It was always funny as a kid that in one of hinduism's epics the Ramayana rama also has to lift and string a bow made for shiva as a marriage test to win Sita and not only he manages to string it but breaks it. This was before I knew about the term Indo-European religions.
That is funny. I wish I knew more about the permeation of ideas throughout these ancient cultures because there seems to be alot of overlap of greek mythology and christian and jewish mythology too.
Seems like Homer skims over the fact that he told us in an earlier book there are hundreds of suitors. Where'd they all go?
