  • "If Ever I Would Leave You" from the musical Camelot, song by Robert Goulet.
Taking it out of context (because in context just hurts), I absolutely LOVE this song. What a beautiful depiction of love. I hope that you enjoy my rendition :)
The other day when I was thinking of the lyrics to this song, I got stuck on that last phrase: "No, never could I leave you at all!" and (when we are only looking at that specific line in this song) it reminded me of
    John 6:67-68
67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go?
and our Savior's promise to us:
    Isaiah 49:15-16
15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
Sometimes we get lost, but the Lord knows exactly where we are. And He will never leave us. He gives us as many chances as we will accept with an open heart.
