Nike SB similar to how Cariuma is getting it today. Eventually they'll break thru and just be here. That said, my last pair was a sb dunk and this pair is a sb blazer 🤷🏻
I’m on my 3rd pair of és accel OGs and I’ll probably keep getting them now. I have wide feet and they fit that well, the sole is super hard wearing, they look sick with lots of colour ways (got the brown / gums rn), impact protection is excellent and with a footprint insole added they’re unreal! Embrace the chonk.
I don't have a favorite brand but I tend to lean towards impact over feel. Also never bought a shoe online so local shop or honestly. I've done some thrift shopping and gotten atleast 6 pairs of good and New skate shoes for maybe 10 bucks each. Can't pass up a good deal.
I really like when vans put their skateboarding classics on sale. I copped a pair of slip on and authentics for 40 each. Skated the slip on for a month and a half. I would say money well spent.
As a heavier rider and photographer I kinda like riding the es quattro's rn but usually any cupsole I'm willing to try. The vulc sneakers I see look alright but they usually either don't hold up or don't look as good
Because of the way I like to skate im usually not concerned with board feel and i skate mostly cup sole shoes and still add thicker insoles. Board feel dosn't seem to change much for however it does help to get steeper decks if you skate thick shoes
@@ZackDowdy If you heat the inside up with a hair dryer or leave them sitting on a radiator for a while glue softens and they come out pretty easily. I got some thin 5mm footprint kingfoams for them. They still have all the boardfeel but with a bit more impact protection and they’re petty much perfect. It feels like a lot of the impact protection is built into the sole so putting a popcush in there makes them feel mushy and a thinner insole works much better!
Fr lol bro brought out the most over used vans too, like vans could be considered at this industry. But they do first hand stuff for the community which I respect about vans.
My biggest issue is keeping board feel, but also not having a thin shoe where a heel flip rips right through. I love skating vans for the board feel, but backside 180’s and heel flips mess them up.
Don't have a current favorite shoe, and there are a bunch that I like. Switching up shoes and learning new tricks is what keeps skating the same parks/spots fun. Currently skating the Nike SB Force 58s, Lakai Telfords, Vans Half Cab 92's, and a few pairs of dunks. Most of the time I buy from my local shop, or another small shops online store. I'll even buy slightly used pairs on depop, ebay, mercari, etc. and sanitize them.
I try to support my local but a lot of the times they are out of size 10 in the shoes I want so I buy a lot online but from skate shops mostly. As a last resort I buy from tactics cause of the fast shipping and big selection
hell yea sick video dude! Make that knee slide vid! ive been running out on transition forever. I have a set of nice knee pads but its hard to make myself wear them and doing knee slides comfortably. As time goes on my ankles get taxed by running out and I want to skate bigger transition. I know I need to refine my knee slide game if I wanna skate bigger transition. So go for that knee slide vid! Keep killing it dude!
Love Last Resort, created by local skate legend (Malmö Sweden) Pontus Alv, also founder of Polar skateboards, great shoes and not manufactured in a sweat shop somewhere. I have a wide variety of them at my local shop so I buy em for sure.
Vans Slip On pros are kind of my go-to daily shoe and I like skating them too, even if my ankles can get smacked lol... otherwise Blazer Mids and Last Resorts are great. I always buy from my local skate shop when I can, otherwise I have bought on Paradeworld from shops
Was it the suede or canvas kind? Does it make a difference? I got the Last resort high 001 canvas kind on a bargain. The have an old converse look but feel nothing like it! Regards from a 42 year old rookie from Denmark Europe.
My problem is that i have very wide feet. So me being a 10.5 (10 In some brands) ends up with me having to order 11 or 11.5 size shoes. I rarely buy online unless i know what i'm getting, DC's work great for me, they're roomy yet compact. Sadly shoes are the only thing i have never bought from my local skate shop since theyve been openwd and closed so many times the past 2 years because of lockdown. Everytime i needed new shoes they were closed for some reason. However, they did start selling Last Resort AB shoes a while ago so i might have to check those out! Thanks for the rad video zach 👍
I highly recommend buying these shoes true to size, and putting a second very thin insole on top of the existing one. Personally I used an Es' insole, they are usually quite thin and shitty.
Depends on which eS skate shoe though. The eS Evants have a legit insole. No need to swap it out. Same thing goes for the Cykles. When it comes to the eS Accel Slim and eS Accel OG, yeah you might want to put a Footprint insole in them, preferably Kingfoam Elites.
No last resort shoes in a 9 to be found. The Lopez are good but ohhh not good for impact. I skate curbs and flat ground mostly and got teeny heel bruises
I never seen anyone try t funks dc shoes, I feel those shoes are quite balanced but it took a long ass time too break in but I loved them after. Not sure if they still selling them but if they are worth it if you like a Vulc that has some cushion
wow great vid and eprfect timing, i loved my last resorts all black mids! they lasted me ages but pontus has been pretty slow with new drop and i can't find my size anywhere, my shop carries the lopez mids and i was considering those!
Ok something about supporting core brands and skater own brand everybody supports them in their own way it does not mean you have to do it in every way if I like how a shoe skates I’m going to skate it regardless of what the brand does behind the scenes
Man iam old and as much as i love vulcs i just cant do it anymore . My.old body cant handle it .....plus i grew up.skating all.cupsoles in the 90s . Byt my.fav shoes are vans ( kind of ironic as they are mistly about baordfell ) but to skate i usually rock soletech still . Also ive been liking to vans wafflecup a bit lately and tried skating a few bmx.vans . But i fond.the toebox really.stiff on them ....maybe theu will break in
On the birkenstocks, I highly disagree. Minimalist shoes with LESS arch support are better for you. When I'm not skating, I wear Xero shoes. They're nice for just pushing around on a skateboard but I wouldn't do any tricks with them. I mostly use mine for Parkour, driving, running, or other workouts. There are lots of great videos on why minimal shoes are better for your feet.
What are your favorite skate shoes, and be honest do you buy them at a skate shop or online?

