  • It was a windy but otherwise beautiful first couple of days of our trip in Isla Mujeres. We stayed in an area of the island known as Gloria, which has many hidden gems and just a short golf cart ride to explore many new places. We rented our golf cart for 2 days, which gave us a ton of freedom to explore and was well worth it! I didn't get to fly the drone much since it was super windy, but in the next video, you will see plenty, so be sure to subscribe. Thank you so much for watching and for all the support!

    Wow! Has that island ever changed. That used to be our secret hideaway back in the late 80's and early 90's. Hope it's as fun as it was back then. Cheers!

      Other than building a Secrets all inclusive resort and Taboo beach club I'm not sure lol. I've been coming to Isla for the past 12 years or so and all I know is that the island never disappoints! One of my favorite places in the world and always a blast! Hope you get to visit again soon! Thanks for the comment! 🙏🤙🌴

      Isla Mujeres is paradise lost. We spent time on the island before the tourist came. I led a motorcycle tour in the Yucatan March 22. I had an evening free before picking up the rental bikes. I took the group of 5 to Isla Mujeres for dinner and the sunset. Very disappointed in the crowds and the poor quality of the food served in a restaurant that had been good a dozen years ago. On the positive side the food was great once we left the tourist areas.

    Weve not been to isla mujeres for over 7 years now after visiting 3 times previously, it still looks as beautiful as we remember ! You can still hire the golf buggies as well i see ? I agree with you its probably the best place we have ever visited also, even though we still love greece, cape verde, Portugal, turkey etc ! Isla mujeres holds a special place in our hearts.

      Hey thanks for the comment! Yes beautiful indeed, we have another trip planned early next year and no matter how many times I visit I'm always excited! Visited Greece last year for the first time and loved every part of our trip! We might even make it again to some other islands next year 🤞. Hope you make it back to Isla Mujeres soon! Thanks again! 🏝🤙

      @@matthewkingtravels we are trying to travel to isla with our dog as well, the deep blue resort doesn't appear online as pet friendly, same for casaalkimia.. am I missing something? or do they honor the emotional support?

    • @matthewkingtravels
      @matthewkingtravels  5 месяцев назад

      @kkkkkkkkafskofasfk Hey there, you can absolutely do it. We were able to contact the owners and were granted permission because she is a trained service animal and based on her size (not emotional support). But generally those accommodations are not pet friendly unfortunately. But Isla Mujeres is extremely dog friendly and you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a pet friendly accommodation. Hope you and your pooch make it to the island 🌴🇲🇽 🐕☀️

    I just arrived from Mexico, and my biggest mistake was not to listen to my Mexican buddies that told me, don't go to Holbox, go to Isla Mujeres... I went to Holbox and what was supposed to be a 3 nights stay, i cut it short to 1... Ill be back to see this beautiful island.

      Hey there thanks so much 🙏 This video was filmed end of February 2023. The best time to visit is supposed to be from December to March although we've gone in September a couple times and had great weather. Maybe hit or miss but always a great place to visit no matter what, we will be back there very soon. Hope you make it! Thanks for the comment 🌴🇲🇽☀️🤙

    Thx for video …What months would you recommend it Isla Mujera (any to avoid) and how many nights would you recommend? Trying to avoid high prices & crowds but also don’t want i❤ to be dead… which area of the island to stay for 50 year old firstimers?

    • @matthewkingtravels
      @matthewkingtravels  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey absolutely! Well I just got back from Isla a couple weeks ago and I can say that if you are trying to avoid crowds I would avoid March/ early April. I've been in the August and it was much more quiet but some rain here and there and early Feb last year and it wasn't as crowded. As for prices, it's crazy how expensive everything got, especially with the dollar to peso. But you can find some cheaper eats depending on your taste. As for where to stay I'd recommend staying near the downtown, as you can walk to many great restaurants and beautiful playa Norte. Otherwise we stayed at Casa De Los Suenos on the other side and enjoyed it. I'd recommend having a gold cart. So maybe split the trip if you'd like. I'd say 4 days would be plenty. Hopefully this helps!

      Last trip we stayed at Nabalam and thought it was great as a great breakfast was included and it gave us beach club access.

      @@matthewkingtravels Great Info- thanks … We are going early December and we have 5 days to use. Thinking maybe 4 days in Isla Mujeres and then maybe a day in Cancun to maybe going to XCaret (if it is worth it)? Or maybe just stay the 5th day in Isla Mujeres? Not sure what’s easiest? Have never been to Mexico before. Thanks for any advice 😊

    • @matthewkingtravels
      @matthewkingtravels  3 месяца назад

      Hi there, how exciting! We just spent 9 and thought it was a bit long even though we love it there. However if you split it up by staying somewhere near Playa Norte and a hotel near the south side of the island it might be a nice change of pace. Also if you are willing to rent a golf cart for at least a few days it is a great way to see and do more. Really can't go wrong, there is plenty to see and do on Isla Mujeres and a great place to unwind and relax. And so much great food! Otherwise another great island is Isla Holbox, we went there also and really enjoyed it. Hope this helps. Have a great time whatever you decide to do! 🤙

    Headed there in July for the 1st time! How many pesos per day per person would you recommend having?

    • @matthewkingtravels
      @matthewkingtravels  Год назад

      That's super exciting!! I've been many times and I'm excited everytime like the first lol. It really depends, if you are on a low budget you can find many local eats and great street food, there are many options. There are also many inexpensive/ mid range options to choose from and some high end places just depends on what your looking for. Golf carts will cost about $70us generally for a full day but you can rent them for just a few hours for less. Expect to spend a bit more at the beach clubs as there will be a minimum consumption most of the time and the cost for a day bed. Isla Mujeres has something for everyone! Hope you have a fantastic first trip to Isla! Enjoy! ♥️🇲🇽🌴⛱️☀️
