I'm glad you enjoy Gyro, he's definitely one of my favorite characters. Also, You have to admit Scrooge is a pretty good boss. Scrooge is the ideal representation of the American Dream. He was an immigrant who came to this country with nothing, made a name for himself through hard work and ingenuity, creating a better life for his family's future generations. But he's not perfect; he often lets greed and pride get the better of him, and he's not very nice to Donald, at least in the original comics.

If you’re wondering why Scrooge doesn’t fire the board of directors, it’s because he likely can’t.
The way that a board of directors works is by every individual having less power than the CEO, but a majority of them working together having more power. This is in order to give the shareholders some security if the CEO of the company starts making poor financial decisions, and is why there are many instances of company founders being forced out of their own company when they either start acting like idiots, or even just start acting in the interest of the consumer instead of in the interest of lining shareholder pockets.
The typical way to get rid of a bad board member is via the rest of the board deciding to fire them.

The thing that Scrooge is the only one who can swim through a mass of coins, as if it were water comes from an old comic. I think it may have been one of Carl Barks' tales, where the Beagle Boys had actually managed to crack open Scrooge's money tank and abscond with all the cash, but Scrooge tricks them into knocking themselves unconscious by telling them that the _true_ pleasure of having all those coins it to dive in head-first and take a swim. Cue all the Beagle Boys _smacking_ hard into the solid mass of coins, knocking themselves out cold, while Scrooge lazily does the backstroke past them, as if he were in a pool.

I'm glad that Webby is growing on Moska - considering her personality in the original was basically just "the girl," the tweaks that have been made to the triplets and her to make them more unique and interesting are definitely a step up in terms of characterisation. And yeah, Launchpad doesn't really get to be much more than goofy himbo comic relief (with a few exceptions), but the writers wisely don't overuse him compared with the original - he shows up when it's plot relevant, or they have character development for him, or they need him to be a punchline to a gag.

Old Fogey time: Back in the old show Gearloose was around but like many characters has changed drastically, and for the better in my opinion. His old persona was the then popular quirky scientist stereotype, he was absentminded, didn't realize some people were evil, only focused on his inventions and basically just became the go to character to introduce some gadget or get out of a scifi situation....now really old fogey time, Della Duck, Donald Duck's sister and mother of the triplets, did exist back in the day...however her name was "Dumbella" and to my knowledge never appeared fully on screen or comic panel until this show, the most reference we really got to her was seeing her hands as she dropped off the nephews at Donald's house as she had to go to the hospital to be with their father who they had blown up with dynamite as a prank....and we then never saw either again and a decade or so later we had a comic about Donald Duck filling out tax forms where he listed the nephews as his dependents (so he adopted them).

There was some European comic (can't remember which country) that showed a flashback of Della/Dumbella dropping of the baby triplets with Donald before going into space, since she was an astronaut. Then she got sucked into a black hole and presumably died, which honestly sounds like an unnecessarily dark way to explain it in a comic meant for children? Like, I found black holes really terrifying as kid; why not just say it was a car accident? Anyway, how much of that was canon was debatable since it came from overseas, but that was the most complete version of their mother we ever had prior to this show.

FUN FACT: The Vultures are voiced by Comedian, actor, and writer Marc Evan Jackson, whose most popular roles include Shawn form The Good Place and Kevin Cozner from Brooklyn 99. One of Marc Evan Jackson's most prolific projects was probably The Trilling Adventure Hour, a live stage show that mimicked the ol' Timey radio shows of the 30's and 40's, where he played the titular Sparks Nevada, Marshall on Mars during the segments of the same name. Thrilling Adventure Hour ended regular shows several years ago, however they can still be found as podcasts and are tiemless entertainment. They also feature many guest roles from other voice talents who will later become recurring characters on DuckTales, including Paul F Thomkins and Padget Brewster, who played a married mediums on the Beyond Belief segments of those show.

