Track day.. know yourself. If you crash on the road due to going beyond your limits, then worry about the cost. As for me, I use the same noggin I use on the street as on the track. The bonus is that at a track like Elkhart Lake, everyone's limits are greatly increased due to the many hazards not present along with a smoother wider oneway road. I took my Kaw ZX12R there twice. Enjoy your fastest machine if you go there.

I wish I could afford to move from my current 1050 to a bigger Speed Triple

Hi Dave, I bet the ZX12 was alot of fun on the track! If I do a track day this year, I'll probably take the Honda CB1000R, I just put a set of Dunlop Mutants on it. I'm interested in how they perform at the track :)
I agree, the same techniques you use on the track, you should also use on the road, just not as close to the limit. That's what they teach at the Yamaha Champ School as well. I've been enjoying the online version of champ school, it's pretty impressive 👌

I bet the Mutants will be fun at the track. I say that from a standpoint that you might get to feel the traction limits more readily than with a full-on street/track tire. I was amazed at how comfortable it was to slip a little on a track versus on a street. Yes the ZX12R was a hoot there. The lighter bikes all passed me in corners and then on the straights as one guy said, I'd "pass by them like a freight train".

I would have loved to watch your review on this Triple but the wind noise was too much... i hope you'll figure something out for next time

Hi, I did just purchase some more wind protection for the mic actually. I'm also planning on setting up my new xlite helmet for recording, and that one has an even quieter interior than the HJC RPHA 11 that I currently use. :)

Does anyone know if you can add the IMU to the Speed Triple S

That's a good question. I would imagine both models have the same ECU, but if you gave a bigger dealer a shout, they should know.

    No quickshifter ?

This bike has a quickshifter for sure, and it's super smooth! Maybe I forgot to mention it in the long term review here? I know I do talk about it in my other videos with it.

Hi, I'm 5'10 with about a 32 inch inseam. So just about the right size for most motorcycles! Lucky times! :)

Do you mean the Mt09 is slower than the Speed Triple 1050, or the other way around?
