It’s lovely to see you happily wearing your Lyra. I’ve also been having to adjust bust darts lately. Am getting quite good at it now, lol. Love the fruity poplin. Am sure that will look fab made up. Thank you for your video, enjoying your fabrics and plans..

Good to hear what you've been getting up to. Today I noticed the same, no short sleeved t-shirts!! I wanted to wear one for my covid jab lol, so had to find a stretchy 3/4 length one! Lovely fabric choices and I'm loving the sewing bee too..it's not too crazy this year...more realistic sewing I think xx

Love your Lyra animal print dress - and I would have gone looking for that last little bit for the tie too. Also looking forward to your future makes for the new fabrics.
I live in the US and we just can't understand why Netflix or BritBox or our local PBS stations aren't picking up carrying the Sewing Bee. It is the most lovely, lovely, upbeat and interesting show that I have seen for a long time with genuinely nice people on it. How did I know about the Sewing Bee in the first place and see it? I binge watched the first 5 seasons on what I guess was bootlegged copies on You Tube in 2019 before the producers caught on and got them all removed. So now I am truly hoping one of the big players will pick up the shows. But keep on talking about what you saw and heard and were impressed by. I'll live vicariously through you! :-)

Thank you for such a lovely, happy video. The dress looks stunning. So lovely that you have the confidence and good grace to share your sewing journey with us, even the mistakes! It really helps less confident sewists to see that mistakes can happen to anyone and can usually be rectified. Looking forward to seeing what you make with your new fabrics. 💞

Tamlyn I loved this video and thank you for sharing your week with us. Your Tilly and the Buttons Lyra Dress looks wonderful on you and the colors really compliment your skin tones, and the jungle animal prints are something that Taylor can look at when you are holding him to keep him occupied. Like so many in the sewing world we all make mistakes -- last week alone I threw away (2) blouses in the trash that just didn't work out, I made twirls of them, and they fit fine, but when I sewed up on the fashion fabric - boy did they not fit, they looked liked rags! It was so disappointing, we are all learning each time we decide to sew something and we make mistakes but we have to keep up with the challenges to becomes better seamstresses. By the way in your intro you show spools of thread with ribbons on them - could you tell me if you made then or did you purchase from a vendor - as I have been looking for them and can not find the on Ebay or Esty. Thank you again for videos, keep up the good work, your suggestions for the Haley Jane boxes for April fat quarters project was great. Take care, be safe and have a good day.

Ahhh they are my lovely pattern weights, they’re from a business called Foxglove & Field 😊
So sorry to hear that your blouses didn’t work out. Definitely good to see it all as a learning process though.
Thank you for your lovely comments xx

How much ease is in this dress? According to my size I’ll have 7 inches of ease around the bust. I feel this is a bit excessive and I could go for a smaller size. Did you find the dress came out true to size?