Launchpad McQuack is a big precious cinnamon roll. He's kind of like the Scorpia of this show. Also, he's actually really good at _flying_ planes, it's just landing that he's not so good at. But you know what they say, "Any landing you can walk away from..."
There was a little bit of controversy among the fans with how genius inventor Gyro Gearloose was changed from a goofy absent-minded-professor type of character to an angry self-centered jerk. I personally don't mind it, it's a fun change, and there's an in-universe _reason_ for it, but at the time some people _really_ hated it.
"I'll be in my office if you need me. Please don't need me." One of my coworkers used to say whenever she went on her lunch break, "Call me if you need me, but need me if you call me."
In the original comics _everybody_ was after the #1 Dime, because they thought it was _literally_ a magic dime and whoever had it could never fail at business. There were a couple instances in the Carl Barks classic comics when Scrooge lost the Dime and _instantly_ started losing money until he got the Dime back. The Don Rosa comics retconned it to being an ordinary dime whose value to Scrooge was purely sentimental, but many of his villains still believed it had some sort of magic power. Other stories would imply that the Dime was originally ordinary but _became_ special over decades of absorbing Scrooge's financial success and the hardships he went through for them, and when one villain (who will be appearing soon) used time travel to steal the Dime before Scrooge earned it, it became worthless until it was returned.

It's so funny how at least in this continuity they use the Number One Dime as the justification for why Scrooge is even _in_ America. I wonder if the comics have it that way too? Or if it was just an American writer who didn't realize that now they're 10p coins in the UK, whenever Scrooge would be a child it'd be 2 shillings for the same percentage of 1 pound?

The Spear of Selene has the power to disguise anything it touches from all magical and non-magical forms of search. Scrooge was using to hide his treasure (that's why he now has to spend $50k on magical protection instead), but Della got in bad with the Duckburg mob and has been using the spear to hide herself from them.
EDIT: "magical protection", not "magical perfection". Curse you, autocorrect!

    5 maybe spoilers, maybe lies.
1: The ottoman twins are shown so much because one if them is the father of the triplets...but they don't know which and being perfect twins a DNA test can't prove it either...and other reasons.
2: The spear of Selene is cursed and Della must forever flee from moon demons hunting her and any contact with her family would put them at risk as well. The curse was meant to target Scrooge but Della had been the one to want to go on that adventure.
3: the spear of Selene is actually a dimensional key created by Gearloose to look at other timelines, she took it to check out possible future versions of her yet unhatched eggs but like all of Gearloose inventions it backfired and she became trapped in another timeline.
4: Scrooge is actually a Greek god and after a falling out with Zeus was banished, Zeus even erasing his name from the myths, Della wanted to do right by him and return one of the stolen treasures of the gods but is now stuck in New Olympus which is cut off from the world and especially hidden from Scrooge.
5: Gearloose ends up creating a robot boy that thinks its the fourth nephew Phooey Duck.

The timetube is probably a reference to the old tv show, where there was a couple arcs where he invented a timetube and some of the characters got lost in time, once exploring a future where the triplets were now ruthless rich jerk bosses in a distopian hyper advanced police state, but also once in the past, during the time of Arthur and Merlin! I Loved these arcs.
And gosh. You were way too optimistic of Louie if you didn’t expect him to spend it as soon as he got that dime. XD
Also, fun fact about that first dime: they released a « making of » book about the series, and IN that book, some pages have been cut out to make a slot for a replica of that coin. It’s really neat, and I love having Scrooge’s first dime as a prop.

I love that you're getting into the Ducktales reboot. I thought the writers and creation team did a fantastic job with this from beginning to end. There were of course a few changes to support this new story line (whereas the original cartoon's episodes were rarely connected). BUT they did a really good job with easter eggs and nods to the original show throughout the new series, such as the importance of the "#1 Dime" and Gyro's TimeTub. In fact, you'll see references and characters along the way from nearly the entire old Disney Saturday Morning lineup. For instance, that "Project Blatherskite" reference?......Oooooo, I really think you're gonna enjoy all this!😁

I believe Gyro's list of evil inventions references a few inventions made by the classic incarnation of the character, which would often cause the conflict of a story, if not by turning evil then either having some unforseen flaw or winding up in the hands of a villain. Also "Cogs" may be a reference to the villains of Disney's Toontown MMO.