Also I got them online :( sorry but I take lessons at my local skate shop cuz they have a mini ramp so I do support them
@@alexulinich That's dope! Totally understand, that's rad you have a product you like while supporting the local skaters.
Emerica. The only bad thing is that at this moment, none of my shops sells Emerica, so I need to buy them online.

no you obviously don’t understand why there a push back to cariuma

I've got 3 pairs of them lol. Once I found out they re-released them, that's what I switched to.
Plus you can find em on sale cheaper than a pair of vans old skools

Last week I picked up my first pair of Last Resorts from my local shop. Super stoked to try them out!
i watch so many youtuber/skaters and i just want to leave a comment to appreciate the unrivaled quality of your videos. Thank you
Man every time I have a new skateboarding question I find that you have a video for it.
Love your channel.
I actually really agree with your assessment/ grading of the shoe. durability, impact, board feel, aesthetics. brilliantly done.

Love the last resorts I’ve had two pairs as well but wish the insoles were a little better. It’s hard to beat vans pop cush
Solid point, I haven't tried taking out the insoles to replace them, that seems to be a little tough.
@@ZackDowdy haha yeah man they glue them in! Kinda sucks

Its painful hearing this guy talk bout Nike, yet then holds up a Converse and is like "I wanted to support Louie"

Isn’t Converse owned and made by Nike?
Yes
Remember to always carry spare rainbow afro wigs and red noses for every hipster telling you that Converse is better than Nike.

Thanks man for the good opinions/suggestions
I know vans might not be ur preferred shoe but I think you should try some Kyle walker pros or chima pros
How do you feel about FP shoe insoles
I have SUPER WIDE feet so I have to get size 11-14 which local skate shops don’t usually stock. So I get Nike SBs

Vans Jeff Grosso model are my all time favorites. Grosso forever!
