Should've also included the 2nd gen Patrol. The inline 6 made a heap of low end torque, 330nm at only 1200rpm which is crazy. Also it was too utilitarian like those old defenders, which included foldable windsheild and removable doors. It was assembled in India with the brand name JONGA and had served the Indian army for 3 decades. There were versions with 105mm RCL guns mounted on the hull. Absolute workhorse it was.
Cool. That's right. I agree with this video. In Indonesia, Trusted 4wd in ranking is FJ40, Daihatsu Taft GT, and Jeep CJ7. Whether for offroad or mining operation due to the durability and low effort-cost of maintenance.
Nice to see the CJ-2 doing what it was built for. Proof that you don't need a massive V-8 to get around off road. Both the Mercedes G Wagen and Land Rover would have handled the situations they were shown in far better if they had been given a bit more throttle going in.
Fj 40 is the best legend suv. Sweet memories of mine
Great video

Ford bronco is used in the commando movie by Arnold Schwarzenegger
The famous toyota fj40
No list of classic 4x4s is complete if it doesn't include the GOAT: International Scout II.

I would buy a simple practical off road truck. I don't want fancy amenities.
I would buy one with solid axles. I don't want those modern nanny crap traction controls, or at least there should be an option of turning them off.
Mercedes unimog??
