I’m so in awe of your precision! This was so worth watching if only for the gathering technique and explanation of the thread loops thank you!

Brilliant sew a long. Love the gathering tip using cord. Could I ask, is the cord sewn in at the seam allowance?

Loved this sew along and I followed it to the last letter however I am having a problem with the collar. I followed all the instructions but I was confused when it came to attaching the collar to the bodice . I pinned and sewed the interfaced piece to the bodice but that meant that what I thought was the under collar ended up on top . Please advise I’m so confused and frustrated, I must be missing something. X

I’ve just done exactly the same!! 🤦‍♀️ Think I’m going to have to attach the non interfaced piece and hand stitch the interfaced piece! Is this what you did? Can’t face cutting out a new collar and re sewing it!

@@juliephillips3864 yep I came to this tutorial for the same reason. In the written instructions in the pattern, it is very unclear, saying to "Pin the top edge of the (uninterfaced)
inner collar stand to the unstitched edge
of the outer collar" - but this is the first time there has ever been mention of an "outer" collar. Previously they were referred to as "top" and "under" collar pieces. So I was confused and looked for a sewalong. Clearly Jo was also confused by this and did it incorrectly. Following the steps in this video you'll end up with the bias cut collar piece facing out instead of your top collar piece.

Do you have similar tutorials for Martha pattern?

Hi, we don't have a sewalong for the Martha Dress yet, but we can certainly add it to the list for a future video!

I followed it exactly too and found the same issue with the collar. I’ve rewatched the video and I can’t work out where we went wrong?

I did the same thing and couldn’t work out where I went wrong . So I watched a video on making a Pattern Emporium shirt by Karina from Lifting pins and needles. This video is incorrect. When you sew the collar to the collar stands it shows attaching the interfaced upper collar to the interfaced under collar and that is wrong. It should be the interfaced upper collar to the uninterfaced under collar. That’s why our undercollars ended up on top.

Warning to anyone here for the collar construction: following this method will end up with your bias-cut under-collar facing out instead of your straight top collar piece!
