I understand i shifted here 2 years ago to pursue my higher education and my father is a tamilan and I grew up in Mumbai and i didn't know how to speak tamil and whatever I used to say somehow turned into a bad word or made no sense , they couldn't understand my tamil as it was so broken . Thankfully my friends helped me and i could learn more about my mother tongue . Tamil is a beautiful language.
@@aryak29 exactly! It is a beautiful language indeed. I suspect it has stood the test of time and a modern Tamilian could probably speak with an ancient Tamilian. English is not like this at all, go back a few hundred years and the pronunciation is hardly recognizable, go back further into olde English and it might as well be latin. Interestingly though the regional dialect I grew up with in the USA is more closely related to old English than UK English is today. Cheers

They both have many common words. I am also a Telugu and can speak fluent Tamil,kannada There are crores of south indians dravidians who speak all the 4 Dravidian languages fluently Tamil Telugu Kannada Malayalam,they are multi-lingual.
