    Quick clarification: I think Charlie may have misspoken on the 12v battery reset. I think it's the other way around -- the hybrid battery assists in the event of a dead 12v accessory battery. If your 12v is dead, pressing the 12v reset button gives you 15 seconds of access to the hybrid batter's power to start the car. Really cool safety net. I recently had to give up a Rav4 Hybrid that routinely drained its 12v and left me stranded several times. That feature would have really come in handy!

      Yes, completely false explanation about this battery reset button.

      Ahh, good point. What I was referring to was with my Escape Hybrid, the hybrid battery was so dead that it couldn't function to start the engine. So I had to use that 12v button and give it a few minutes to trickle the hybrid system enough to start the engine. Perhaps it can function both ways, because I see why you'd need to do it for this as well.

    The button blank in the center console is the Auto Stop/Start disable button. Hybrid/PHEV’s don’t have that so the button is blank

      May depend on the trim. My PHEV Sportage has a working button.

    The heated windshield can clear snow, frost, fogging way faster than the defrost alone, especially from a cold start. It also helps especially in snow to reduce/eliminate snow buildup and help keep the wiper blades a little softer.

    • @ryancraig2795
      @ryancraig2795 Год назад

      But it is a little distracting, especially at night. But it also works really well. If I did a lot of rural and highway driving at night it might bother me more, but overall I think it's a useful addition for winter driving.

    The side plastic covers in the trunk can pop out so you can hide the cargo cover. The floor drops and there are small pockets under the removable covers. I have this car and love it!

    The "default options you don't want" is a staple of kia/Hyundai. In the 2016 sonata it will default stay in normal or eco but not sport. The adaptive cruise and AEB can't be kept off either.

    Hi Chris and Charlie, I tested a Lexus NX350h and didn't think the droning engine was fitting for a $46k vehicle. The Sportage Prestige looks better outside and inside and costs $38k. Seems like a better all around choice, what do you think?

    • @DailyMotor
      @DailyMotor  Год назад +4

      The NX is a more refined driving experience. Nicer materials, quieter cabin, more modern tech. But if you didn't care for it, then the Sportage might be a nice option. Just know that even with all the bells and whistles, its still not going to feel as nice inside as a Lexus.

    How soft do you think the suspension? I miss the old rogue it had v soft suspension that made bumpy roads not so bad. I thinking of getting an SUV from this class was wondering which one had the most comfy ride

    So many things showing a lack of knowledge before taking it for a review.
    A few:
    The missing button is the EV mode if you have the PHEV.
    The hump on the inside of the door isn't "for styling" it's a handle to grap if the door is fully open.
    Frozen Navi screen, all u had to do is reset it...

    The EX trim in this car really seems like a bargain. Nobody seems to get the 38 mpg rating for hwy driving. I wonder how it got that rating.
