Nice to see reality of boat ownership. Never hide that, it just makes us know the reality of owning a boat lol. I just de-oxidized my boat, polished it and buffed it. I’m going to re gel coat mine also.
... I just had to re gel coat our keel from our beach landing to let the puppies run around. I really need to invest in a keel guard. If i do I’ll try and record that install too.
How do you clean out that pump after a day of using it in the salt water? Have the same boat and have always wondered how I could clean the pump of salt water. The live well is drained by gravity so don’t know how to get fresh water into the pump
… you don’t have too, it’s designed for salt water use, if you really wanted too though all you have to do it turn on the pump and hold a hose over the intake under the boat. Not necessary though.
Ever had an issue with bilge pump on R200? mine works with manual switch on console ?. and when that is on and i lift the float i can hear the difference. however with battery switch off and manual switch off float does nothing... thinking it should be direct wired to battery so float works it automatically. cant find any fuses either
Legally it is required to be wired directly to the battery. I would get in touch with your dealer ASAP. Our did have an issue, it would run none stop , float up or down and had it replaced. Haven’t had an issue since.
... it’s really handy when blood or slimmers get on deck. Especially don’t want the puppies licking any of that mess and makes clean up a little quicker when we get out of the water.
... yes, just screwed it to the wall and drilled a hole between the live well and seat to run the air line through so I can throw a air stone in a bucket if need be. The wire are just banana clips to the battery, one day I’ll probably hard wire it and put a switch on it.
... there is really no way to flush it out as is, you would have to add another T by the intake with a valve and hose bib connection. Mine would have probably lasted much longer if I cleaned out the strainer a little more often. We use ours quite often without any fresh water rinse. I wouldn’t worry about it, go catch some fish 😁👍
I have a new Robalo R200 being delivered in the next couple of months. I was a little disappointed to see that pump go already with your boat being a couple of years old, but with yours having almost 400 hours of salt water, that's to be expected. Salt vs fish good, boats :( I was in conversation with you before about the hydraulic door strut you added to your helm/head door. I will surely be adding one to mine as soon as I have the boat in possession. Are you still happy with that choice of strut or would you do something different? Love your videos! Bob Y from Harpswell Maine
... yeah we have our boat in the Salt every week, sometimes twice a week, so it’s taken a salt beating over the last two years. I really should have been checking my strain basket more often, it was pretty full of gunk which my light of help lead to the premature failure. As far as the strut goes, it’s still working great and has prevented it from slamming shut and us loosing a finger or two. I don’t know why it isn’t standard. Over all we are still really happy with our choice of boat. We have gotten rid of all the cushions up front, we don’t use it for leisure at all, just strictly fishing. The cushions have got a little moldy and won’t come clean so that’s really the only negative we can really say.
@@SaltyStrikes when we took off to hit provisions it started working again but now will not drain. I will take it apart and check. Thank you for the support.
Great video... i too was a bit worried and then saw the #hrs. Guess I am on your trajectory. 2020 R200 and put 101 hrs on it between June and now. Been watching your fishing vids for a while now, just realized last week that I actually stumbled on your vid on R200 enhancements in 2019 when researching whether to buy an R200 or not ha. ... yeah I guess I’ll have to give her a bolo will call and find out where my commission check is 😂😂😂, yeah we’ve got a lot of miles on her in the summer we take her out sometimes twice a weekend but usually least every week. Did you put a trolling motor on it?
@@SaltyStrikes no did not put a TM on. I use it more for diving and offshore wreck fishing and trolling. Plus with little kiddos it takes space away, but i am envious of those that do. We run ours about every weekend as well. If ever up on the Ches Bay let me know.

I was told by the guy at West Marine that replacement parts (Diaphram etc.) are available for these pumps. Nice video.
… thanks, good to know 👍
Thanks , I have the same deal on my boat. I'm going with literally the same thing except with a jabsco.
Awesome post! Question - it didn't look like you fully melted the solder in the butt connectors. was that just camera angle?
Thanks for the video. I gotta change out my pump also. I think i can do it now. 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤘🏽

Nice man. What's with the bubbler box next to the pump?
I have a line run out with a stone Incase I have bait that doesn’t like one another I can keep a separate bucket going.

does this size pump drain your battery much if the motor is off ?

are you running a singles 1 or 2 house battery ?

I replaced the pump it sounds working but washdown and livewell no water pullrd up. any idea Why?

I’ve been wanting to install a wash down pump. Should be easy since I already have the through hull pump.
