Watching the documentary puts into perspective how far all of them have come. Over half of them struggled and were near the bottom rank of trainees, struggling with dance or singing or both. May 2024 bring them even more success

Harvey was a revelation for me in this recording, the way she drops an octave for the last syllable of her first rap sections last 3 lines is so warm, and her back-up vocals after the 2nd chorus are just heavenly. This was so so so special... 🥹💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Juria starts by hypnotizing you then Chisa punches you in the face. Followed up by Hinata with an upper cut. The vocal 3pc puts you on the floor.
I don't know how but Harvey is always on time. She just fits right in. The way she can manipulate her voice is unexpected.
Jurin's flow is exquisite on this. Perfect timing and her voice makes it hit so much more.
There's nothing left to say about Coco. The voice. The flow. And even with this shorter feature, she delivered it with so much sauce. She feels it.
Maya, Maya, Maya. I've been screaming Maya back to Tippy Toes. I'm so glad she's getting some recognition. It seemed like, even though she was bringing heat with her bars, she was off a lot of people's radar.

I love the way you described the vocal line 😂 it really does hit you like that! Harvey is a unique artist, the way she alternated between high and low brings a nice melody to her flow that fits really well. Plus she did a very clean ad-libs for herself!
Coco also brought a melodic aspect to her flow which was different for her, nice to hear and fits the song better than her normal flow.
Jurin's flow and delivery was just a flawless callback to the kind of rapping you'd hear on this kind of song in the 90s or something.
They all did something different and yet they all fit together so well. Unbelievable song composition.

I went into this fully expecting the main vocalists to really shine but my goodness, every single one of them was perfect… this was even better than the produced version, and if that doesn’t speak to their ridiculous talent! I completely agree that Maya is the most well-rounded member in XG. Each of her talents in every category don’t have as major of a gap between them as the other girls. Her stage presence really compliments Jurin (they actually hug in the middle of the group in the MV) and Cocona of course but especially in their individual rap styles. Harvey adds to the rap line through her adlibs (vocal skatting) and that actually matters a lot more in rap/r&b than you’d think. When Harvey goes “whoa” it just hits different than the other members idk.
Yes 100% I meant to shout out Harvey's ad lin there but I was too busy trying not to bawl like a baby! I have discussed in at least one of my other videos (maybe X Gene or Puppet Show?) that what Maya does to bridge the vocal and rap lines, Hinata does to connect Juria and Chisa, and Harvey does to connect Jurin and Cocona. Each member has an important role and without any of them, we simply don't have XG. It's an incredibly well constructed group! 🐺❤️

Listening to WWY as a letter from their parents to their daughter, it sounded different.
I feel that it is also meaningful for them to sing a letter from a parent to a child, as they are in the position of a child.
In the behind-the-scenes of the MV, some of the members were seen in tears when they saw the video message from their parents as a surprise.
Also, the scene at the beginning of the MV where Chisa calls out in the snowy mountains is a tribute to the film 'Love Letter', so the whole song feels like a love letter to a loved one far away.

I find it fascinating that the way of feeling and interpreting music even in emotions is very similar among metalheads who enjoy XG's music, we analyze each layer from the voices to what each member contributes, I really enjoy your reactions brother, These girls are simply the epitome of talent and hard work. I Love them so much and I'm super proud of them
I have also noticed there is a surprising number of metalheads and old school hip hop fans who overlap in appreciating XG! I think It's definitely worth thinking and talking about because it cannot be a coincidence. For now though I just love that we can come from such a different interest and meet as fans of XG. I love the way you describe Juria and Chisa's vocal dynamic. I really relate them to Wheein and Solar from Mamamoo. Like Chisa can hit this powerful outlines and Juria fills in the colours right up to those outlines and because of it we get this amazing vocal artistry. Just like when Wheein fills in all the vocal colours for Solar and allows her to focus on the powerful voice she has.

Hwasa, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Solar are all completely unapologetically themselves. A lot of things that have become normal in KPOP were pushed by them. They're a group of 4 nutballs and remind me of the authenticity of XG while still being very kpop.

100% agree that Maya is underrated. She’s the triple threat. She can dance, sing and rap - and does all 3 to a very high standard. I personally think she raps just as hard as Covina and Jurin - her verse on the xypher is clear evidence of that. Plus her command and diction in English is the best. However I think other girls’ tone and style of flow gives them more appeal. I also love you’re giving props to Hinata - there of XG I watch the more I understand how talented and necessary she is for the group.

I don’t think I’ve watched anything of what I watched today where a grown man cried so much lol… but all jokes aside, truly love your genuine reaction on XG and your detailed deconstruction of their vocal range in and out of the song. I learnt a great deal!
It was an emotional roller coaster to say the least. You are completely correct about Maya, she is so underrated, and I for one have rated her fairly low in the past but not anymore. Not that she isn’t great, it’s just where do you categorise her, with all that talent around her. I feel like they are all my bias and then I change to an ultimate bias every damn song they produce lol
PS You probably need to get a box of tissues though and prepare yourself when watching Xtra Xtra, that can cause some emotional damage lol

I'm late to the party...as usual. But just had to login to comment on a great reaction! I 100% concur with everything you say about XG. I'm 53 years old, have found at least something to love about all genres of music... but I can confidently state that XG is the most talented group of humans ever assembled that I have witnessed. I truly think their magic is EVERY one of them is integral... hell vital.. to the group. I would be gutted to learn even one of them left the group for any reason. And yes.. I can't stop tracking Jurin through every video for at least the first 10 or viewings lol... but I have come to love them all. About twice a week I just settle in and watch people react to them over and over but you seem to have been affected by them just as I have. Keep up the good work and can't wait for them to release more..... also... My personal belief is this version of this song is as perfect as a song can get.
