Nothing east of 9th ave NW...that's roughly 6 blocks west of the Capitol building. I spent the overnight at Freedom Plaza.That's roughly 4 blocks west of 9th ave NW. On the morning of the 6th, there was absolutely NO auto traffic anywhere near Freedom Plaza other than DC Police cars. There were also 4 to 8 National Guard troops on every street corner. I tried to get a cab out of there, but was told that the whole area was sealed off to all traffic. Meanwhile, 11 blocks away from Freedom Plaza, at the US Capitol, there were NO National Guard troops as per order. Ya think that was by design? Na. They intentionally kept the Guard troops away from the Capitol to "SAVE THE DEMOCRACY!"

This clearly lays out the Chain of Command. Nowhere does it state that Pelosi has the power to countermand the President. Trump could have ordered the National Guard to mobilize in minutes like he did with Lafayette Square but he chose not to act. Testimony reveals that it was VP Pence that called up National Guard reinforcements to clear the rioters from the Capitol building.
