Painting dark skin tone is not very challenging if your are choosing the right color palette. I am not using any medium or retarder for this painting, except water as my only medium.

Dear Mr Boruah, I have just discovered your beautiful channel and subscribed. What a joy! I have only begun to make art for 2 years now, since COVID caused me to have to be alone more. It is my salvation but what has troubled me has been the lack of instruction on rendering our beautiful people of color. I have searched and searched and found so few lessons on this. I am an African American woman living in Massachusetts and have had to travel across the globe to find you! I’m so happy to meet you through your beautiful art and your generous sharing heart. I sincerely thank you! 🥰👋🏻
Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciating my work 🙏 I have painted few other similar portraits on my channel. Hope you'll enjoy watching them too. Keep painting 🎨 All the best for your art journey 👍 Feel free to ask anything regarding art. I'll love to answer ☺️
I got involved in an art exhibition and I wanted to paint a portrait after a hiatus of four years without painting anything so I looked for a tutorial on acrylic portraits and that’s when I found your channel, and after watching some of your videos, I finally realized that painting portraits in acrylic is not scary at all. I have to admit that doing it in large scale (30”x30”) is tricky but so far so good. Following your directions, I was able to get 90% of the under painting done. Thank you for teaching us (and showing) step by step how to use acrylics to paint beautiful portraits without fear!
Glad to know that you found my videos helpful. Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation 🙏
It’s beautiful. I like the real vibrancy of the black skin tone. Thanks

So where were you when I was painting Muhammed Ali!! Boy, I could have used your techniques on him! LOL Thanks for the wonderful tutorial, Debojyoti! Fabulous, as always!!!
Yes it's a similar skin tone for him too. Glad you liked the process. Thank you so much for appreciating my work 🙏😊😊
Muhammed Ali's skin tone was mid range not dark. It's a simple burnt ochre and subtle pinks. This skin tone is in the dark range and requires more expert blending to not muddy.

Amazing! How do you keep the paint from drying out in between mixing colors?
It's very simple. Keep spraying water mist on your palette while working. It will not dry.
This is so beautiful! I am practicing daily with no prior skills. I want so badly to be at this level one day. Are you a teacher?
Sure you can make it. All the best 👍 Thank you ☺️ I am bringing my online lesson soon.
